Abstract

Organic RFID tags have the features of two-dimensional bar codes, inexpensive, flexible and thin, while also integrated the merits of inorganic RFID tags, making them promising in facilitating the wide application of RFID technology. In this paper, organic RFID technology and its characteristics are analyzed, and the feasibility of its application in rice tracing is studied. Based on the analysis of characteristics of each links in rice supply chain, and with organic RFID technology as tracing means, a rice supply chain tracing system is designed using database and sensors. Focusing on characteristics of major links in tracing and the requirements of electronic tags, application scheme of the system is proposed for the tracking and tracing of links in rice supply chain. In the meantime, schemes are designed for the association of major information in the tracing system to ensure the accuracy and reliability of tracking and tracing. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.5115

Abstract

To solve the problem of tracking an acoustic source in noise and reverberation environment, a new method is proposed in pursuit of higher accuracy. First, this paper improves the unscented particle filter, which can add the latest measurement information to optimize the proposal distribution. Then, the likelihood function is constructed by calculating the microphone arrays’ output energy in the framework of the improved algorithm. Finally, the experiment results indicate that the proposed localization method can not only improves the accuracy of location estimation, but also can enhance the ability to resist noise and reverberation in the acoustic source localization system. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.4816

Abstract

The goal of optimal allocation is to increase the stored data availability subject to minimize the storage budget. The symmetric allocation based on the network coding is proved to be optimal without considering the nodes availability in distributed storage system. Because of network conditions and node inherent property, each node has different availability. This paper focuses on the optimization distributed data storage problem with nodes availability. Based on probability model of storage system, we re-define the symmetric allocation as the probability symmetric allocation, and proposed probability symmetric allocation model and strategy which are proved to be optimal in the general condition based on SVM. Comparing to the symmetric allocation proposed by Leong D. et al., The proposed probability symmetric allocation scheme improves the data availability, and is more practical method for distributed storage system. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.5100

Abstract

A kind of Nonlinear Robust Control (NRC) approach based on integrity for multivariable systems is presented. It uses model estimator which provides the approximate model information to compensate the non-modeled dynamics, system uncertainties, and external disturbances of a system. Firstly, the existence of NRC with integrity is examined. Then, stable regions of each NRC’s parameters are calculated, and some parameters are obtained by placing suitable closed-loop poles, for meeting the design specifications of the whole control system. The proposed method is applied to two illustrative examples from literature. Results demonstrate that NRC is feasible and robust for complicated multivariable systems. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.4926

Abstract

In emergency situations, finding suitable routes to reach destination is critical issue. The shortest path problem is one of the well-known and practical problems in computer science, networking and other areas. This paper presents an overview on shortest path analysis for an effective emergency response mechanism to minimize hazardous events. Both graph theory and network analysis in GIS was discussed for the purpose of modeling and analyzing traffic networks. A transportation network can be referred to as a valued graph consisting of a set of vertices and a set of edges. In order to compute length of the shortest path from the source to each of the remaining in the graph, we illustrated Dijkstra's algorithm and its program. Based on the integration of Geographic Information System (GIS), web services and Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (Ajax) technologies, we provided a web application for finding optimal routes from locations of specialized response team stations to incidents site so as to maximize their ability to respond to hazard incidents. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.3236

Abstract

In the three-dimensional scanners (3D scanners) based on structured-light technology, the commercial video projector was always borrowed to act as the electronic grating generator, which is a key hardware to the device. But there were some defects existed. For example, the size was too large for setting in the case of the device, and it could not be controlled by a single chip microprocessor conveniently, etc.. To solve these problems, a new grating generator was designed. The gratings were numbered and encoded in computer instructions, and then a complex programmable logic device (CPLD) chip was used to control a liquid crystal on silicon (LCOS) video chip, to write its data ports directly corresponding to the instructions. It has small size, simple interfaces, prompt response, clear instructions, and it worked well. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.4920

Abstract

The frame of an optimization model of coal alloction in a power generation group was introduced in present study. The influence of multi-coals blending and transportation were all considered in the model. Firstly, the impact of each process of coal using on the cost of power generation and boiler safety in the combustion process were analyzed, and the detailed mathematical descriptions were given. A multi-coals blending mathematical model based on safty, environmental protection and cost was proposed. The optimization model of coal transportation in the power generation group to achieve the most benefit was established. The algorithms of these models were studied and found that the genetic algorithm is one of the suitable methods to solve the models. An optimaiztion system for the coal allocation in the power generation group was developed based on the models and algorithms. The system adopts friendly software structure and can provide personalized functions for the power generation group and power plants. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.5107

Abstract

In order to improve the validity of electronic equipment condition monitoring, overcome the shortage of normal KPCA (Kernel Principal Component Analysis) and SVDD (Support Vector Data Description) monitoring model, a method on electronic equipment condition monitoring based on KPCA-EDA (KPCA- Estimation of Distribution Algorithm ) and MMSH-SVDD (Maximal Margin Separating Hypersphere SVDD Mode ) is put forward. Firstly, the feature of original monitoring data is extracted by KPCA-EDA algorithm, and a group of features with enough state identifying information are obtained; then the MMSH-SVDD model is trained by the normal state and a little bit of fault state features, and the unknown state feature is applied to the trained model; Finally, a filter circuit is taken as an example in simulations, the result shows that this method is the effective method improve the performance of electronic equipment condition monitoring. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.4332

Abstract

The traditional researches on evolution of tidal creek have been limited for the reason that precise measured data be required. On the other hand, the Remote Sensing Axis Line method (RSAL) can monitor the evolution of the tidal creek accuratly and promptly. This paper extracted the Axis lines of Xiaomiaohong creek based on one MSS image and six TM images in the period of 1979, 1987, 1989, 1993, 1995, 2003 and 2009 with RSAL and took a further analysis. The results showed that: On the basis of overlaying generated axis line and DEM (digital elevation model) data both acquired in 2003, axis line can be the substitution of the thalweg line because of similar trend and minor deviation of above two kinds of lines, which is revealed that RSAL was serviceable and effective to understand dynamic evolution of tidal creeks quickly and accurately. The upper section of Xiaomiaohong creek was depositing and growing all the time and subordinate braches were gradually disappeared, the south side of middle section possessed relatively stronger hydrodynamic force and much more subordinate branches were developing. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i5.4929
