Abstract

This research presents an extremely small, cheap and simple structure of multiple bands antenna, where is the proposed design comprise square-slotted a microstrip patch antenna with triple bands of RF and mm-wave for 5G. The conducting material is a perfect electrical conductor on both sides. The antenna is printed on FR-4 lossy with a 3.9 of epsilon. Our tiny antenna has a size of 1.5357 x 1.5357 mm2. First, the design parameters were calculated using formulas and then these were simulated by the CST MWS. The simulation results show the antenna performance at the RF band from 0 to 3.4096 GHz with 3.29 gain, a value of return loss S11 and bandwidth of -13.229644 and 3.4096 GHz. The designed antenna works at the mm-wave band ranges 43.5-64 GHz with 3.49 gain, -42.419084 S11 and 20.252 GHz BW. Our antenna can also operate at the mm-wave from 81-95 GHz with -22.269547 S11, 4.52 gain, and 14.085 GHz BW. The small size and supported bandwidth of the designed antenna is suitable for thin and fast transmission devices.

Abstract

Selective Harmonic elimination has emerged as an in-depth research method to replace traditional PWM technology. This study demonstrates the selective harmonic elimination by using a hybrid Genetic algorithm GA and local search (GA-LS) method of a uniform asymmetric multilevel inverter called USAMI That removes the higher-order harmonics defined while maintaining the fundamental voltage needed. This new technology can be implemented at any USAMI level. For example, in this article, we plan to use USAMI at 9 levels and find the optimal switching angle to remove the 5th, 7th, and 11th harmonics.

Abstract

The wide use of vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) in the last decade hasled many researchers to find  efficient and reliable methods to obtain the desired benefits and offer services, such as healthcare and traffic management. However, VANETs suffer from security issues represented by authentication and data integrity. In thispaper, we propose a robust  mutual authentication scheme based on elliptic curve cryptography (ECC), cryptography hash function, and a pseudonym. The  proposed work was twofold in focus: first, on healthcare in emergency cars which use VANETs, and second, on overcoming security issues, such as resisting familiar attacks (e.g. insider attacks and reply attacks). Because of the serious situation generated by the worldwide outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic, we also found this research valuable in supporting global efforts to combat the rapid spread of this virus, by finding the safest and fastest routes to epidemic treatment centres for medical staff, assistance teams in medical  operations, fumigation control, and all work teams associated with disease control. This research attempts to contribute by proposing a special signal  used to define epidemic teams. The best route, fast route can be chosen by using VANETs infrastructure. This scheme also deals with metric security features, such as key management, data integrity, and data privacy. In the communication and computation  cost, we  noticed  that our proposed scheme  achieved  good results compared with the related works.

Abstract

The modeling of lithium-ion battery is an important element to the management of batteries in industrial applications. Various models have been studied and investigated, ranging from simple to complex. The second-order equivalent circuit model was studied and investigated since the dynamic behavior of the battery is fully characterized. The simulation model was built in Matlab Simulink using the Kirchhoff Laws principle in mathematical equations, while the battery's internal parameters were identified by using the BTS4000 (Battery tester) device. To estimate the full state of charge (SOC), the initial state of charge (SOC0) must be identified or measured. Hence, this paper seeks for the SOC estimation by using experimental terminal voltage data and SOC with Matlab lookup table. Then, the simulated terminal voltage, as well as the SOC of the battery are compared and validated against measured data. The maximum relative error of 0.015 V and 2% for terminal voltage and SOC respectively shows that the proposed model is accurate and relevant based on the error analysis.

Abstract

Thyroid nodule are fluid or solid lump that are formed within human’s gland and most thyroid nodule doesn’t show any symptom or any sign; moreover there are certain percentage of thyroid gland are cancerous and which could lead human into critical situation up to death. Hence, it is one of the important type of cancer and also it is important for detection of cancer. Ultrasound imaging is widely popular and frequently used tool for diagnosing thyroid cancer, however considering the wide application in clinical area such estimating size, shape and position of thyroid cancer. Further, it is important to design automatic and absolute segmentation for better detection and efficient diagnosis based on US-image. Segmentation of thyroid gland from the ultrasound image is quiet challenging task due to inhomogeneous structure and similar existence of intestine. Thyroid nodule can appear anywhere and have any kind of contrast, shape and size, hence segmentation process needs to designed carefully; several researcher have worked in designing the segmentation mechanism, however most of them were either semi-automatic or lack with performance metric, however it was suggested that U-Net possesses great accuracy. Hence, in this paper, we proposed improvised U-Net which focuses on shortcoming of U-Net, the main aim of this research work is to find the probable Region of interest and segment further. Furthermore, we develop High level and low-level feature map to avoid the low-resolution problem and information; later we develop dropout layer for further optimization. Moreover proposed model is evaluated considering the important metrics such as accuracy, Dice Coefficient, AUC, F1-measure and true positive; our proposed model performs better than the existing model.

Abstract

More recent digital camera introduced enormous facilities for users from different specifications to take images easily, but the user still wants to improve these images, which it contains different problems like ambiguous and colors is not clear, because not enough light, cloudy weather, bright light, dark region and it's taken from remote distances. This paper aims to use a new approach for fusion images by using a wavelet coefficient based on PSNR and SNR measure (the technical result) instead of using the max, min, average values, and so on in the previous methods. The wavelet coefficient of each sub band is compared between them, the sub band had a value higher of measure is selected for fusion. Firstly, a discrete wavelet transform has been applied to the medical images with 2level. Then, the peak signal to noise ratio and signal to noise ratio measures have been computed for each sub-band. After that PSNR and SNR values have been compared for each sub-band to opposite sub-band and it selected the better value of measures. Secondly, PSNR and SNR values have been gathered for each image. Then select the image that contains value higher PSNR and lower value of SNR for purpose fusion. Finally, perform an inverse discrete wavelet on the fused image to transform it from the frequency to the spatial domain. The results of the work showed that the wavelet coefficient is used to preserve the image details and removed the noise. PSNR value of 1level of dwt is higher than 2level. This paper makes the image more clearer and informative than the original images.

Abstract

As a result of technological advances in robotic systems, electronic sensors, and communication techniques, the production of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) systems has become possible. Their easy installation and flexibility led these UAV systems to be used widely in both military and civilian applications. Note that the capability of one UAV is however limited. Nowadays, a multi-UAV system is of special interest due to the ability of its associate UAV members either to coordinate simultaneous coverage of large areas or to cooperate to achieve common goals/targets. This kind of cooperation/coordination requires a reliable communication network with a proper network model to ensure the exchange of both control and data packets among UAVs. Such network models should provide all-time connectivity to avoid dangerous failures or unintended consequences. Thus, the multi-UAV system relies on communication to operate. Flying ad hoc network (FANET) is moreover considered as a sophisticated type of wireless ad hoc network among UAVs which solved the communication problems into other network models. Along with the FANET’s unique features, challenges and open issues are also discussed especially in the routing protocols approach. We will try to present the expected transmission account metric with a new algorithm for reliability. In addition to this new algorithm mechanism, the metric takes into account the relative speed between UAVs, and thus the increase of the fluctuations in links between UAVs has been detected. Accordingly, the results show that the function of the AODV routing protocol with this metric becomes effective in high mobility environments.

Abstract

Thai textual memes have been popular in social media, as a form of image information summarization. Unfortunately, many memes contain some hateful content that easily causes the controversy in Thailand. For global protection, the Hateful Memes Challenge is also provided by Facebook AI to enable researchers to compete their algorithms for combating the hate speech on memes as one of NeurIPS’20 competitions. As well as in Thailand, this paper introduces the Thai textual meme detection as a new research problem in Thai natural language processing (Thai-NLP) that is the settlement of transmission linkage between scene text localization, Thai optical recognition (Thai-OCR) and language understanding. From the results, both regular and irregular text position can be localized by one-stage detection pipeline. More scene text can be augmented by different resolution and rotation. The accuracy of Thai-OCR using convolutional neural network (CNN) can be improved by recurrent neural network (RNN). Since misspelling Thai words are frequently used in social, this paper categorizes them as synonyms to train on multi-task pre-trained language model.

Abstract

Human emotion recognition is an upcoming research field of human computer interaction based on facial gestures and is being used for real-time analysis in classifying cognitive affective states from a facial video data. Since computers have become an integral part of life, many researchers are using emotion recognition and classification of data based on audio and text. But these approaches offer limited accuracy and relevance in emotion classification. Therefore we have introduced and analyzed a hybrid approach which could outperform the existing strategies that uses an innovative approach supported by selection of audio and video data characteristics for classification. The research uses SVM for classifying the data using audio-visual savee database and the results obtained show maximum classification accuracy with respect to audio data about 91.6 could be improved to 99.2% after the application of hybrid strategy.

Abstract

Recently, heat-related diseases like COVID19, Chickenpox, Typhoid, and others are increasing significantly; therefore, the need for portable devices to measures the heat of the human body accurately, quickly, easily with low cost has become very necessary to preserve the life of patients. For this reason, a smart system has been developed to monitor the patient's heat, in addition to temperature and humidity of the critical environment such as surgical operating rooms, patients’ isolation rooms and pharmacies, because it can help propagate infectious agents like viruses and bacteria. The proposed system divided into four parts: transmitted part (arduino, heat sensor, and hygrometer sensor), alarm part consists of lights and alarm bell, emergency part (doctors and nurses), and the medical application has been used as the last part. The application can be used only by authorized persons and through the accounts which are granted to them, in order to protect the data from sabotage and maintain the privacy and confidentiality of it.
