Abstract

            The coastal and marine areas of North Penajam Paser Regency have the potential of very rich natural resources, one of which is seaweed. This study aims to determine the strategies used in the development of seaweed cultivation, especially in the area of Nipah-nipah Sub-district Penajat of North Paser district. This research was conducted in Penajam Coastal Zone of north Paser Regency starting from June to September 2017. The research method used field survey method by interviewing fishermen seaweed fisherman community and library searching. The analysis used is SWOT analysis conducted to know the strategy of development of seaweed in the future. This analysis is based on the logic that maximizes strength (Strennghs) and opportunities (Opprtunities, but simultaneously also minimizes Weaknesses and Treants.) The results show that there are four alternative strategies for the development of seaweed that can be recommended that is the SO strategy used is to take advantage of all the potential of sea owned to seaweed processing business, processing, applying appropriate methods, seeking greater market opportunities and utilize the source of family labor optimally, ST strategy used is to increase production by conducting seaweed cultivation on time and methods to avoid ais-ais disease and improve the knowledge and skills of seaweed farming at the farm level, WO Strategy used by increasing cooperation with research institutions and government to obtain disease resistant seeds, various capital sources increase ki nerja groups, WT Strategy that digunaka is utilizing government support and multiply follow counseling and or training seaweed finance. Keywords : Seaweed Cultivation, Penajam Coastal Zone, SWOT

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendemonstrasikan kelayakan budidaya ikan dan rumput laut di perairan sekitar Kecamatan Sangia Wambulu, ditinjau dari aspek fisika perairan. Penelitian dilaksanakan mulai bulan April sampai dengan Mei 2021 bertempat di Perairan Kecamatan Sangia Wambulu Kabupaten Buton Tengah. Alat yang digunakan pada penelitian adalah : Seichidisk, Termometer, Refraktometer, Perahu, Senter, Layangan arus, Tali raffia, Stopwatch dan Waterpass. Bahan yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah air sampel yang diambil dari Spot yang sudah ditentukan lokasinya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif analitis. Metode deskriptif analitis dapat diartikan sebagai prosedur penelitian yang berusaha mendeskripsikan suatu gejala, peristiwa ataupun kejadian, menggambarkan variabel demi variabel serta mengumpulkan informasi berdasarkan fakta-fakta yang tampak atau sebagaimana adanya, kemudian di analisis (Hasan, 2002). Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan yaitu Purposive Sampling. Purposive Sampling adalah pengambilan sampel berdasarkan keperluan penelitian, artinya setiap unit atau individu yang diambil dari populasi dipilih dengan sengaja berdasar pertimbangan tertentu (Purwanto dan Dyah, 2007). Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan dan pembahasan yang telah dilakukan maka pentingnya menarik beberapa kesimpulan yaitu : Parameter fisik yaitu suhu perairan berkisar 26 hingga 28º C, salinitas 29 - 31 ppt, kecerahan 5 hingga 7,3 m, dan kecepatan arus 7,01 - 11,38 cm/detik. Secara umum keberadaan kualitas air fisik; suhu dan kecerahan masih berada pada kondisi yang relatif baik. Pada dasarnya perairan Kecamatan Sangia Wambulu yakni sekitar Desa Baruta Analalaki, Baruta Doda dan Tolandona masih dapat di gunakan usaha budidaya.

Abstract

Margomulyo area is a protected area that provides various benefits to support life for the community. This study aims to determine: (i) the number of marketing institutions in the distribution of marketing of tiger shrimp, (ii) the marketing channels available in the marketing of tiger shrimp by pond farmers in Margomulyo Village, Balikpapan Barat District, Balikpapan City, (iii) marketing margins in the distribution of black shrimp marketing. This research was carried out in Margomulyo area in September-December 2016. The research method used a field survey method by interviewing fishing communities and literature. To analyze marketing functions, it is analyzed based on the functions of each marketing agency, while the analysis of margin distribution is done by calculating marketing costs both at the consumer and producer level. The results of the study of marketing patterns of freckle shrimp in the Margomulyo Region indicate that there are four patterns of marketing distribution channels, namely: I (producer-consumer), II (consumer-retailer), III (producer-retailer-consumer) and IV (producer-gatherer) -customer-sellers-retailers). The marketing distribution of tiger shrimp on pattern channel II (Producers-Retailers-Consumers) is more dominantly used because the marketing distribution channel is relatively shorter so it cuts the marketing distribution flow to the final consumer level, so it can suppress other additional costs. This can be seen based on the value of the share obtained at 75.05%, the selling price of tiger shrimp in the final consumer is 37,000, while the average selling price is Rp. 27,767, - Marketing margin of Rp. 9,233, - with a profit of 5,881. This value shows the advantages for the promising shrimp producer (producer) farmers as the main business actors of tiger shrimp cultivation

Abstract

The potential of fishery resources in the Terapung Village" Mawasangka District, Central Buton Regency is one of the valuable assets, but the income level of fishermen often occurs in the marketing and processing process of the catch. Lack of knowledge and ability of fishermen in maximizing the catch is one of the contributing factors . Therefore, the purpose of Community Service activities is to help partners in processing salted dried baby squid and fish shredded products, packaging and marketing products, inspiring people to be more confident in developing businesses to improve community welfare, creating collaboration between higher education institutions with society. The method of implementing activities with a community empowerment system is carried out through a transfer of knowledge and technology model for processing salted dried squid and shredded fish in two stages. The first is the provision of materials and training to students before going down to the location so that they can transfer skills to the community or target groups properly and correctly. The second is training on processing dried squid and shredded fish which begins with the presentation of material to add insight to the target group, namely the business group of fishermen's mothers and then continues with the practice of processing salted dried squid and shredded fish. The areas that are jointly resolved in this activity are product processing innovations which include: basic processing techniques for product raw materials, formulation techniques for processed product ingredients, packaging and labeling techniques, marketing management and business feasibility analysis. Indicators of the success of community service can be seen from the processed products of salted dried squid and shredded fish with flavor variants that have been packaged with labeling, marketing management and business feasibility analysis. After the implementation of the activity, the group that has been formed is expected to continue the program of activities by opening a business for processing squid and shredded fish. Based on the results of the implementation of community service activities, it can be concluded that the stages of the method carried out have succeeded in achieving the objectives of the activity, namely: 1). The group of mothers has been able to process salted dried baby squid and shredded fish. 2). The group of mothers has been able to package and market processed products, although online marketing still needs assistance. 3. This activity inspires the community to be more confident in developing businesses to improve the welfare of coastal communities. 4. This activity is able to create cooperation between higher education institutions and the community.

Abstract

Fitoplankton adalah salah satu mikroorganisme autotrof yang perperan penting dalam mengubah bahan anorganik menjadi bahan organik yang hidup melayang di permukaan perairan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelimpahan, keanekaragaman, keseragaman, dan dominansi fitoplankton di Perairan Desa Baruta Analalaki, Kecamatan Sangia Wambulu Kabupaten Buton Tengah. Penelitian dilaksanakan mulai bulan Oktober sampai dengan November 2022. Alat yang digunakan yaitu Seichidisk, Termometer, Refraktometer, dan Planktonnet. Bahan yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah sampel air yang diambil dari lokasi dan sudah ditentukan pada saat pagi, siang, dan sore hari. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode purposive random sampling, yaitu Metode yang digunakan untuk memudahkan peneliti dalam menentukan lokasi sampling sesuai dengan kriteria yang diinginkan oleh peneliti (Hadi, 2004). Hasil penelitian Menunjukkan bahwa ditemukan tiga kelas fitoplankton yaitu dari kelas Bacillariophyceae, Chlorophyceae, dan Dinophyceae. Dari ketiga kelas tersebut yang paling banyak ditemukan dari kelas Bacillariophyceae. Tingkat kelimpahan fitoplankton tergolong cukup subur yakni terjadi pada siang hari pada jam 12.00-14.00 ditemukan 968-1120 jenis, sedangkan pada pagi dan sore hari justru kelimpahan fitoplankton tergolong sedang. Indeks keanekaragaman rata-rata masuk kategori sedang, namun pada jam 14.00 ditemukan indeks keanekaragaman tinggi yaitu 3,05. Selanjutnya indeks keseragaman menunjukkan kategori rendah. Hal ini disebabkan karena adanya persaingan ruang dan makanan antar jenis fitoplankton. Dominansi pun tergolong rendah artinya tidak ada spesies yang mendominasi. Uji korelasi Pearson antara kelimpahan fitoplankton dan parameter kualitas air memiliki kaitan yang sangat kuat dengan nilai r = 0,715 (kecerahan), dan r = 0,526 (suhu). Analisis regresi memiliki persamaan Y = 1761+183X1+126X2. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan koefisien perbandingan kecerahan dan suhu bernilai positif yang artinya jika terjadi peningkatan sebesar 1 cm maka tingkat kelimpahan fitoplankton akan naik sebesar 183 atau 126 dengan asumsi parameter lainnya konstan. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, nilai kecerahan dan suhu yang tinggi menunjukkan kelimpahan fitoplankton juga tinggi di Perairan Desa Baruta Analalaki.

Abstract

Waste of discarded vegetables can have a negative impact on the environment to health and efforts to use it can provide benefits such as alternative feed tilapia which in turn increases people's income. This study aims to find out the effect of vegetable waste on tilapia growth. While the usefulness of this study as an input material for tilapia farmers about alternative feed for tilapia fish cultivation is seen from the growth and increasing volume of the body. This research was conducted in July to September 2021 at Liabuku Village, Bungi Subdistrict, Baubau City. The method used is an experimental method, while the design used is a Complete Random Design (RAL) with 4 treatment levels and 3 repeats, so there are 12 experimental units. For each treatment tested tilapia fish as many as 10 tails with an average weight of 13.9 grams in each container of soil pond (waring). The treatments used are: Control (Commercial Feed), A Mustard 20% + Cabbage 70% + Kale 10%, B Mustard 50% + Cabbage 40% + Kale 10%, C Mustard 60% + Cabbage 30%+ Kale 10%. The results showed that feeding a combination of kale and bran feed had no real effect on absolute weight growth, survival rates and feed conversion. The highest absolute weight growth rate in C (Sawi is 29.55 grams). And the lowest at A is 27.47 grams. The highest survival rate on the controls (pellets) was 99% and the lowest at A at 93%. Feed conversion rate was highest at C at 10.89% and lowest at A at 15.05%.

Abstract

Bungi sub-district is one of the sub-districts where many people plant sweet star fruit in their yards. Efforts to diversify processed star fruit products have not received much public attention. This is because star fruit has perishable constraints with a short shelf life, making the fruit have low economic value. The purpose of this activity is to create new products from processed starfruit, which is expected to provide benefits to the community as new innovations in processing, and can increase the selling value of starfruit from the previous period. In addition, training activities with local residents provide new knowledge that can be applied independently by farmers and the community in developing optimal business. Community service is held in June. The location of the community service activities is in Bungi District, Baubau City, as the center for producing star fruit. Community assistance activities regarding the manufacture of processed star fruit can increase economic income and form women's hydroponic farmer groups

Abstract

Daerah pesisir sangat rentan terhadap berbagai ancaman sampah yang berasal dari aktivitas masyarakat yang dapat menimbulkan pencemaran disekitar lingkungan perairan pesisir. Pencemaran laut dapat berdampak buruk pada keberlangsungan biota laut, yang secara tidak langsung sangat berbahaya bagi kesehatan manusia jika dikonsumsi dalam rentang waktu tertentu. Sampah anorganik baik yang berasal dari masyarakat setempat maupun yang hanyut di lautan merupakan salah satu sumber pencemar terbesar di wilayah pesisir. Upaya mengembangkan pengetahuan untuk menumbuhkan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pentingnya pengelolaan sampah untuk pencegahan pencemaran dapat dilakukan dengan pemberian pemahaman melalui kegiatan sosialisasi guna meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang dampak yang ditimbulkan oleh sampah. Tujuan yang diharapkan dari kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan bagi para masyarakat tentang dampak limbah rumah tangga yang dibuang ke laut.

Abstract

Mangroves have important ecological and economic functions for nature and humans.Mangrove forest on the coast of Kolagana is one area that provides various benefits to support life for marine life and local communities. But on the other side, the structure and composition of mangroves have not been identified properly. So it is necessary to overcome the area so that the ecological function of the associated ecosystem around it remains sustainable. This study aims to examine the structure and composition of mangrove species on the coast of Kolagana, Baubau City. The results of the study are expected to provide information to stakeholders regarding the types of mangroves found in the research location. Mangrove forest zoning at the research site is dominated by 2 types of mangroves. Zone adjacent to the seadominated by the species Sonnetaria alba, while the inside part zone is dominated by Rhizophora apiculata.
