Abstract

Background: Factors that can influence the success of the educational process are family environmental factors, school environment, and community environment. The role of parents is to provide materials and help their children when they experience difficulties in the learning process. Language skills emerge in early childhood and are critical in promoting later literacy competencies, such as reading and writing. The period from birth to age 3 is critical for language development, as nearly all typically developing children acquire important language skills by age 3. During this period, children's home environment is especially important, as parents are the main providers of language input and support, allowing most children to acquire a basic foundation of language. Methods: This study used a cross sectional study design, which was conducted in Surakarta City. A sample of 100 people was selected using a random sampling technique. Data collection was performed using a questionnaire and analyzed by path analysis. Results: The direct relationship between expressive language abilities of children who have mothers with higher education is 2.2 units higher than children with mothers with low education (b=2.2; 95% CI= 0.9 to 3.5; p= 0.001). A high home literacy environment had a log odd of experiencing good expressive language skills of 2.04 units higher than children with a low home literacy environment (b=2.04; 95% CI= 0.7 to 3.3; p= 0.002). The indirect relationship between maternal higher education and expressive language abilities through the child's home literacy environment is statistically significant. Children who have mothers with higher education have log odd for high language expressive abilities of 2.8 units higher than children with mothers with low education (b=2.8; 95% CI= 1.7 to 3.9; p= <;0.001).  Conclusion: A child's good expressive language abilities are influenced indirectly by the mother's high education through a high home literacy environment.

Abstract

Background: Anemia, commonly known as a deficiency in blood, influences individual behavior. Higher knowledge about anemia before conception correlates with a greater awareness of nutritional needs. Preventing anemia in preconception women involves iron tablet consumption, while dates serve as an alternative means to prevent anemia. This study aims to ascertain the influence of anemia knowledge, date consumption, and iron tablet intake on hemoglobin levels among prospective pregnant women at the Klaten Selatan Community Health Center. This research heald on January to September 2023 in the operational area of the Klaten Selatan Community Health Center. Methods: This research adopts a pre-experimental design employing a one- group pretest-posttest study. Purposive Random Sampling method is used, encompassing 40 research subjects. The dependent variable is hemoglobin levels, while the independent variables are knowledge about anemia, date consumption, and iron tablets. Data collection involves primary data through questionnaire responses and observation sheets. Research analysis includes univariate analysis, bivariate analysis utilizing the Spearman Rho test for knowledge variables and the Friedman test for date and iron tablet consumption variables. Results: There is a significant impact of knowledge about anemia (p = 0.000), date consumption (p = 0.0094), and iron tablet intake (p = 0.0073) on hemoglobin levels among prospective pregnant women. Conclusion: Knowledge about anemia influences hemoglobin levels, and there is an increase in hemoglobin levels after consuming dates and iron tablets among prospective pregnant women at the Klaten Selatan Community Health Center.

Abstract

Introduction: Breast milk is known to have good nutritional content, following WHO recommendations regarding the importance of exclusive breastfeeding for babies during the first six months. The factors inhibiting the release of breast milk are very diverse, and one way to overcome this is by giving a combination of lavender aromatherapy oil and oxytocin massage by massaging the back area of the spine. Combining these two methods can influence the flow of breast milk to increase the release of the hormone oxytocin. The research aimed to identify the effect of a combination of lavender aromatherapy oil and oxytocin massage on the smooth flow of breast milk in breastfeeding mothers. Methods: This type of research is pre-experimental with a one-group pretest-posttest design approach. The number of respondents was 30 breastfeeding mothers using the accidental sampling research method according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The independent variable combines lavender aromatherapy oil and oxytocin massage, given three times a week according to the SOP for 15-20 minutes for each respondent. The dependent variable is smooth breastfeeding, conducting interviews and observations before and after the intervention. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon test.Result: The research results before the intervention were that half of the respondents had good breastfeeding fluency, namely 15 people (50%), and after being given the intervention, most respondents had good breastfeeding fluency, namely 20 people (66.7%). The Wilcoxon test results showed a p value of 0.000, which means that there is an effect of giving a combination of lavender aromatherapy oil and oxytocin massage on the smooth flow of breast milk in breastfeeding mothers. Conclusion: It is hoped that the results of this research can be applied to support exclusive breastfeeding and used as a source of information, reference, and comparison in handling breast milk disorders in breastfeeding mothers for further research

Abstract

Background: The process of development and growth during toddlerhood is determined by the food consumed every day. Giving the body the appropriate nutrition it needs will produce good development. However, various obstacles often occur, such as eating disorders in children. One of the eating disorders in children is the habit of refusing food and being picky about food, often called picky eating, which will have an impact on their nutritional status. Thin or poor nutritional status in children under five can put them at risk of stunting. Stunting is a physical growth disorder characterized by a decrease in growth rate and the impact of a nutritional imbalance. Methods: This research is quantitative, with a type of observational analytical research. This research was conducted from January to October 2023 in Tirtomoyo, Wonogiri, with a population of 55 children and a sample of 50 children. A questionnaire was developed by researchers based on the Picky Eating Behavior Rating Scale and Transcultural Nursing Theory. Whereas the connection between variables is analyzed using the analysis of simple linear regression through ANOVA and power tables, the influence between variables is observed through the model summary table on value correlation (R). The license number of research is 071/277.Result: There is an influence of the behavior of picky eaters against the incidence of stunting among toddlers in the Tirtomoyo, Wonogiri, with a level of significance (Sig.) of 0.004 and a value coefficient determination (R square) of 0.164.Conclusion: The behavior of picky eaters can influence the incidence of stunting in children. Keywords: Behavior picky food (Picky Eating), Stunting, Toddlers
