Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menguji apakah implicit tax memiliki pengaruh terhadap explicit tax dalam konteks Foreign Direct Investment untuk perusahaan-perusahaan yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia periode 2010-2013. Sampel penelitian ini sebanyak 34 perusahaan, setelah dikurangi outlier sebanyak 6 data, sampel penelitian menjadi 130 data. Penelitian ini menggunakan regresi berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implicit tax memiliki pengaruh positif yang tidak signifikan terhadap explicit tax. Hal ini disebabkan karena peranan dari perencanaan pajak dan friksi pasar di Indonesia yang memperlemah pengaruh tersebut.The aim of this study was to test whether the implicit tax has an influence on tax explicitly in the context of Foreign Direct Investment for the companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange 2010-2013. The study sample as many as 34 companies, net of outlier as much as 6 data, the sample to 130 data. This study uses multiple regression. The results showed that the implicit tax that does not have a significant positive influence on the explicit tax. This is because the role of tax planning and friction market in Indonesia, which weakens the influence.

Abstract

This study used data of manufacturing companies listed on the Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) as   unit of analysis. The purpose of this study is to find out the influence of voluntary disclosures and audit quality on information asymmetry. This study also aims to determine the effect of voluntary disclosure, audit quality and information asymmetry on stock return. In addition, this study aims to find out the ability of information asymmetry to mediate the effect of voluntary disclosure and audit quality on information asymmetry.This research used verificative-descriptive method with quantitative approach. The analytical method used in statistical data processing was path analysis. There are 132 manufacturing companies listed on JSX became the research samples of this study.The testing results shows that there are significant impact of voluntary disclosure and audit quality on information asymmetry. The testing results also show that there are significant impact of voluntary disclosure and information asymmetry on stock return, while the audit quality has no significant impact on stock return. At the same time, information asymmetry is significant to be the mediating variable on the impact of voluntary disclosure and audit quality towards stock return. Voluntary disclosure, audit quality and information asymmetry can be the determinant variables on Stock Return of manufacturing companies, listed on JSX.

Abstract

This study aims to prove differences in the level of the role of accountant and the implementation of strategic management accounting based on ethnicity categories of hotel owners. The study is conducted with quantitative methods using primary data through a survey of hotel general managers/leaders in the Sumatra region. A total of 395 questionnaires are distributed to the hotel general managers/leaders. The number of questionnaires used in this study is 224. Mann-Whitney nonparametric tests for two independent samples analysis is used to test research hypotheses. The results of the study indicate that there are differences in the role of accountant and the implementation of strategic management accounting based on differences in ethnicity of the hotel owners.

Abstract

The development of family firms led to increase the funding requirement for expansion. Family firms can obtain funds from capital market by doing initial public offering (IPO). The aims of this research is to know the influence of CEO power using proxy of CEO voting right, CEO tenure, and CEO interlock on IPO premium, and the influence of family CEO on IPO premium. This research uses 65 samples of family firm in Indonesia during 2001-2014. The result of multiple regression showed that CEO voting right, CEO interlock, and family CEO are positive significantly affect IPO premium. This finding reveal that when investors make investment decision on IPO’s firms, they will evaluate the quality of firm’s CEO. Also, the presence of family CEO increase investor’s valuation on company shares that increase IPO premium.

Abstract

This research examines the influence of Corporate Governance on Firm Performance measured by Tobin's Q and Financial Distress measured by Z-score. The samples used were 72 companies engaged in the manufacturing industry are listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) for five years from 2011 to 2015. The analytical methods used in this research is panel data regression, discriminant analysis, and logistic regression. The results showed that (I) there is no significant impact between corporate governance practices on firm performance. (2) there is negative impact between corporate governance practices on financial distress. Then, the companies need to increase corporate governance in order to avoid possibility of financial distress and for the investor before making an investment should consider the factors that affect the firm performance and financial distress

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to obtain empirical evidence about the effects ofleverage, institutional ownership,and firm size on tax avoidance of the manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange from 2010-2012. Tax avoidance is a dependent variable, while leverage, institutional ownership, and firm size are independent variables. The data used are secondary data and sample of 170 financial statements of listed companies on the Indonesian Stock Exchange from 2010-2012. This research used non-random sampling. The sampling used purposive sampling and the data were analyzed by using multiple linear regression analysis. Data were analyzed using SPSS software 21 version. The result of the research showed that leverage has no significant effects on tax avoidance, while institutional ownership and firm risk have significant effects on tax avoidance. To get better research results, further researches may add other variables that have major impact probabilities, use companies other than manufacturing, and extend the period of study.

Abstract

The main objective of this study is to assess the quality of accrual accounting implementation in Indonesia local governments. In the context of Indonesia local government, to the author's knowledge, this study is the first in proposing a concept to assess the quality of accrual accounting, which is based on the timeliness of transaction recognition. The quality of accrual accounting is assessed through five types of accrual transactions, which are converting assets to expenses transactions, accruing unpaid expenses transactions, accruing unpaid assets transactions, accruing uncollected revenues transactions, and converting liabilities to revenues transactions. This research is descriptive qualitative research because this research aims to provide facts about quality of accrual accounting implementation in Indonesia local government. The data used in this study is primary data in the form of questionnaires obtained directly from the respondents. The respondents of this study are people who have experience in preparing the local government financial statements. Results of this study are, first, the quality of accrual accounting implementation in Indonesia is low with the quality score of 48.57%. Second, there is no significant difference in the quality of accrual accounting implementation in local government with unqualified opinions and local government with qualified  opinions. Third, there is no significant difference in the quality of accrual accounting implementation among types of local governments, namely regency local government, municipal local government, and provincial local government.

Abstract

Tax revenue in Indonesia until 2014 contributed approximately 78% of total state revenue. This shows that the tax is important both for the country as a source of income, as well as for the company as a taxpayer. For companies, the tax to be paid is a burden for the company which will reduce net income. Based on earlier research, the management company will tend to act aggressive tax in financial reporting. Tax aggressiveness influenced also by the pattern of ownership of the company in which the role of corporate governance are expected to influence the direction of the management decision-making. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of financial reporting aggressiveness, family ownership and corporate governance against tax aggressiveness. The samples are all companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) except finance, insurance and banks during the period 2010-2014. The method used is multiple regression method. The results showed that the audit committee and institutional ownership has a significant influence on the aggressiveness of the taxes while the aggressiveness of financial reporting and the ownership of the family did not have a significant effect on the aggressiveness of the tax.
