Abstract

According to reports that had been published in many papers, wind turbines (WTs) fault due to lightning is one of the most difficult challenges. Lightning overvoltage lead to malfunction in the wind farm equipments. These improper functioning contain of malfunction electronic equipments and deformation of transformer winding and Surge arrester failures. The travelling waves which are generated due to high ground potential rise under lightning struck turbine cause these problems. To evaluate these cases, it must be performed an accurate analysis on the wave shape and level of the Lightning overvoltage and ground potential rise. This paper investigates the effective factors on the wave shape and level of the overvoltage, GPR and surge arrester burnout. These factors are included impulse Current-second characteristics, position of lightning, inception angle, multiple lightning strokes and chopped current.  ATP-EMTP simulation program is applied to analyze the lightning over-voltage of onshore wind farm. This paper provides a practical procedure of lightning protection. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v13i1.6844

Abstract

As the normal particle filter has an expensive computation and degeneracy problem, a propagation-prediction particle filter is proposed. In this scheme, particles after transfer are propagated under the distribution of state noise, and then the produced filial particles are used to predict the corresponding parent particle referring to measurement, in which step the newest measure information is added into estimation. Therefore predicted particle would be closer to the true state, which improves the precision of particle filter. Experiment results have proved the efficiency of the algorithm and the great predominance in little particles case. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v13i1.6712

Abstract

To realize the optimal control of underactuated autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) in vehicle plane with external disturbances, a optimal disturbance rejection controller is proposed with respect to the quadratic performance indexes. Firstly, the depth control model of underactuated AUV system and the wave model is proposed; Then based on the theory of the quadratic optimal control and stability degree constraint, a feedforward and feedback optimal disturbance rejection control law with a higher mean-square convergence rate is derived from the Riccati equation and the Sylvester equation, which can reject the disturbance influence to AUV. Finally, the controller is applied to the dive plane control of AUV with wave force disturbances, and the results demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of the controller. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v13i1.6889

Abstract

The growth of retailer lately very significant especially in food product, selling of food product is not only in conventional market but moreover now is in such mini market, mall, shopping complex, etc. Food traceability is required in supply of food product to make sure items are safe to consume and not in expired date. This paper present on food traceability in supply chain based on Electronic Product Code Information Services (EPCIS), the use of EPCIS standard is refer to Global Standard-1 (GS1) for logistic and supply chain based on Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Technology. RFID is used for items tagging on food product instead of barcode that currently widely used the advantages of RFID tag compare than barcode make the system is more applicable to used in food traceability. In this case one of food product take into example in supplying which is banana that the process started from farmer until reach to retail house are monitored and recorded by the system. End process of this system is to give services to the consumer of customer based on EPCIS database collected in all the way of process. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v13i1.6919

Abstract

In this paper, we propose a PID parameter tuning of particle swarm optimization for multi-objective optimization characteristics of two regional power system PID controller design.  By defining a comprehensive consideration of system output overshoot, rise time and the fitness function term steady-state error indicators, such as the ITAE, and in accordance with the performance requirements of the actual control system, appropriate weighting of each index item. Use with base and improved particle swarm algorithm for multi-objective optimization PID. PSO optimization algorithm has good global search ability and high convergence rate. You can respond to the PID controller tuning parameters directly from the output of the PID control system easily balance between speed and stability control systems. After using PSO-PID control in two regional power system ,the amount of overshoot in the step total response downs from 65% to 5%. Adjust time  downs from 12 seconds to 3 seconds.  DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v13i1.6835

Abstract

A novel compact microstrip lowpass filter (LPF) is proposed in this paper, which consists of the complementary rectangle split ring defected microstrip structure (CRSR-DMS), open stubs, spurline and the dumbbell-shaped defected ground structure (DGS). Due to the unique response of the presented CRSR-DMS, a low passband insertion loss and a sharp transition of the proposed LPF was achieved. Meanwhile, an improved stopband was obtained by properly adjusting the working frequencies of open stubs, a third-order LPF using spurline and dumbbell-shaped DGS. The measured result of the designed LPF shows that attenuation rate reaches 159 dB/GHz and a wide stopband is obtained from 4.07 GHz to more than 15 GHz. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v13i1.6760

Abstract

Nowadays, many moving devices receive their energy from a battery. DC motor is the most suitable option for these systems. In addition, the speed of these motors can be controlled easily and in the extensive range. Intelligent control methods are widely used in control of the industrial processes due to simplicity and high capabilities. In this paper, the fuzzy resistance speed controller has been designed and presented for DC motor. This controller stabilizes speed of motor in the desirable path despite changes of load torque or change of motor elements. One of the other features of this controller is the multivariate objective function which is able to supply dynamical behavior of the motor. Rapid response, permanent fault and low overshoot are about the other advantages of this method. DOI:  http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v13i1.7004

Abstract

The current Internet infrastructure IPv4 uses Address Resolution Protocol to resolve the neighbors MAC address if not known. IPv6 is the next generation communication protocol used today to overcome the exhaustion of IPv4 addresses. IPv6 uses Neighbor Discovery Protocol (NDP) to do the address resolution and not ARP. NDP lacks security and hence the address resolution mechanism is vulnerable to various attacks that include man-in-the-middle and Denial of Service. Secure Neighbor Discovery (SeND) mechanism that was introduced to solve this problem is highly complex and the message size is large. This paper introduces Trust-ND mechanism to secure the address resolution in IPv6 local network. Experiments were done and analysis on the experimental result shows the Trust-ND could decrease the complexity of SeND. The processing time of NDP message could be reduced from 1076 times for SeND mechanism to only 1.9 times for Trust-ND. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v13i1.6929
