Abstract

This study explains the construction of knowledge among members of the Sholawat Bhenning Community in Situbondo. By using social construction theory, this research describes the reality of the community based on the experience of the Bhenning prayer members. The research method used was qualitative, with in-depth interviews toward members of Sholawat Bhenning. The results of this study are the participation of members in the prayer activities carried out by the Bhenning group has changed bad behavior into good behavior. Members have many reasons to join the Sholawat Bhenning community. 1) Members want to learn about theater; 2) Members were fascinated by Karisma Kyai Aza Ibrahimy, 3) Members wished to gain knowledge from the group of Sholawat Bhenning; 4) members wanted to get merit from Allah Subhanahu wata'ala. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the construction of students' knowledge of disaster through curriculum 13. This research conducts in two schools, namely SDIT Harapan Ummat Jember and SD Muhammadiyah 01 Jember. Knowledge of the disaster is vital, especially to children who are in the category of vulnerable people. This study used a qualitative descriptive method. Through the theory of social construction (Peter Berger and Thomas Luckman), the researcher analyzes the data. The development of the student's knowledge acquired from books disaster curriculum 13, which is then developed by teachers to increase understanding of the students. The school is also working with the relevant agencies such as regional disaster management agencies, the University of Jember, and Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Center to provide more in-depth knowledge to their students. In the process, the students acquire knowledge Externalization of the disaster through the materials on curriculum 13 on environment and disaster. Later in the process of objectivation, student's understanding of the catastrophe was strengthened with new learning media provided by the teacher by showing videos and photos on disaster occurrence. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify L-Men Ads critically through representations of five actors. It is done to dismantle the process of forming male masculinity images in L-Men advertisements through visual methods with the syntagmatic approach of Roland Barthes. Roland Barthes's semiotic analysis is used to find patterns and intrinsic elements of the masculinity that are built into advertising. The myths of masculine men are depicted by certain types of sports, accessories, hairstyles, clothing, clothing colors, handsome faces, muscular body shapes, fancy place settings, and sexy women. The characters that are considered masculine are man with a muscular body, a man whose sportsmanship, man as new warriors, and man as a hero. L'Men Gain Mass wants to create pseudo masculinity by incorporating ideological values ​​that blend with images, fantasies, and dreams. These values ​​have been built successfully through the role of Copy Writer, and Visualizer in packaging L'men Gain Mass products, which are then well communicated and mixed with consumerism ideology. The commodification of L'men Gain Mass milk has succeeded in building an image of male masculinity on dexterity, handsome face, and favored by women who are then internalized into the product. Abstract

Dragon fruit farmers in Kedungasri Village, Banyuwangi Regency, have logical rationality in maintaining dragon fruit farming. Farmers assume that this crop is more profitable than other plants such as oranges, melons, watermelons, and others. Dragon fruit is a one-time crop, and farmers can harvest many times. Although like oranges, farmers have to wait one year to be able to collect them. The theory used in this study is the theory of farmers' rationality, according to Popkin (1979). While the research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach. The findings of this study are the dragon fruit farmers have their techniques and strategies to increase profits. Besides, the secret competition also takes place between them to increase fruit productivity and quality. Unfortunately, farmers experience a dilemma in the agricultural business. The dilemma experienced by farmers is weak market access and lack of protection from the state for the market. Farmers also have difficulty getting fertilizers and medicines, and there is no help from the government to improve agriculture. Abstract

This study focuses on sexual negotiations carried out by women because of the marital rape that their husbands did. Marital rape itself is a form of violence or forced sexual activity of a husband to his wife. Where, in this case, there are women's rights violated. It is based on the dichotomous ideal role of women and men in marriage, which is a manifestation of gender status that has implications for the division and subordination of sexuality to women. The researcher used the theory of feminist existentialism Simone de Beauvoir, to show the position of women as a socio-culture and sexually subordinated people and women's ability to demonstrate their existence through sexual negotiations in marriage. This study used qualitative feminist methods by using in-depth interviews with seven women who experienced problems with marital rape in their marriage. The results of this study are that sexual negotiation is created because of sexual injustice in the form of marital rape experienced by women in their marriages, where the sexual negotiation room is used by women to bargain with their husbands or even themselves. This process of negotiation shows that women can also fight or show their existence in marriage. It means that women do not have to sacrifice their marriage to be able to show their existence. Abstract

This research was motivated by the formation of a conservative attitude and consistency of the Tengger Wonokitri tribe in carrying out traditional rituals and living habits according to ancestral teachings. This consistent life attitude is influenced by the existence of the dukun Pandhita who is known as the leader of traditional rituals. Moreover, Dukun Pandhita gives social control to his community. In the reality of Tengger tribe Wonokitri's life, people face the influence of modernity and tourism. Therefore, local cultural preservation efforts are essential to do. This study aims to determine and describe the role of the dukun Pandhita in social control as an effort to preserve the local culture of the Tengger tribe in Wonokitri Village. By using qualitative research methods and ethnographic approaches, researcher gain the data. The technique used to determine the informant is the snowball technique. The results showed, in the effort to preserve the local culture, Pandhita shamans planted value and preventive through traditional rituals and daily living habits.
