Abstract

The result of research  accomplished  showed  that the stem of palm oil plant  is able to made as pulp.  Choice the caustic process  cooking  was based on easy to do an a low costoperation.  The process  has two step activities.  The stem of palm oil plant as raw material have been degraded  by micro organism.  The first step  the  cooking  was done  at the  open  atmosfer   with  concentration   of the cooking  solution  1.50 % NaOH and 2 hours duration  with yield product of 78 %. The second step of the cooking  was  made at the boiler and 3atsms operation pressure   approximate   temperature    1400 C).  The  concentration   of  cooking solution  5 % NaOH and 4 hours cooking   duration  with yield product  of 72.5%. Total yield of pulp from cooking stem of palm oil plant approximate  57,5%. The sample  of paper mixture  that have percentage   at dry weight composition  40% paper  of kraft  waste  sack of cement  and  60% stem  of palm  oil plant  to give tensile  index  maximal  0,0153  kN   m/gr and tearing  index  21.6949 mN   m2/gr compare  with minimum   value  tensile  index  and  tearing  index  from  SNI.  14-1308 1998.

Abstract

There are some shocking fact that found in food, such as wet noodle, meat balls,  tofu, chicken  meat,  fish and    cracker products  contain  a  very dangerous ingredient which is formaldehyde and borax.  To replace this dangerous ingredient we can use wood vinegar. Phenol and organic acid is an ingredient in wood vinegar that can acts as anti bacterial or bacteriostatic. The combination of these can work effectively against microbe growth. Phenol compound also have a great antioxidant activities. It's    much practical and hygiene when using wood vinegar as a food preservetive., in smoke process we can control taste, color and odor of the product, much quickly than the traditional ways. This preservative also decrease carcinogenic contain in preserving food. Its can avoid tar compound deposit and polysiclic aromatic hydrocarbon compound can be decrease until two order.

Abstract

Modification was clipper of nata de coco with system work appliance owning knife block of athwart and lengthwise direction by using conveyor as conductor of nata de coco.Clipper modification of nata de coco consist of 3(three) part of : knife block as part of functioning cut nata (knife block consist of 2 part of that is part of athwart and lengthwise), conveyor as conductor of nata de coco step into knife block, and workbench as part of uniting knife block and of conveyor. From result of test of performance appliance got crosscut ability 182 kg/hour.Difference of appliance capacities before and after modified equal to 1.4 times or there is 45,6 %. Energy at this appliance equal to 1300 watt. Tecno economic to the effort nata de coco by using this clipper is value of BEP Rp.160.310.850,7..percentage of  BEP 35,28%.capacities 246,63 kg with time return capital 2,5 year.

Abstract

Bawang tiwai (Eleutherine americana L. Merr) has chemical compound such as carbohydrate, protein, fat, alkaloid, flavonoid, carbocylate acid, aldehyde­ keton, thanin and phenol. Bawang tiwai is used by the ethnic of Dayak in Eas Kalimantan for spicy and medicine. Information about this chemical compound should be studied further and one of the study is to know the characteristic and activity of bawang tiwai as antimicrobial activity. The extract of bawang tiwai using methanol solvent has characteristic of brown concentrated solid (gummy), non crystalin, non aromatic and the extract of bawang tiwai using the solvent of n-tiexene. dietil ether and elit acetate has a characteristic of yellow brownies solid, bit oil, and both extractives are dissolved in acetone and methanol. Repeated seperetion with hexen, etil acetate, benzene-acetone using a coloum chromatography resulted in old yellow to brown fraction and aromatic. The fraclions resulted by step one and two separation are able to resist the growth of salmonella thypi and Bacillus cereus.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the effect of substrate concentration on enzymatic hydrolysis reaction of CPO. CPO was hydrolized by water and catalized by lipase enzymes. Amount of water was varied of 50 grams; 100 grams;  150 grams  and  200  grams.  The result  showed  that  substrate concentration had effect on glycerol content and Michaelis Constant (Km).13,28 % glycerol content and   2,04x 10-2 M (gmo/lml) Michaelis Constancy (Km) were produced at 625,86 mg/ml substrate concentration

Abstract

The influence of the substitution of rice husk flour and cassava flour in industrial flour to the increase of plywood bonding strength. The research of the addition of rice hush flour to substitute industrial flour in plywood glueing has been  done. A preliminary  research has specified  the property  of industrial flour needed as an extender in a plywood glueing and the role of rice hush flour and cassava flour in that process. Some parameters such as the content of carbohydrate, lignin, moisture, particle size and ash had been tested. Theaim of this research is to substitute industrial flour with rice husk flour. Based on the previous research, cassava flour can substitute industrial flour with ratio 60 : 40 and 50 : 50. In this research, rice husk flour has been used to substitute the proportion of cassava flour in that two ratios above. Another  inggridients  in the  used glueing formula  were industrial flour, cassava flour, urea formaldehyde, hardener, and veneer from Meranti ( B1) and Kapur (B2). The result of this research shows that the content of lignin, cellulose and carbohydrate of rice husk was high enough to influence the process of plywood glueing. The result of all delamination testing were passed or 100% of all specimen passed delamination testing.
