Abstract

A fire disaster that does not save can certainly cause losses, both in the form of objects and casualties. This occurs for several reasons: late information obtained from the fire department or the owner's ignorance at the time of a fire. In this study, a fire early detection system was built using smoke, heat, and gas sensors based on an SMS gateway and an alarm. This system is used to provide information about fire detection as early as possible to protect against fire disasters. With this system, the potential and risk of fire can be reduced. This system is used to identify potential fires that occur in housing. Several experiments were carried out with fire simulations to get the reaction from the sensors used. Covers smoke testing, temperature testing, gas testing, and SMS message responses from various providers. This research produces a fire early warning system that provides SMS and alarm alerts.

Abstract

With the improvement of sensing technology, the improvement of software and hardware technology and computer operation ability, the digital twin technology has been further developed with the promotion of industrial intelligence and industrial information system. Digital twin technology is gradually applied to the simulation design and optimization of complex production line. The production line of super capacitor is a kind of complex production lines, so many factors need to be considered in the design process. Therefore, the digital twin technology is used to design the production line. In this paper, the plant simulation software of Siemens company is used to simulate the super capacitor production line, so as to verify the rationality of the application of digital twin technology in the complex production line design process, and study the influence of AGV car characteristics on the production line. Simulation in virtual space can well demonstrate the actual production process. The failure and other factors in the actual production process can be replaced in the form of failure rate in the simulation environment. Data statistics and other functions can directly see the changes of various parameters in the production line, to get a better optimization scheme.

Abstract

Earthquake is a vibration  that occur on the surface of the earth, earthquakes are usually caused by the movement of the earth's crust (earth's plates). Earthquakes are also used to indicate the area from which the earthquake occurred. Even though our earth is solid, it always moves and earthquakes occur when the pressure caused by that movement is too large to be able to withstand. One of the effects of the earthquake vibration itself that reaches the earth's surface and if the vibration is large enough can damage buildings and other infrastructure such as roads and bridges, railroad tracks, dams and others, causing casualties and property losses. So that we can avoid the danger caused by an earthquake, it is necessary to design an earthquake detection device with a pendulum swing method based on the ATMega328 Microcontroller. The ATMega328 microcontroller is the core of all the systems that exist in this design. In the design of earthquake measuring device using infrared sensors and photodiodes. Where the infrared beam construction is determined by the pendulum which detects the swing.

Abstract

Fault diagnosis is an important issue in industrial processes to avoid economic losses, process damage, and to guarantee safe working conditions for the operators. For high scale industrial processes the data-driven based methods are the best solution for process monitoring and fault diagnosis. Thus, in this paper, the principal component analysis is shown to detect and isolate faults. Also, a dynamic threshold is implemented to avoid false alarms because incipient faults are difficult to be detected. As a case of study, the Tennessee Eastman (TE) process is used to apply this strategy because the interaction among five units with internal control loops makes difficult to have an approached model. As results are shown the detection times, for cases where were analyzed incipient faults, the time required for fault detection must be improved, in this work, an adaptive threshold was used to reduce the false alarms but it also increases the detection times. It was concluded that the Q chart gave a better result for fault detection; the isolation times were similar to the detection ones. Two incipient faults could not be detected, the fault detection rate was similar to the shown in literature, but the detection times were better in 35% of the cases, unfortunately for four faults the detection times were bigger than the reported in other papers. It is proposed to help this method with independent component analysis due it is not guaranteed to have a Gaussian distribution in the samples.

Abstract

Wind is a renewable energy that is used for electrical energy in several countries. Indonesia is one of the countries that utilizes wind energy for electrical energy. The potential for wind in Indonesia is located in coastal areas. To apply the potential for wind in urban areas is very difficult because the wind speed is very low. From this problem, this paper presents a windmill using fiberglass. Fiberglass is an alloy or mixture as a composite material which has the characteristics of light weight, easy shape, and low cost. The aim is to analyze the mechanical properties of fiberglass composite materials in the application of blades or vanes in savionus windmills. This study uses the hand lay-up method and the mechanical testing method for tensile strength and impact which aims to determine the material properties of the blade of the savonius windmill. Based on the tensile test, the average tensile strength of random fiberglass composite and 200gr 2-layer woven roving was 49.52 MPa with an average modulus of elasticity of 21.88 Gpa. For the Charphy impact test, the average impact strength is 0.035 joules / mm2 with the energy absorbed is 0.7046 joules.

Abstract

The Analyses for power systems are more necessary for the designing, operating phase execution control and to make sure safe network operations by sufficient protection project settings. In this article, we have prepared a sufficient scientific survey about the electrical model of a 340 MW integrated solar combined cycle system (ISCCS) located in the Iraqi southern, is developed and simulation by a program called Electrical Transient Analyzer Program (ETAP) and carry out throw this program the load flow, voltage stability and short circuit analyses for this power plant with part of the national grid in Al-Basra city in an industrial region. The effect of voltage instability for the grid on system buses (load buses) of the power system is estimated. By using load flow analysis as a case study by using the Newton-Raphson algorithm, when the load buses operating at down voltage because of instability voltage of the power grid are specified and their voltages are should to improved according to given voltage limitations that are depended on buses criticality with regard to loads. The appliance on-load tap changers of the transformer and reactive power compensation are used to improve steady-state voltage stability for any instability system. The method of the optimal position for capacitor banks placement is meaning the number of capacitor banks is proposed to adding to the weak buses by using the optimal capacitor placement module of ETAP. Energy is actually required for the expansion of our country. To sustain the generation of electric power at an adequate level power system supplies power to different types of loads that are located far away from the generating plants using transmission lines.

Abstract

Dehydration is a condition where the body are lack of fluids. It is because the amount of fluid that enter in the body is less of fluid than the discharge. Dehydration is something that cannot be ignored. The high incidence of dehydration is due to the difficulty of seeing the signs and symptoms of dehydration for ordinary people. This tool is designed to handle the level of human dehydration by seeing whether the urine is normal or abnormal, whether is it mild dehydration, or severe dehydration. It can handled based on the color of the urine using a tool named Light Emitting Diode Sensor (LED) and a light dependent resistor (LDR). Tool innovation is the use of rechargeable batteries and a charger module to make it easier for users to recharge exhausted batteries. On the LCD also displays the proportion of the battery to make it easier for users to see the remaining battery weaponry. This tool is expected to be able to check the dehydration among the public in order to achieve the public health status. After the process of designing, testing, collecting and analyzing data on 15 samples and reading 20 times for each sample, the result is that the tool can work well, can measure the level of dehydration according to the human urine with an average value of 62.10. The reading results that appear on the LCD are the same or according to the level of dehydration shown on the urine color chart.
