Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh berbagai taraf pemberian tanaman chicory (Cichorium intybus) dalam ransum sapi potong terhadap kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik (in vitro). Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan Rancangan Aacak Lengkap (RAL). Terdapat lima perlakuan berupa ransum lengkap yang dijadikan kosentrat dengan penggunaan berbagai dosis tanaman chicory (Cichorium intybus) yaitu P0 (ransum mengandung 0% chicory), P1 (ransum mengandung 10% chicory), P2 (ransum mengandung 20% chicory), P3 ( ransum mengandung 30% chicory), dan P4 (ransum mengandung 40% chicory). Setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak empat kali. Peubah yang diamati adalah  kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan sidik ragam (ANOVA) kemudian diuji menggunakan Uji Duncan untuk perbedaan respon percobaan terhadap perlakuan yang diberikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan antara perlakuan terhadap kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik secara in vitro pada sapi potong. Nilai kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik tertinggi pada penelitian ini dihasilkan pada P3 masing-masing sebesar 80,92% dan 70,42%. Penggunaan tanaman Chicory P3 (Cichorium intybus) sebanyak 30% dalam ransum merupakan yang terbaik terhadap kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik secara in vitro pada sapi potong. Abstract

The profile breeder's is a description of person in general depending on which aspect he looks at, starting from age, gender, education and experience influence the use forage in Tebing Tinggi Barat District by utilizing mangrove leaves (Rizophora apiculata) as an alternative feed. The purpose of study was to determine the profile of farmers and the nutritional quality of mangrove leaves (Rizophora apiculata). This research was carried out from March to April 2021 in Tebing Tinggi Barat District and the Laboratory of Nutrition and Feed Technology, Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Science, Sultan Syarif Kasim State Islamic University, Riau. The method used is interview and analysis nutritional quality of mangrove.  The results showed that 90% of farmers gave mangrove leaves as forage it can be sean from the age of the highest breeder was 39-50 years, with gender 80% male, and education level 40% high school, and 70% own livestock ownership, had an average of 6-9 goats 55%, farmer occupation 40 %, experience raising more than 5 years 40%, household dependents 1-3 people 71%. Based on the nutritional quality of mangrove leaf meal (Rizophora apiculata) it has 27.62% Dry Matter, 72.37% Moisture water, 6.70% Crude Protein, 13.49% Crude Fiber, 3.33% Crude Fat, 11.65% Ash Content, 64.79% Nitrogen Free Extract ingredient, and 64.93% Total Digestible Nutrient. The conclusion of the study is that farmers are old and do not get information and new innovations and based on proximate analysis of mangrove leaves (Rizophora apiculata) can be used as forage for livestock.Keywords: leaves mangrove, nutritional quality, profile breeder

Abstract

Research on mixed cultivation of Brachiaria decumbens grass with three different types of legumes on ultisol soils on the PK, SK, Ca, and P content of grass was carried out from April to July 2022 at the Experimental Garden of Animal Food Crops Laboratory, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Padjadjaran University. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of mixed cultivation of Brachiaria decumbens grass with three different types of legumes on ultisol soils on the PK, SK, Ca, and P content of grass. The study was conducted for 3 months with an experimental method using a randomized block design (RAK) with 4 treatments and 6 replications. This experiment consisted of P0 = Brachiaria decumbens grass, P1 = Brachiaria decumbens grass + Arachis pintoi grass, P2 = Brachiaria decumbens grass + Canavalia gladiata legume, P3 = Brachiaria decumbens grass + Centrosema pubescens legume. The results showed that the mixed cropping treatment of Brachiaria decumbens grass with three types of legumes significantly affected the PK, SK, and P content of the grass, but did not significantly differ on the Ca content of the grass. Mixed cultivation of Brachiaria decumbens grass with sword koro beans (Canavalia gladiata) resulted in the highest average crude protein content and the lowest crude fiber, namely 12% and 23.32%, respectively. Planting a mixture of Brachiaria decumbens grass with Arachis pintoi produced the highest average phosphorus content of 0.57%.

Abstract

Sorghum plants can be developed in Indonesia as feed for ruminants. This is due to agro-ecological conditions that can be tolerant of land conditions in Indonesia. Dry land can be used for the growth of sorghum because sorghum is a cereal with low water content. The harvest method can be carried out at the age of 85 days  to 90 days, due to the high content of organic matter, dry matter, and crude protein. By-products of sorghum or sorghum waste in the form of leaves and stems can be used as forage for ruminants. Antinutrient substances in sorghum can be processed with silage technology to maintain nutrients, feed reserves for a long time, and increase digestibility in the rumen of ruminants to increase feed efficiency.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to know the effect of variety on high plants and node of corn forage by knowing which varieties of corn gave the highest yield to plant heigt and node of corn forage. This research was conducted from February – April 2022 located in experimental garden in Forage Crop Laboratory, Animal Husbandry Faculty, Universitas Padjadjaran. This study used experimental method with randomized block design (RBD). There were four treatments used P1 = Bonanza varieties, P2 = Janisa varieties, P3= Asian 86 varieties and P4 = Sweet Lady varieties with six replications. The observed variables included plant height and node of corn plants. The result of statistical showed that the treatment of various varieties of corn had significant effect on plant height, and produced the highest plant height varieties of Janisa which is 175,42 cm, varieties of Bonanza which is 172,18 cm and varieties of Asia which is 161,58 cm and showed had no significant (P>0.05) on node of corn plants.
