Abstract

The process of electric welding is a welding process using webbed electrodes as an added source of heat from current power. From the ergonomic aspect that needs to be improved is the light intensity and airflow in the workplace. The purpose of this study was to determine the decrease in workload, musculoskeletal complaints and increase work productivity in students. This research was conducted with a total sample of 5 people, the experimental research method used the same subject design (treatment by subjects design). This research activity aims to increase the knowledge and skills of welders in welding activities based on welding safety and health standards (WSH).

Abstract

In the era of development, industrial competition will be increasingly fierce, competition of the cosmetic market will provide opportunities and threats for local companies, carving art is one of Indonesia's traditional arts that holds various values. This research was conducted at Radha wood carving located at Gmp3 Mustamindo. The method used is a SWOT analysis, SWOT analysis is one method for describing conditions and evaluating a project problem or business concept based on internal factors (inside) and external factors (outside) Namely strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, Analysis used to compile the factors of the company's strategy, as a result of handicrafts, radha wood carving art is very influential on the supporting community both in interacting and communicating, because this craft takes the form of a variety of letters, names and so forth. wood crafts are also often viewed as home decorations and key chains that are unique and attract attention for teenagers and children. product excellence and good service to customers, so the opportunity creates customer loyalty to the product. Radha wood carvings also always try to make new design innovations so that customers remain interested and provide comfort to their customers. The obstacles facing the Radha wood carving are capital problems, scarcity of raw materials and competition from within the country.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is a company engaged in oil palm plantations and processing into semi-finished products in the form of Crude Palm Oil (CPO), palm oil processing process that accompanied the development of palm oil production in between can have a negative impact on employee safety. It can be seen from some of the data such accidents such as minor injuries, injuries of moderate to with severe injuries. It is therefore necessary identifying the causes of accidents and analyze the problems to improve and maintain the safety, employee safety and minimize the extent of occupational accidents that may occur during the production by using Job Safety Analysis (JSA). The conclusion that can be drawn based on the calculation of Statistics Accidents at accident data with a look at the numbers work accident frequency (F) and the number of work accidents severity (S) note that Sterilizer station that has the highest accident rate by 7 occupational accidents for four years with a severity of 343 days, while the JSA indicate that the station needed some proposed improvements Sterilizer form of repair machinery or equipment, personal protective equipment and alternative replacement of machinery or equipment that is more secure.

Abstract

Harvesting, loading and sorting activities in palm oil industry that conducted manually have some risks that can cause musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). This is happened due to repetitive of manual working, standing and bending position for 8 hours and 6 working days, this activity does not match the anthropometry of worker body. The analysis of the Nordic Body MAP questionnaire shows that the biggest complaints experienced by harvest workers are on the back (90%), right shoulder (60%), waist (15%), right calf (40%) the same as the forearm and left calf (30%). ).Work posture analysis using the OWAS method also supports the results of the NBM questionnaire analysis with the results of the analysis of the dominant bent shoulder attitude carried out by 68% (category 2), the attitude of the two arms is 53% (category 2) and the stance of the legs resting on both bent knees. 47% (category 3) with a combination of harvest posture code 4-2-2-2 (category 3).

Abstract

Abstract The Tenayan Steam Power Plant (PLTU) is a fossil fuel power plant that is coal with a low rank coal type. To be able to meet the needs of electricity on the island of Sumatra, especially the Riau and Riau Islands, the Tenayan power plant must maintain coal needs within a safe range of 15-25 days of operation. Coal needs may not experience a decrease in productivity due to equipment damage. The obstacle that arises is the frequent occurrence of unexpected downtime which results in disrupted coal production so that the supply of coal is insufficient for the unit to operate so that the unit must be derating. This is caused by damage to one of the coal dismantling equipment, the ship unloader. This study aims to provide equipment maintenance and optimal inspection time intervals on ship unloader equipment. The research method used is Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) with quantitative analysis. After analysis, it was found that the critical component of the Tenayan PLTU ship unloader was the chain bucket. This is obtained based on the component with the most damage frequency, which is 16 damage over a 3-year period. From the results of data processing, the MTTR value is 62.72 hours and MTTF is 211.02 hours, while the optimal inspection time interval is 6 days, so it is recommended to do reactive, inspection, and preventive maintenance activities on the chain bucket periodically every 6 days in order to increase the reliability of the chain bucket.

Abstract

Abstract Garbage is something that disturbs and affects the community environment. Organic waste comes from living things, both humans, animals, and plants, so that it can be used for animal feed which is processed by chopping. As for the results of field observations at the Bangkinang Kota market, it can be seen that organic waste types of cabbage and mustard are commonly found in the Bangkinang Kota market, organic waste such as carrots, tomatoes, chilies, potatoes and kale are found in many trash cans but the amount is less, this type of waste dry. For the Bangkinang City area, waste transportation is carried out 2 (two) times a day, namely in the morning and evening. The most waste generated is on Wednesdays and Sundays, because those days are market days in Bangkinang Kota. The waste generated reaches 1-2 tons per day. The organic waste chopper generally consists of a frame, top casing, bottom casing, inlet, outlet, axle, bearing, and blade. The manufacture of this tool at the Laboratory of Industrial Engineering, Universitas Pahlawan Tuanku Tambusai. The design and manufacture of organic cattle feed chopper has a size of 38 cm, width 51 cm and height 120 cm, using a 7 hp/5600 rpm diesel engine with a weight of 72 kg. Based on the test results, it can be concluded that organic mixed vegetable waste weighing 2 kg only takes 22 seconds faster, while cabbage weighing 2 kg takes 37 seconds and mustard greens weighing 2 kg takes 29 seconds. The amount of organic waste that is chopped as much as 6 kg only takes 88 seconds. Keywords: Design, chopper, organic waste.
