Abstract

The famous method to determine and solve transportation problem is the transportation model and the assignment model. We see how to develop an initial solution to the transportation problem with VAM (Vogel’s Approximation Method) and MODI (Modified Distribution) and Northwest Corner rule and the Stepping-Stone method. VAM is not quite as simple as the Northwest Corner approach, but it facilitates a very good initial solution, as a matter of fact, one that is often the optimal solution. The Assignment method, which is simple and faster to solve the transportation problem by reducing the numbers (cost) in the table/tableau until a series of zeros is found, or zero opportunity costs, which means that we will reach the optimal cost allocations. Once we have reached the optimal cost allocations, we then allocate each sources or supply according to some points of demand (destinations). Assignment Method is a specialized form of optimization linear programming model that attempts to assign limited capacity to various demand points in a way that minimizes costs. The special cases of transportation problem included degeneracy (a condition that occurs when the number of occupied squares in any solution is less than the number of rows plus the number of columns minus 1 in a transportation table), unbalanced problems, and multiple optimal solutions. At this opportunity, we would like to demonstrate the multiple optimal solutions. We will see how the Assignment method may be viewed as a special case of solving the transportation problem. Keywords : Assignment method, VAM and MODI, Northwest Corner and Stepping-Stone.

Abstract

An export commodity is one of the macroeconomic factors that must be considered to enhance economic growth. One of the export commodities is rice. Rice is also one of the commodities that are traded in the current era of free trade. Free trade has ability to increase national income and give a trigger to the country's economic growth through international trade mechanisms. However, the phenomenon that occurs at this time, rice-as an export commodity- is at a crossroads. Rather than being a major contributor to state revenues, but it became one of the macroeconomic problems. The research looked at how the impact of rice trade liberalization on economic growth and how the influence of rice exports and imports on economic growth. Keywords : Trade liberalization, Economic growth, Rice Export, Rice Import

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of celebrity attractiveness (X1), celebrity credibility (X2), the fit between the celebrity and the product category (X3), and advertising weight (X4) on consumer purchase intention (Y). It is based on five brands as case studies: New Era shoe, 3 telco provider, Honda Vario motorcycle, Chitato snack, and Zinc shampoo. F test showed that the simultaneous influence of the independent variables was statistically significant. Meanwhile, t test found that celebrity attractiveness (X1) influence on purchase intention (Y) was significant only for Provider 3 case, whereas the other 3 independent variables had significant influence in all cases. Thus, in choosing celebrity endorser, advertisers are advised to consider the fit between the celebrity and the product category, advertising weight, and celebrity credibility. Keywords : Celebrity endorser, Advertising

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the optimal portfolio return and the change in IHSG to changes in stock prices the securities sector. The purpose of this study is the author wanted to determine the effect of the transaction value of the securities sector stock price changes. The method used is the Sharpe Model, Single Index Model, and using Microsoft Office Excel. The result of this research is the only portfolio on the agricultural sector able to generate a positive return. Conclusions of this research, there were 12 companies included in the the optimal portfolio in LQ45 and agricultural sectors only have return rate postitif of 19:16% and the risk by 5.92%. Keywords : Return, Risk, Single Indeks Model, and Sharpe Model
