Abstract

In this paper are introduced the new airship techniques and technologies as cost effective solutions of Stratospheric Communication Platforms (SCP) as future backbone of terrestrial networks for rural communications. The launch or putting in position the airship is not critical point such as launch of satellite and controlling support services in the creation of space-based communication technology and the most expensive phase of the total system cost. Therefore, with few cost effective remote controlled and solar powered airships can be covered some region or country including remote and rural areas with low density of population. The airship SCP network offers better solutions than cellular radio systems, with greater speed of transmission than even optical modes, roaming will be enhanced without severe shadowing or obstacle problems and disturbances inside of buildings and service will cost less. The SPS mission system is more autonomous and discrete, can be integrated with current satellite and cellular systems, and will be the best solution for rural, mobile transportation and military applications. The SCP airship can be seen well from all positions inside coverage area, because they are overlapping the total coverage and because of elevation angle. In any circumstances mountains, buildings and even trees cannot cause obstructions like to cellular network. For these reasons, there is currently a revival of interest for SCP constellations and application types of various system concepts are being studied.

Abstract

eXtensible Markup Language (XML) has been widely used as the standard for data exchange standard over the Internet. With the fast growing rate of data, especially with high updates, it is crucial to ensure that the XML is able to cope with frequent changes with very least effect on the existing structure. Therefore, in this paper, we investigate on the existing labeling schemes and mapping approaches to gauge a better understanding in terms of the robustness of the labeling schemes and the importance of the mapping schemes. Next, we propose ORD-GAP labeling schemes to identify the structural relationship among XML nodes and yet, it is persistent to re-labeling when new nodes are inserted. Subsequently, a mapping scheme is proposed to transform XML into Relational Database (RDB). Preliminary experimental evaluation demonstrated that the proposed approach achieve 66% better as compared to ORDPATH, and 56% better as compared to ME labeling in terms of data loading time.

Abstract

The impact of the optimization using Taguchi statistical method towards the electrical properties of a 16 nm double-gate FinFET (DG-FinFET) is investigated and analyzed. The inclusion of drive current (ION), leakage current (IOFF), and threshold voltage (VTH) as part of electrical properties presented in this paper will be determined by the amendment of six process parameters that comprises the polysilicon doping dose, polysilicon doping tilt, Source/Drain doping dose, Source/Drain doping tilt, VTH doping dose, VTH doping tilt, alongside the consideration of noise factor in gate oxidation temperature and polysilicon oxidation temperature. Silvaco TCAD software is utilized in this experiment with the employment of both ATHENA and ATLAS module to perform the respective device simulation and the electrical characterization of the device. The output responses obtained from the design is then succeeded by the implementation of Taguchi statistical method to facilitate the process parameter optimization as well as its design. The effectiveness of the process parameter is opted through the factor effect percentage on Signal-to-noise ratio with considerations towards ION and IOFF. The most dominant factor procured is the polysilicon doping tilt. The ION and IOFF obtained after the optimization are 1726.88 μA/μm and 503.41 pA/μm for which has met the predictions of International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors (ITRS) 2013.

Abstract

This paper presents simulation and modeling of two-level DC/DC boost converter using system identification technique. The main objective is to identify the unknown mathematical model from designated converter that has 2 modes of operation. Signals from the converter were processed based on the impulse response from input and output voltages, which were in time domain data. Auto Regressive with eXogenous (ARX), Auto Regressive Moving Average with eXogenous (ARMAX), and Output-Error (OE) model structure techniques had been employed to generate a model from the converter, whose validation was based on coefficient of determination (R2) or best fits criterion. The result shows that the ARX model structure produced the best model with 94.03%, compared to ARMAX and OE with 93.70% and 92.25% respectively. In terms of stability for open-loop analysis, the ARX model structure gave the most stable system.

Abstract

Code words traditional can be decoding when applied in artificial neural network. Nevertheless, explored rarely for encoding of artificial neural network so that it proposed encoder for artificial neural network forward with major structure built by Self Organizing Feature Map (SOFM). According to number of bits codeword and bits source mentioned the dimension of forward neural network at first then sets weight of distribution proposal choosing after that algorithm appropriate using for sets weight initializing and finally sets code word uniqueness check so that matching with existing. The spiking neural network (SNN) using as decoder of neural network for processing of decoding where depending on numbers of bits codeword and bits source dimension the spiking neural network structure built at first then generated sets codeword by network neural forward using for train spiking neural network after that when whole error reached minimum the process training stop and at last sets code word decode accepted. In tests simulation appear that feasible decoding and encoding neural network while performance better for structure network neural forward a proper condition is achieved with γ node output degree. The methods of mathematical traditional can not using for decoding generated Sets codeword by encoder network of neural so it is prospect good for communication security.

Abstract

Using Ultra-High Definition (UHD) video streaming in real-time transmission over the internet is the main challenge of this paper. Due to the widely variation of the available Internet bandwidth makes the difficulties of video streaming with flexibility and efficiency. In this paper the UHD video is down sampled and encoded at different levels of 4K, FHD, 720p, 4CIF, CIF and QCIF. Experiments were done to find the optimal configuration of H265 features at each level that give the required PSNR, 36 dB, at assigned bitrate. A controller is incorporated with H265 encoder to achieve the adaptation of video streaming on the available bandwidth by choosing the proper level that is compatible with the channel bitrate results of keeping a good quality to the end user. The adaptation of video was realized by making the controller periodically reads the status of the buffer, such function helps the controller to select the proper level, 4K, FHD, 720p, 4CIF, CIF or QCIF to be streamed over the channel. At the decoder the reconstructed video for lower level is done by interpolation scaling up.

Abstract

Parkinson’s disease (PD) among Alzheimer’s and epilepsy are one of the most common neurological disorders which appreciably affect not only live of patients but also their households. According to the current trend of aging social behaviour, it is expected to see a rise of Parkinson’s disease. Even though there is no cure for PD, a proper medication at the early stage can help significantly in alleviating the symptoms. Since, the traditional method for identifying PD is rather invasive, expansive and complicated for self-use, there is a high demand for using classification method on PD detection. This paper compares the performance of Neural Network and decision tree for classifying and discriminating healthy people for people with Parkinson’s disease (PD) by distinguishing dysphonia. The simulation results demonstrate that Neural Network outperformed decision tree by giving accurate results with 87% accuracy as compared to decision tree with only 84% accuracy in determining the classification of healthy and people with Parkinson’s.

Abstract

3D Bio-printer is said to have potential in the applications of medical studies and tissue engineering. A 3D Bio-printer could be used to print the artificial organs for organs transplant and cell tissue culture for generating new cell tissue. It could help in future medical and biological research. This paper presents the development process, i.e. working principle of Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM), mechanical, electrical and related applied software, of a 3D Bio-printer using syringe-based extruder and Core XY mechanism. Up to date, FDM is a popular technique because it is easily implemented, precise and accurate. The printed product revealed high repeativity, where (sample mean, sample standard deviation) is (  mm. The procedure could help future customized 3D Bio-printer.

Abstract

In airline operations planning, a sequential method is traditionally used in airline system. In airline systems, minimizing the costs is important as they want to get the highest profits. The aircraft routing problem is solved first, and then pursued by crew pairing problem. The solutions are suboptimal in some cases, so we incorporate aircraft routing and crew pairing problems into one mathematical model to get an exact solution. Before we solve the integrated aircraft routing and crew pairing problem, we need to get the aircraft routes (AR) and crew pairs (CP). In this study, we suggested using genetic algorithm (GA) to develop a set of AR and CP. By using the generated AR and CP, we tackle the integrated aircraft and crew pairing problems using two suggested techniques, Integer Linear Programming (ILP) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). Computational results show that GA's executed of AR and CP and then solved by ILP obtained the greatest results among all the methods suggested.

Abstract

eXtensible Mark-up Language (XML) has been widely used as the de facto standard for data exchange over the Web. It is crucial to ensure that the data can be mapped correctly into the underlying data storage format, that is, without any lost of information. The two mapping strategies are structural-based and model-based. The structural-based mapping involves the presence of Data Type Definition (DTD) for schema mapping while the model-based mapping does not require the present of DTD or any schema for the mapping purpose. The structural-based mapping is good especially for data-centric type of data, i.e., data which is structured and can be binded into certain schema. As such, this paper evaluates and compares the performances of two selected existing structural-based mapping via simulation. Two main evaluations are: (i) storing the XML data into relational database (RDB), and (ii) querying the XML data from the RDB. The time taken for each respective process will be recorded and compared. From the experimental results, it is observed that the s-XML approach outperformed the SAX approach in terms of storing and query evaluations for most of the test cases conducted.
