Abstract

Along with the increasing demand for palm oil has the world's population, it is necessary to think about efforts to increase the quality and quantity of palm oil production. One of the factors such as planting material in the form of seeds, it is necessary to act technical culture or good seed treatment. Oil palm seedlings can be done in two stages: initial seeding (prenursery) and moved at the age of 2.5-3 months when they fulfill the criteria nursery ready to move to the main (main nursery). This study aims to (i) determine the speed of growth of oil palm seeds and, (ii) obtain the best type of soil for growing speed of oil palm seeds in two places making swampy marshland. The research was conducted in the Pangkalan Sari Village, Sungai Pandan Sub-district, Hulu Sungai Utara Regency in July-August 2013, using a completely randomized design (CRD) with a single factor. Factors studied were two lebak wetland of origin of uptake (T) as much as two levels and repeated nine times. The results showed that the two treatments had no effect lebak wetlands on many shoots observation variables age 14 and 28 days after seeding(DAS), the amount of leafage of 14 DAS, seedling height 14 DAS, and significant observations on many variables shoots the age of 42 DAS, number of leaves age 28 and 42 DAS, and a very significant effect on seedling height observation variables age 28 and 42 DAS.

Abstract

Agriculture is the main source of livelihood for Indonesian people. Women or housewives in Nangamua Village are generally vegetable farmers. Women here play a dual role, women as housewives are also the backbone of the family. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of women and the outpouring of female labor devoted to vegetable farming, the contribution of vegetable farming income to family income and the relationship between the amount of labor spent by female farmers and the amount of family income. The method used is descriptive analysis, income analysis and correlation analysis. The results of this study were that female farmers had a role in vegetable farming, such as seeding, planting, maintaining, harvesting and post-harvest, outpouring of female farm laborers in vegetable farming was 42.49% of all vegetable farming activities, vegetable farming opinion contribution in income the family is 33.33% and the correlation of the outpouring of female labor with vegetable farming income has a positive correlation with a value of 0.70.

Abstract

Dragon fruit is one of the cactus plants which is quite popular because of its sweet taste and unique and interesting shape. Propagation of dragon fruit seeds is usually done by cuttings and one of the problems in the supply of dragon fruit seeds is the planting medium. This study aims to determine (i) the effect of the interaction of various cuttings lengths and composition of the planting medium, (ii) the effect of various lengths of cuttings, (iii) the influence of various plant media compositions, (iv) the best interactions between various cuttings and composition of planting media, (v ) the best length of cuttings and (vi) the best media composition in dragon fruit cultivation. This study was conducted in Haur Gading Village, Batang Alai Utara District, Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency from May-August 2018, using Factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) 2 factors. The first factor is the length of cuttings with 4 levels: p1 = 35 cm, p2 = 40 cm, p3 = 45 cm, p4 = 50 cm. The second factor is the composition of the planting medium with 3 levels: k1 = 1.5 kg of soil: 0.0 kg wallet dirt fertilizer: 1.5 kg of sand, k2 = 1.0 kg of soil: 1.0 kg of wallet dirt fertilizer: 1, 0 kg of sand, k3 = 0.5 kg of soil: 1.5 kg wallet dirt fertilizer: 1.5 kg of sand. The results showed that the interaction of the length of cuttings with the composition of the planting medium had no effect on growth, while the single length factor of the cuttings had no effect on all observation variables except the shoot length had a significant effect on week 12 WAP and the composition of planting media influenced the growth of dragon fruit seeds.

Abstract

Margomulyo area is a protected area that provides various benefits to support life for the community. This study aims to determine: (i) the number of marketing institutions in the distribution of marketing of tiger shrimp, (ii) the marketing channels available in the marketing of tiger shrimp by pond farmers in Margomulyo Village, Balikpapan Barat District, Balikpapan City, (iii) marketing margins in the distribution of black shrimp marketing. This research was carried out in Margomulyo area in September-December 2016. The research method used a field survey method by interviewing fishing communities and literature. To analyze marketing functions, it is analyzed based on the functions of each marketing agency, while the analysis of margin distribution is done by calculating marketing costs both at the consumer and producer level. The results of the study of marketing patterns of freckle shrimp in the Margomulyo Region indicate that there are four patterns of marketing distribution channels, namely: I (producer-consumer), II (consumer-retailer), III (producer-retailer-consumer) and IV (producer-gatherer) -customer-sellers-retailers). The marketing distribution of tiger shrimp on pattern channel II (Producers-Retailers-Consumers) is more dominantly used because the marketing distribution channel is relatively shorter so it cuts the marketing distribution flow to the final consumer level, so it can suppress other additional costs. This can be seen based on the value of the share obtained at 75.05%, the selling price of tiger shrimp in the final consumer is 37,000, while the average selling price is Rp. 27,767, - Marketing margin of Rp. 9,233, - with a profit of 5,881. This value shows the advantages for the promising shrimp producer (producer) farmers as the main business actors of tiger shrimp cultivation

Abstract

Peanuts is a herbs plants, its flowers like a butterfly and its pods at the underground. Production decrease of peanuts at the Hulu Sungai Utara Regency because chemical fertilizers are used excessively. It causes the soil isn’t loose, hard, and sour. Liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) of coconut husk and banana trunk have many nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. This study aims to (i) determine the growth and yield response of peanut to the application liquid organic fertilizer of coconut husk and banana trunk on lebak wetlands, (ii) determine the best dosage liquid organic fertilizer of coconut husk and banana trunk growth and yield of peanut in lebak wetlands. It used a randomized block design (RBD). The results showed that application liquid organic fertilizer of coconut husk and banana trunk had significant effect on plant height and number of leaves age 28 day after planting (DAP) and no effect on plant height and number of leaves age 14 and 21 DAP, age of the plant when the first flowering, number of pods and plant fresh weight of pods. p3 (250 ml) was the best dosage to growth and yield of peanut.

Abstract

Golden snail or murbei snail is one of the important pests of rice plants because the damage caused can reach an intensity of 13,2-96,5%. The results of the south Kalimantan BPTPH observation of golden snail attacks in the north Hulu Sungai Utara Regency increased from 0,3 ha in 2015 to 1 ha in 2016. One of the controls of golden snail pest which uses fish traps in bubu, bait is one of the important factors to support the success of a fishing operation with traps and fishing rods. Attractant plants are chemical compounds that act as bait against pests, the use of attractant plants to attract snails is one the most environmentally friendly ways to control it. This research was conducted in the village of Pakacangan districts Amuntai Hulu Sungai Utara. Research using Randomized Block Design (RBD), grouping based on the water level. The factors studied were planted type (A), which consisted of 4 levels, namely: a1= papaya leaves, a2= taro leaves, a3= dried onions leaves, and a4= cassava leaves. The results showed that various attractant plants had no effect on the amount of golden snail 5, 10, and 15 days after installation, but had a significant effect on the weight of the feed residue, the total weight of the feed and the length of the feed.
