Abstract

This research entitled “Implementation of School-based Management and its impact on improving the quality of schools in District of Tambolaka City, Southwest Sumba, East NusaTenggara. This research was conducted in Southwest Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara. The purpose of this research is to know the implementation of school-based management has an influence onthe improvement of the quality of primary school in Tambolaka City District, Southwest Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara. This research is a type of correlational research. This research uses design: Ex post facto, using factual data. The sample is determined by proportional random sampling technique. Research pupulation is all teachers of primary school with a sample of 50 teachers from 10 primary schools. Data is collected by using questionnaire. Validity testing of research points is conducted by using contruct validity, and reliability testing by using Alpha-Cronbach method. Data analysis using descriptive analysis technique and simple linear regression. The result of research indicates that 1) implementation of school-based management in sub-district of Tambolaka city is in excellent category is about 64% and proper category is about 36%. This data shows that implementation of school-based management in all primary schools of Tambolaka district is averagely excellent. 2) The quality of primary schools in Tambolaka district reaching 70% is in proper category, 20% is in moderate category, and 2 % is in theminus category. 3) Based on the result of regression analysis, it can be obtained the significance value of the MBS to the quality of schools is about 0,09 or (p smaller than 0,05). It means, MBS regression analysis to the school quality is significant. Therefore, Ha is approved or Ho is rejected. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence between MBS variable to the school quality. Based on the result of regression analysis, it can be obtained the coeficient of determination (R2) is about 0,134. It means that the influence of MBS to the school quality is about 0,134 or 13,4%. This research is also influenced by other factors.

Abstract

Background: Straight punch or jab punch is one punch in boxing. Jab is a blow provocation done by hand in the front position to distract the opponent. Not infrequently blow jab could be ejected violently. Speed jab is in need to knock out the opponent.  Therefore we need the right training. Objective: Training hit by the load and drive pulley with weights aims to increase the speed of the jab and stright punch blow. Method: Experimental research has been done with the design Randomized Pre-Post Test Control Group Design on Student SKO Flobamora Kupang. Total sample of 18 people, divided into two groups and each group of nine people.Group 1 was given training with weights and hit the second group training encourages pulley with weights. Research for six weeks with a frequency of exercise three times a week. speed ismeasured with a stopwatch, before and after treatment, and the differences were statistically tested. Result: T independent test shows the speed among the groups before the training did notdiffer 24.44 plus minus 0.882 /5 seconds. After training the average speed punch 24.44 plus minus 0.882 blow before training 21,00 plus minus 1,118 blows / 5 seconds and average power punches 33.11 plus minus  1.900 blows / 5 seconds. In Group 2 average speed of 33.56 plus minus 1.590 kg. Average speed punch after training were 29.11 plus minus  1,364 blows / 5 seconds. Results of paired t-test showed the average speed of a punch in Group 1 before training 21.33 plus minus 1,118 (p bigger than 0.05) and after training was significantly different (p smaller than 0.05) test shows Training hit with loads more increase the speed of the push pulley with weights. Conclusion: Training concluded hit with a load greatly increase the speed of the left and right straight punches instead of pushing a pulley with weights together to give the effect of increased power and speed and a left straight punch right (p smaller than 0.05). An increase in one group is better than the training push pulley with weights on the speed of the left and right straight punches. Suggestion: It is advisable to use hitting training with weights in the training process in the recruitment of athletes because it gives a better effect.

Abstract

Bilingualism is closely related to the acquisition of a second language. Language acquisition is closely related to how children acquire words, meanings, structures, and pragmatics. It is nothing else related to the processes that occur in the mind and attitude of the child. In the era of globalization, the mastery of foreign languages, especially English as an international language, is mandatory. Currently in Indonesia, English is taught in primary schools and even in early childhood education. This article discusses children's learning, especially in terms of cognitive psychology in learning foreign languages as a second language. The method used is literature study and data collection is analyzed descriptively. It is important to note that the cognitive development of primary school children is appropriate for language learning and there are advantages to learning foreign languages in primary schools. Abstract

This development research is aimed to producing physics textbooks which is appropriate to the local language (mother tongue) in Southwest Sumba about motion equations into Senior High School students Grade XI which affects the students' activity in learning. This study was conducted to find out the textbook that is produced based on aspects of validity, practicality and effectiveness. The type of this research is a development study. This study was conducted by using R and D (Research and Development) method through procedures of defining potentials and problems, collecting information, designing products, validating designs, improving designs, testing products, revision productss in preliminary research, and research. Subjects of this research are 23 students in students Grade XI SMAN Loura Sumba Southwest academic year 2016/2017. From the results obtained that the textbook developed has met the valid criteria with an average of 75.9 was in good criteria, practicality of the teacher's book according to the teacher it was in the good category of the average value 78, the practicality of textbooks according to the students has mean value in average 85.96 was in the very good category, whereas there is a significant difference between the learning results before and after the use of textbooks with the local language style of Southwest Sumba. So, it can be concluded that the textbooks with the local language style of Southwest Sumba can improve the students learning results and effectively used in physics learning with an average rating is a very good value of 92.6Keywords: textbooks, development research

Abstract

Human life is dynamic. In its dynamics, education is one sector that influences the quality of human life in the world, including rural communities. Thus, Education is the spearhead of a country [province, district, sub-district, and village]. Through this idea, education must be the main concern of all citizens, especially the villagers. With primary attention to education, the progress achieved through it can be experienced. The reality shows a significant gap when villagers have not put education as the spearhead of progress. As a result, financial use is prioritized for various non-educational matters, one of which is culture. This has an effect on the low attention to the cost of education so that it places villagers in a vortex of lagging. This scientific paper aims to make villagers understand the importance of education as the spearhead of the progress of a region; understand the type of education or the Three Education Center in Indonesia; understand the benefits or uses of education; and realize "education as a future investment in rural communities". The results of this work were obtained through the study of various literature. The various library sources are mixed into a work that is presented to readers, especially the village community. Thus, through this scientific work the villagers are expected to touch on the importance of education as the spearhead of progress. Therefore, the thoughts and priorities of financial use are prioritized for the education of children as future generations and future investments.

Abstract

This study aims to find out: (1) the effect between biology teacher’s work culture and their teacher’s performances of senior high school (SHS); (2) the effect between biology teacher’s performances and student’s learning achievements of senior high school (SHS); and (3) the effect between biology teacher’s performances and student’s learning achievements through teacher’s performance of senior high school (SHS). The sample consisted of biology teachers teaching in Grades X and XI with a total of 20 teachers and students of Grades X and XI. The data were collected through questionnaires and tests. The data were analyzed by means of the path analysis technique. The results of the path analysis show that: (1) there is a significant effect between biology teacher’s work culture and their performances with p smaller than 0.05 and R2 of 33.1% and regression equation with Y = 36.316 + 0.652X; (2) there is a significant effect between biology teacher’s performances and student’s learning achievements with p smaller than 0.05 and R2 of 50.3% and regression equation with Y = 48.831 + 0.252Y; and (3) there is effect between biology teacher’s performances and student’s learning achievements through teacher’s performance with of t count 2.158  bigger than t table 2.093.
