Abstract

Bali is getting famous, It is related to the plan of former President of the United States Barack Obama to visit Bali for vacation with his family. He scheduled to spend his vacation in Bali with his family for five days from June 23rd to 28th. Before the group are heading to Yogyakarta. Related to the security, Hundreds of police and TNI officers stand guard along the road as far as 40 km to secure the departure of Barack Obama's entourage to Yogyakarta. there was no airport closure when Obama's plane took off. However, he said there was indeed a priority given for the plane to take off, both on arrival and departure of the entourage.

Abstract

As a form of spirit to revive the economic stretch in Sanur after the First and second Bali Bombing Incidents, an event was established on 2006 known as Sanur Village Festival. Entering the year 2017, SVF activities always become one of tourism attractions for both local and foreign tourists. The festival consists of various contests and competitions, art and cultural attractions, music as well as different types of environmentally-friendly activities. SVF also fosters synergy among communities of citizens, governments and state-owned enterprises (BUMN) to encourage productivity of creative economy and stimulate creativity of young talents. Tourism Minister, Arief Yahya said the event is an example of tourism development with community-based and highly successful. According to him, this event could be imitated by other areas in developing tourism destinations with similar models.

Abstract

Bali is known as the islands of 1000 temples, Bali has a fascinating history about dogs. It is stated in the Mahaprasthanika Parva (Book of the Great Journey) on Mahabharata Story, after the end of the big war at Kurukshetra, Dharmawangsa (Yudistira) without any hesitation said that he would not go to heaven without his dog. He chose to suffer in the mortal world with his dog because the dog accompanied him throughout the journey. The journey of Yudhishthira to heaven accompanied by a dog, then inspires the Hindu Balinese people, in honor of the dog as a symbol of loyalty. No wonder, Balinese treat dog not as a pet but as a loyal friend. However, Animals Australia investigation team' member under pseudonym ‘Luke’ on his interview conducted by Australian Broadcasting Corp (ABC), claimed to have done a veiled investigation to uncover the practice of dog meat trade for consumption on the island of Bali. The man conducted a four-month investigation on the island, armed with small video cameras and mobile phones; he managed to document the activities of dog trading; ranging from how to catch the dog to how the meat is traded. Regarding the case, Government of Bali mentioned there is no such thing has been done in Bali. However, on several occasion, the dog is indeed used as a part of the ceremony. In the same time, the government also investigated the disseminated issue. However, they found nothing.

Abstract

Bali is well known as the best tourist destination in the world. Beautiful sceneries along with its distinctive culture become the main attraction of foreign tourists to visit it. During this time, foreign tourists visit Bali is dominated by tourists from Australia and China. While for visitors from the Middle East countries is still relatively small. Middle Eastern tourists are well known as a potential market since they spend a lot of budget for their vacation. On March 4th to 9th 2017, Saudi Arabia’s King, King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz al Saud traveled to Indonesia with a group of 1500 people. They spend a lot of expenses while holiday in Bali in which gave a good impact on tourism industries in Bali. The King visit is expected to promote Indonesia Tourism especially Bali to his people. Providing information about a halal and friendly destination for tourists from Middle East countries is expected to attract more visitor from those countries. Since their religion is mostly Muslim. By providing detail information about halal tourism information thus it is expected the number of their visit to Indonesia, especially Bali will increase.

Abstract

‘Pelangi’ (Persatuan Layang-Layang Bali) or Bali Kite Association, held a kite flying festival from early July until the end of October 2017. It aims to preserve culture, stimulate creativity and grow bond and togetherness among societies as well as become a tourist attraction. Government supports the festival as means of cultural preservation as well as a tourist attraction for domestic and foreign. However, as time goes by, the land to play kite is getting narrower due to development. Therefore, attention and participation by local government and society are needed to maintain the availability of land for the sake of the preservation of this cultural festival.

Abstract

Mount Agung is the highest mountain in Bali. Located on Karangasem regency, this most elevated point in the island of Gods is sacred by the Balinese and becomes center of spiritual activities on the island. Mount Agung is an active stratovolcano. Some local volcanic and tectonic earthquakes have been reported on August 10th, 2017. as a result, The locals who live within 9 - 12 km zone from the crater have been secured. Mount Agung’s condition is fluctuate, after BNPB lowered its status from level IV to III, and the refugee went home, the volcano experienced phreatic eruption then followed by magmatic eruption on late November 2017. the news about mount Agung’s activities made tourists afraid to visit Bali. It is proved by declining number of tourist visit Bali. The government through related agencies explain that it is still possible to visit Bali. However, they should avoid any activities in the disaster-prone area. Besides, it is being discussed about plans to make the eruption as a tourist attraction. The program aims to offer new tourism potentials. Thus it may elevate the number of tourist visits to Bali as well as provide employment opportunities for the refugees.

Abstract

Mangrove forests are a group of plants that grow along sub-tropical coastlines that have a special function in an environment containing salt and landscapes such as beaches with anaerobic soil reactions. In general, mangrove forests can be defined as forest types that grow in tidal areas (especially on sheltered beaches, lagoons, and river estuaries) that are flooded by tidal and free from submerged entanglement where the mangrove ecosystem is tolerant of salt.

Abstract

As a commitment to improve health services in Bali, the Bali Provincial Government built Bali Mandara International Hospital. The hospital is to be expected becoming the best hospital in Bali. aimed to help the poor family to get the best health care. can be directed to become a medical tourism destination. However, There was some commotion on the employee’s recruitment process of Bali Mandara Hospital, where violations allegedly occurred in the process of recruitment of new employees, especially in recruiting non-government contract workers. The demonstration of Sanur community also occurred on October 28th, 2017 to demand justice and transparency in the recruitment of employees at the newly built hospital where they were promised to get ten percent quota for the job vacancies. although facing many problems, the Hospital keep operating until now. The employee recruitment system that is considered not transparent, cause the noble goal of Bali Provincial Government to improve the community’s health service through Bali Mandara Hospital is not well conveyed. Corruption, Collusion and nepotism practices that are still firmly rooted in some agencies make public’s trust toward Government become low. in addition, the public is expected to be more careful in receiving information. Because if the information is misleading, it could result in the disadvantage of many parties.

Abstract

The island of Bali not only offers the beauty of tourist objects, but the culture and traditions that exist here can be a special attraction. As the culture and traditions of Trunyan villagers, this place is a unique tourist destination, because it is a funeral of people who are placed only under a tree. Also, Trunyan Village has an Ancient art known as Barong Brutuk, even ancient art that already existed before the influx of Hinduism to Bali.
