The growth of world economic and increasing of trading in most of countries has impact to the number of containers export and import between countries. Some of container terminal is very busy to handle high volume of container movement. Conventional operational procedures have difficulties to handle containers movement then make slow and some issues in terminal operation for container clearance. This paper discus on proposing new algorithm to the current container terminal management system used RFID technology for fast processing and clearance. Container Terminal Management System (CTMS) is a system for port management and interface to the RFID system that used to identify container e-seal, truck and driver identity. Lack of communication and interfacing protocol made slow response during request or reply of message to the gate operator. Proposed algorithm with new procedure of request to CTMS made faster response and avoid inaccuracy of detecting container e-seal. Results of implementation new algorithm have improved to the productivity and efficiency of container terminal. Testing and implementation of this proposed system conducted in a private container terminal in Malaysia.

In a campus community, mostly is younger people andstay in University hostel without cooking facilities then have to getfrom canteen for foods and beverages. In office hour with limitedbreak time either breakfast or lunch everyone is rushing to get foodand crowded situation are happen. One of the issues is paymentsystem use manually (cash) and queue at the cashier to pay foods, sometime need to wait a few minute until to get the turn. Cashlesspayment such as token or credit system is implementing in some ofrestaurant and food courts but does not applicable in Universitycanteen that most of customers are students with small transaction, only a few dollars and cents. Nowadays, mobile phone or smartphone is not a luxury thing and most of student carries it for phonecall, message, email, or browsing internet. Most of smart phone alsoembedded with Near Field Communication (NFC) reader inside thephone, thus by using this phone with NFC enable to do paymentsystem at the canteen. The credit is deducted from mobile phonebalance for pre-paid system or billed in monthly for postpaid andthis system have working together to the cellular phone operator.Confirmation on payment system is shows whether customerapprove payment or not then a notification is sent to user. With thissystem be able to overcome several issues such as queue at cashierfor payment and risk of student to carry cash money while buyingfoods.

very year, demanding of spare parts for vehicle isincreasing together to the number of cars, thus spare parts toreplacing faulty component also high demand. Every workshopneed to keep spare parts for replacing breakdown vehicle or someworkshop request spare parts to store it. Base on that, a good spareparts management and storage system is required for effective andfaster service to thecustomer. This paper discuss on the use ofRadio Freqeuncy Identification (RFID) for car engine storage andspare parts management system using RFID technology, because ofits advantages compare to others technology which is no line ofsight required and multiple reading. Every spare parts or enginetagging by an RFID tag which is programmed early with uniqueidentity, then store to a central database for stock and inventorysystem. Testing havebeen conducted an shows reduce on reading performance becauseof most spare parts and engine made from metal material thuseffected to RFID reading performance. A new technique used forRFID tag before tagging which is make some gap from the engineor spare parts to avoid RFID signal absorve by metal material. Theother way is used high gain antenna andRFID reader for faster and powerfull reading. Results showsimprovement on reading distance and performance compare to theprevious tagging technique and tagging placement.

Hybrid technique for Self Organizing Map and Particle Swarm Optimization approach is commonly implemented in clustering area. In this paper, a hybrid approach that is based on Enhanced Self Organizing Map and Particle Swarm Optimization (ESOM/PSO) for classification is proposed. Enhanced Self Organization map which based on Kohonen network structure is to improve the quality of the data classification and labeling. New formulation of hexagonal lattice area is used for the enhancement Self Organizing Map structure. The proposed hybrid ESOM/PSO algorithm uses PSO to evolve the weights for ESOM. The weights are trained by ESOM in the first stage. In the second stage, they are optimized by PSO. In the proposed algorithm, the result is measured by using a classification accuracy and quantization error techniques.

The evolution wireless technologies are growing rapidly in upcoming years. It is expected that many users will shift to more advanced devices that will contribute to gain higher demand in wireless spectrum. However, the capacity for the allocation frequency in the wireless spectrum is typically limited in wireless data transmission. Therefore, when the loads of wireless users in the wireless communications are increasing, the need of cache mechanisms such as Web caches or Web servers are crucial. The scalability demands on internet infrastructure keep increasing as the internet continues to grow in popularity and size. Therefore, the existence and development in Web caching technologies will contribute to bandwidth savings, network latency reduction, improve content availability and subsequently server load balancing. This paper will studies and investigates the cache performance in wireless spectrum with the purpose of dealing with the data growth since the spectrum crisis becomes a serious matter lately. The performance improvement will be observed using caching scheme which allows for time shifting and load shifting in accessing the wireless data with the better cache deployment in the network system. Training Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) is of great significanceand a difficult task in the field of supervised learning as its performance depends on underlying training algorithm as well as the achievement of the training process. In this paper, three training algorithms namely Back-Propagation Algorithm, Harmony Search Algorithm (HSA) and hybrid BP and HSA called BPHSA are employed for the supervised training of Multi-Layer Perceptron feed forward type of Neural Networks (NNs) by giving special attention to hybrid BPHSA. A suitable structure for data representation of NNs is implemented to BPHSA-MLP, HSA-MLP and BP-MLP. The proposed method is empirically tested and verified using five benchmark classification problemswhich are Iris, Glass, Cancer, Wine and Thyroid dataset on training NNs. The MSE, training time, and classification accuracy of hybrid BPHSA are compared with the standard BP and meta-heuristic HSA. The experiments showed that proposed method has better results in terms of convergence error and classification accuracy compared to BP-MLP and HSA-MLPmaking the BPHSA-MLPa promising algorithm for neural network training. Radial Basis Function Network (RBFN) is a class of Artificial Neural Network (ANN) that was used in many classification problems in science and engineering. Backpropagation (BP) algorithm is a learning algorithm that was widely used in ANN. However, BP has major disadvantages of slow error rate convergence and always easily stuck at the local minima. Hence, Modified BP algorithm was proposed in this study to improve the learning speed of RBFN using discretized data. C programming language was used to develop the program for the proposed method. Performance measurement of the method was conducted and the experimental results indicate that our proposed method performs better in error rate convergence and correct classification compared to the result with continuous dataset. T-test statistical analysis was used to check the significance of the results and most were found to be satisfactorily significant. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v13i2.7032
