Abstract

The rapid development of maritime technology in the world to make Indonesia are also increasingly taking the development of maritime technology, such as in a Submersible Vehicle one is degaussing system, this technology should be owned by the vessel so that the vessel can avoid dangerous explosive equipment contained in the sea. Degaussing system is a system that is in use on the metal parts or electronic devices that are at risk of a magnetic field. This system is used to prevent the vessel from dangerous equipment in the sea which can trigger an explosion and the damage that utilize magnetic fields as a metal-detection sensor when the boat was doing dives. To the authors will plan the design degaussing system, and calculating the system in order to reduce the magnetic properties of the Submersible Vehicle which were obtained by the use of Coil Degaussing along 214,5 meters, a diameter of 0,2, with 500.000 coil that will generate a current of 0,0157 Ampere's 0.0787 Tesla generates a magnetic field.

Abstract

The main function of cooling system is to control the temperature in the engine. To know the flow in the jacket cooling system for marine diesel engine 93 KW and the couple simulation between 1D modeling and 3D modeling, the methodology used. The analysis process was performed by using 3 diffrent softwares. The methodology to analysis fluid flow is CFD (computational fluid dynamic) with steps were problem identification, literature study, design the jacket cooling system based on the cummin diesel engine 93 KW, 1D modeling of cooling system, 3D modeling fluid flow in jacket cooling system, and conclusion. The input of 3D jacket cooling simulation are mass flow, fluid temperature, wall temperature, and heat transfer. The result from this bachelor thesis is fluid flow in jacket cooling system and another parameter output such as temperature flow and velocity if fluid in the jacket cooling system. The result of the flow in jacket cooling is much turbulance in various are of jacket cooling its mean the jacket cooling have a good enfficiency of heat transfer, and the fluid temperature show the increasing temperature from inlet to outlet because of heat transfer happen in the jacket cooling between wall of jacket cooling and fluid. The engine speed will affect the cooling system, if the engine speed is increasing, the speed of flow will increase because the cylinder block need more coolant and the temperature of cylinder block will increase

Abstract

Electric propulsion is the ship system using propulsion motor to replace performance of main engine. The application of diesel engine as propulsion system have some problems and weaknesses such as diesel engine unability to operate when submersible vessel is operating under sea. To overcome that problems in submersible vessel, alternative solution of ship propulsion is required. DC Motor can be used as this alternative solution. Submersible vessel use electric propulsion system with DC Motor because DC Motor has advantages of easy rotation setting and does not cause noise when submersible vessel is diving. This bachelor thesis will study the application of DC Motor as an electric propulsion system on submersible vessel with length 59,57 m in series and parallel circuit by simulation using MATLAB software. The simulation data obtained are rotation and torque of DC Motor. From these simulation, it can be concluded that parallel circuit rotation is greater than series circuit rotation. It caused the greater speed and lower power in parallel circuit.

Abstract

The study analyzes about the cause of the leak in KM Nusantara Akbar’s engine room. However, this research is focus on  leakage caused by shaft deflectio From the field data provided by the KNKT, know the cause of the leak is packing driven by a shaft deflection and therefore can not hold the rate of water. Analysis was done by a review of the technical and non-technical factors, because the scene of the ship accident was not purely due to technical factors but also non-technical factors. The first step is analyzing the ship document, such as the certificate of ship from classification, incident reports, docking report, ship crew certificates and other ship document. Then on the next step, the evidence that has been obtained from the analysis of the documents related to the  ship sail is use to make the analysis using 5 whys method to looking for the root cause. According to the analysis that has been done, the technical cause of the leak vessel caused by system shafting system is reconditioned flange bolts that have been damaged and the addition of flax on the bearing shaft has to cope without straightening axle deflection itself. While the Autodesk Inventor 3D modeling software obtained bolt broken because the act force is 10782.31 N with the shear stress 2.230 MPa, while the maximum force in the normal load is 9.434,531.N with shear force 1,951 Mpa. Then from the cause from non-technical factors are equipment / spare part to overcome the failure of shafting system is very less, the workplace is dirty and uncomfortable and happened miss communication between the crew in the engine room to overcome the leakage.
