Abstract

Writing is a process in order to convey an idea, a short message, and an opinion to the reader using symbols or language symbols. The short story is the presentation of a separate situation or a group of circumstances that gives a single message to the reader's soul. Writing a short story is an activity to arrange words into a written work that can give a single message to the soul of the reader. The purpose of this study was to improve students' ability in writing short stories using the inquiry method. This research uses Classroom Action Research (CAR) with implementation procedures consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Botomuzoi with 18 subjects, 10 boys and 8 girls. This activity was carried out in two cycles using data collection techniques, observation sheets, and assessment sheets. Data were analyzed in three stages, namely data reduction, data exposure, and conclusions. From the results of this study, it is evident that there is an increase in students' ability in writing short stories using the inquiry method. This is evident in the research findings of each cycle, namely cycle I with the average value achieved by students of 65.84. Whereas in cycle II there was an increase with the highest result with an average value of 86.38. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the inquiry method can improve students' abilities in writing short stories and students are more active in the learning process. Researchers suggest the following: for teachers to familiarize students with writing short stories using the inquiry method, for future researchers, in order to find factors that influence the inquiry method in short story writing material.

Abstract

This classroom action research aims to describe the increase in the ability to identify the structure and elements of the explanatory text language using the problem-based learning (PBL) model for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Parmonangan for the 2020/2021 academic year. Based on observations, the ability of students of SMP Negeri 2 Pamonangan in terms of identify structures and language elements is still low. This is evidenced by the specified minimum completeness criteria value of 75 which has not been achieved. Classically completeness with data that the final score of students from learning outcomes is still much below the minimum completeness criteria (KKM). If the percentage is not more than 70%. Based on the implementation in 3 cycles, the research hypothesis is obtained as follows "There is an increase in the skills to identify the structure and elements of the explanatory text language of students in class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Parmonangan Tapanuli Utara with a problem-based learning (PBL) learning model." This can be seen in the results of data analysis on learning outcomes in each cycle that has increased. Cycle 1, the average value of 73.7 classical absorptions of 73.7%, and classical learning completeness of 66.7%. Cycle II average value of 78.8, classical absorption. In cycle III, the average value is 80.5. This means that the students' learning completeness value at SMP Negeri 2 Parmonangan Tapanuli Utara increased.

Abstract

This study discusses the problems faced by grade IX studentsat SMP Methodist Berastagi. This study aims to improve students' ability to convert news texts into dialogue with theCooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC)learning modelin class IX students of SMP Methodist Berastagi in the 2020/2021 academic year. This research is a Classroom Action Research (PTK).The subjects ofthisstudywere 35 students of grade IX at SMP Methodist Berastagi in the odd semester of the 2020/2021 academic year. From the results of the analysis, it appears that using theCooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC)learning model To improve students' ability to convert news texts into dialogues, there was a significant change compared to before using the model.Based on these results it can be concluded that the use of theCooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC)learning model in solving the problems faced by these students is an effective way to improve student abilities.

Abstract

The type of research used in this research is classroom action research where action research is research that has the aim of improving the quality of learning in the classroom so that there are improvements in the classroom. The purpose of this study was to improve students' mathematical communication skills in learning integer material through Think Pair Share (TPS) learning strategies. The subjects of this study were class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Tigabinanga for the academic year 2014/2015 Class VII-1 with a total of 38 students. In accordance with this type of research, this research has several stages which are cycles. Based on the results of the research presented in Chapter IV, conclusions can be drawn that learning by applying the Think Pair Share (TPS) strategy can improve students' mathematical communication skills seen from the increase in the average test results of students in cycle I and cycle II. The results of the student's mathematical communication ability test in the first cycle obtained an average score of 2.51 with a student's mathematical communication ability level of 60.52% or a low category. In the second cycle, the average score of the students' mathematical communication ability test reached 2.91 with the students' mathematical communication ability level of 84.21% or the medium category. This means that the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning strategy can improve students' mathematical communication skills, especially on integer material in class VII SMP Negeri 1 Tigabinanga academic year 2014/2015.

Abstract

The data collection tool used was a written test, namely making a summary of the story of the legend of Malin Kundang, with assessment criteria, namely point 2 length of the summary, main idea, explanatory idea, use of words and sentences according to the contents of the summary with the reading. before the indicator is determined as a means of collecting research data, it is first validated by the three Indonesian language study teachers in a triangulation manner until it is declared fit for use. After the legend manuscript was administered to the respondent, it was processed statistically; with the results as the interval 71-85. Second, from the results of observations of the level of ability obtained information: 1) a description of student learning outcomes in learning obtained data, namely: students who have a high level of ability are 16 people or 40.504%, students who have a moderate level of ability are 9 people or 24.32%, students who have a low level of ability are 13 people or 34.14%. 2) a description of student learning outcomes for each item of question is obtained: for item 1 (ability level 36 people, and medium ability level 1 person), for item 2 (high ability level 22 people, medium ability level 7 people, low ability level 8 people ), for icon 3 (high ability level 24 people, medium ability level 5 people, low ability level 8 people), for item 4 (high ability level 25 people, medium ability level 6 people, medium ability level 7 people, low ability level 28 people) based on the description above, it can be concluded that the students' ability to write a narrative paragraph framework is classified as moderate. This statement is stated as moderate because of the variation in the abilities of students where there are good performers and some are low. So that to determine it, take the middle way, namely moderate.

Abstract

This study aimed to see or describe the effect of cooperative learning type think talk write assisted by GeoGebra software on students' critical thinking at SMA Al-Hidayah Medan. In the current learning period, there are still many students who use the memorization learning method, without knowing how the formula process actually works. Certainly, there is no student's ability to think critically to make them understand the formulas given by the teachers. This study used a quantitative approach, with the SPSS analysis tool and the ANOVA test. The results obtained that the group score of the GeoGebra-assisted TTW learning model and the ordinary learning model obtained a value of Fcount = 9.406 Ftable = 3.140 and with sig = 0.003. Because the sig level is less than 0.05, so Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted. So it can be concluded that there is an effect of using the TTW type cooperative learning model with the help of GeoGebra software on students' mathematical critical thinking skills.
