Abstract

The study aims to determine the type of vegetation that composes mangrove forests and their zoning patterns, to know the composition of mangrove vegetation types and to determine the level of mangrove forest diversity. This study was determined based on the characteristics of the research location ranging from those close to residential areas to those located close to the beach. The method used is systematic sampling which consists of nine observation blocks and each block is divided into four circular research plots. There are 9 types of vegetation that compose mangrove forests in Wambona Village, Wakorsel District, i.e. Avicenna alba BI, Bruguiera hainnessi, Bruguiera gymnorrhiza (L.) Lamk, Ceriops tagal (Perr), Rhizophora mucronata Lamk, Rhizophora stylosa Griff, Sonneratia alba J.E. Smith, Caseolaris sonneratia (L.) Engl. and Bruguiera parviflora (Roxb.) Important Value Index (IVI) of mangrove vegetation in Wambona Village, Wakorsel District namely; 300% for tree level, pole, stake and 200% for seedling level. Diversity of mangrove vegetation types in Wambona Village, Wakorsel District as a whole is in the moderate category (moderate stability) with each tree 1.54, pole 1.57, stake 1.49 and seedling 1.64.

Abstract

The study was conducted during March-May 2017 in the Coastal Waters of Ternate Island of North Maluku Province with the aim to study the relationship between the concentration of chlorophyll-a and the catch of Hemiramphus sp and its potential fishing area. Using experimental fishing method and non-linear regeneration analysis and GIS analysis. The result of this research shows that oceanographic factor that is chlorophyll-a concentration has significant effect on the catch of julung fish with correlation coefficient value of 0.729, with potential catch area located at three locations ie at coastal of Ngade to Kalumata on location 00o45'00"N - 127o21'03"E to 00o45'28.924"N - 127o22'08.893"E, coastal Keluarah Fitu at the location 00o44'39.490"N -127o19'51.083"E to 00o45'09.150"N - 127o20'52.263"E, and on the coast of Kelurahan Rua on location 00o45'51.169"N - 127o17'25.857"E to 00o46'42.457"N - 127o17'45.633"E.

Abstract

In Lirang Islands border the fisherman was interact with Republic of Timor Leste Democratic because of difficult accessibility. Therefore, management and development of small islands were needed which fit with its potential, characteristic, and problems. The aim of this research were to analyze economic condition of Lirangs people using fishing rate analysis; to analyze policy of border and formalize the strategic of development Lirangs Island using public policy analysiss and SWOT Analysis. Commonly, Lirangs fisherman has fishing rate above 1 and it showed that they have well-being level to fulfill their need. A vew policies that support the development of Lirangs island as small island were: to improve their autonomy from fishing facilities and infrastructure (market, dock/jetty, base of landing base, ice factory, cold storage and water) and training for fisherman through founding, to improve their skills and control the technology; to improve the social and economic collaboration with Repubic of Timor Leste Democratic.

Abstract

Smoked tuna is one of traditional fisheries product in Tobelo, North Halmahera. Tobelos people like this product because of its smoke taste. In Tobelo, there are many producer who sell this product, but information about its quality was unknown. In this research, the researcher wants to know about microbiology aspect of smoked tuna from three traditional market in Tobelo. The result of this research showed that Total Plate Count (TPC) value was from 7,5x1015,35x102 APM/g; smoked tuna from modern Market showed the highest Staphulococcus sp. colony at 1,3x103 CFU/g. colony of Salmonella sp. showed negative value for three different market. The highest fungy colony was 2,5x101 CFU/g from Gotong royong Market, for Escherichia coli analysis, smoked tuna from Gotong Royong Market showed high value at 23 CFU/g, it was exceed Indonesia National Standard.

Abstract

Coastal area is one of nature ecosystem has high productivity, unique, and have high ecological and economic value. In addition, coastal areas also have important ecological functions such as providers of nutrients, spawning sites and as food for various marine organisms. As a first step in the management of fishery resources that is required information about species composition and abundance of fish in the coast of Payumb area, Merauke City. The objective of the study was to obtain preliminary information on species composition and fish abundance. This research was conducted in October-December 2016, in coastal Payumb city of Merauke. The research station was determined by purposive sampling. The data analysis used is the abundance index (K), index of Shannon-winner diversity, uniformity index (E), and Simpson dominance index (C). The number of fish caught is 529 fish, the value of diversity index is 3.79; value of uniformity index 0.42 and value of index of dominance equal to 0.11.
