Abstract

This study aims to describe students' critical thinking skills in solving trigonometry problems in terms of their Mathematical Growth Mindset level. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with high school students from a school in Palembang as subjects. These students are classified into high, medium, and low growth mindset categories. Data were collected through questionnaires, context-based critical thinking tests on trigonometry, and in-depth interviews. Data analysis was conducted based on critical thinking ability indicators, namely interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference. The results showed that students with a high mathematical growth mindset were able to consistently meet all critical thinking indicators. Students with a moderate growth mindset were able to meet the indicators of interpretation, analysis, and inference, but were not yet optimal in the evaluation indicator because they still relied on intuitive reasoning and did not perform explicit mathematical checks. Meanwhile, students with a low growth mindset showed limitations in almost all critical thinking indicators. These findings indicate that Mathematical Growth Mindset plays an important role in the quality of students' critical thinking in trigonometry. Therefore, mathematics learning needs to be designed to foster a growth mindset in order to continuously improve students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This paper introduces the concept of fully generalized modules as an extension of classical module theory over generalized algebraic structures. We prove that every fully generalized module forms a normal generalized group and contains abelian subsets. We further establish the existence of a trivial fully generalized submodule and show that the family of fully generalized submodules is closed under sums and intersections. In addition, we prove the existence of fully generalized module homomorphisms and derive their elementary properties. These results extend existing work on generalized modules and provide a broader theoretical framework for studying module-like structures in generalized algebra. Potential directions for future research include the study of direct sums, fully generalized torsion modules, and fully generalized vector spaces. Abstract

Cryptography plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of digital data, particularly image files that are susceptible to alteration or mani pulation. This study aims to compare the MD5, SHA-1, and SHA-256 hash algorithms in detecting changes in 30 e-KTM image files in JPG format. Each file was processed using all three algorithms and then tested by altering a single pixel and compressing the file. The parameters analyzed included changes in hash values, hashing processing time, and algorithm sensitivity based on the avalanche effect. The results of the study indicate that all three algorithms were able to detect all changes in the image files. MD5 has the fastest processing time, SHA-1 provides a higher level of security than MD5, while SHA-256 produces the highest avalanche effect and offers the best security level despite requiring a longer processing time. Thus, SHA-256 is the most effective algorithm for maintaining the integrity of image files.

Abstract

The research discusses the derivation of the conformable fractional diffusion-chemotaxis equation and the solution of the equation in multidimensional space. The derivation of the diffusion-chemotaxis equation is obtained from a continuous-time random walk process influenced by external factors using conformable fractional derivatives, fractional Laplace transformation, and probability measures on the multidimensional unit sphere . Meanwhile, the solution to the equation is obtained using fractional Laplace transformation and multidimensional Fourier transformation. The mathematical model obtained describes the random movement of particles diffusing and influenced by chemotaxis attraction. Numerical simulations of the solution in one and two dimensions also indicate that the particle movement in conformable diffusion-chemotaxis is slower compared to regular diffusion-chemotaxis.

Abstract

Uncertainty in estimating the graduation probability of Seleksi Nasional Berdasarkan Prestasi (SNBP) often triggers ambiguity for prospective new students in determining their study program selection strategy. This is caused by the non-linear and highly variable nature of the graduation parameters. This study aims to implement the Mamdani method's Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) to predict the percentage of SNBP graduation opportunities quantitatively. The fuzzy model is designed using three crisp Input s: the average report card score over 5 semesters, the number of applicants in a specific study program, and the intake quota. The Output variable is the probability of passing, scaled from 0 to 100 percent. Data processing involves fuzzification using linear membership functions (triangular and trapezoidal), constructing a rule base comprising 64 conditional IF-THEN rules, an inference process using max-min composition, and a defuzzification stage utilizing the Centroid method (Center of Area). Model validation was tested using a case study with Input parameters: an average 5-semester score of 88 (Normal and High categories), 300 applicants (Moderate and High categories), and an intake quota of 25 seats (Low and Moderate categories). The test results produced a post-defuzzification crisp Output value of 54.9%. Based on these results, the system successfully and objectively predicted the acceptance probability of the test subject, classifying it into the "Moderate" category. This study proves that the Mamdani fuzzy logic method is adaptive and reliable as a transparent decision-support instrument for prospective college applicants.
