Abstract

This study aims to find out whether the sort card media can improve speaking skills in learning to tell the experience of students of class X-3 of SMAN 2 Lasalimu Selatan. This research was compiled based on the Classroom Action Research (CAR) design which was divided into two cycles with four stages per cycle, namely planning, action, observation and reflection. The first cycle was held from 9 to 14 January 2017. The second cycle was held on January 16 to 21 2017 in class X-2 of SMAN 2 Lasalimu Selatan. The results of the study show that the use of sort card media increases speaking skills in learning to tell the experience of X-3 grade students of SMAN 2 Lasalimu Selatan. This increase is indicated by the acquisition of success percentage of 67.44% in the first cycle and increased by 5.36% in the second cycle to reach the success percentage of 76.33%

Abstract

Hikikomori is one of the most common social problems in Japan. This research's object is the anime series NHK ni Youkoso !, with 24 episodes, which premiered from July to December 2006. The author uses the observation method of note-taking techniques to collect data, and the data analysis is written descriptively. The results of this study contained 11 forms of Hikikomori behaviour in the anime that the author studied, namely: hikikomori perpetrators confined themselves for more than six months, refused to interact with other people, refused to go to school, refused to leave the room, experienced hallucinations, experienced insomnia, professional setbacks, have thoughts of persecution, have feelings of depression, desire death and suicidal thoughts, and are addicted to alcohol. Meanwhile, the factors causing hikikomori behaviour are amae and the inability to accept intervention from others.

Abstract

Water is one of the natural elements that is needed by living things. Every living thing, including humans, cannot stay without water. Therefore water is one of the basic human needs besides the need for sanitation and shelter. Water functions as a thirst quencher when humans are thirsty, and functions as fertilizer for plants during the dry season. That is why water is indispensable for maintaining the survival of humans and other creatures. Water is also the starting place for the emergence of a human civilization.

Abstract

The current generation that is known as the millennium generation is synonymous with technological and educational developments. This phenomenon is a strategy that can be used by advocates of foreign languages, especially English in packaging a material to be taught. One of the choices is the use of youtube online videos as supporting teaching materials. The technology is very easy to access, especially STMIK STIKOM Indonesia students, where almost all students have the youtube application. This study uses a qualitative description analysis method to see how attractive YouTube videos are among students, as well as video criteria that are considered interesting by them. The results of the study are packaging of youtube online videos that are tailored to the teaching material delivered to STMIK STIKOM Indonesia students, as the lecturers' handlers and student references in their own creative learning.

Abstract

Decision making in buying a product is a difficult thing for consumers, because it really depends on the type of personality which belongs to consumers. Several studies explain that the personality type of big five is a variable that could influence decision making. The aim of this research is to explain the correlation between personality types of bigfive with decision making in choosing perfumes. The research population is perfume consumers in Pekanbaru Mall with a total of 400 consumers. Data were collected using BigFive Personality inventory scale and Decision Making scale. The sample was taken using accidental sampling technique. The analysis technique that was used in this research is Product Moment correlation test analysis techniques. Based on the analysis, there is correlation between Bigfive personality and decision making in choosing perfumes with a correlation value (r) of (0.839) with a significant value (p) of (0.035) (p<0.050). The hypothesis of this research is accepted, which means there is positive and significant correlation between personality type of bigfive and decision making in choosing perfumes. The effective contribution of BigFive Personality with Decision Making is 32.9%

Abstract

This paper was compiled inspired by two articles previously written by experts such as: Prof. Dr. Phil. I Ketut Ardhana, MA "Singapore: a 'NewAlexandria'of the Far East" in this book Tourism, Cultural Identity, and Globalization Singapore (2007), discusses a lot about Singapore from a historical perspective by seeing Singapore as a New Alexandaria country and the work of Kellie Chen " Cruel Temtation ': A Case Study of a Korean Drama and its Reception in the Singaporean Community "(2011). Next, a critical review will be carried out and an analysis of the contribution of Cultural Studies (its paradigm, its theoretical framework) to Singapore's development (Epistemology). Cultural studies (cultural studies) is an interdisciplinary or postdisciplinary field of inquiry that explores the production and cultivation of meaning maps as well as a discursive formation.

Abstract

Indonesia sebagai negara multikultural memiliki beragam budaya yang memiliki identitas berbeda sesuai dengan daerah. melalui keberagaman ini dapat menyongsong nama Indonesia menjadi negara yang kaya akan budaya dan dapat dikenal di seluruh dunia. Budaya memiliki makna yang berbeda-beda di setiap daerah. Salah satu budaya yang ada di daerah Jember salah satunya “Ritus Budaya Tingkeban” yang berfungsi sebagai perekat sosial pada masyarakat. Ritus budaya tingkeban ini merupakan upacara yang dilakukan sebagai bentuk kehormatan dalam kehamilan usia 7 bulan seorang ibu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bentuk rangkaian tingkeban sebagai perekat sosial dari masyarakat Jember. Penelitian ini dilakukan melalui metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif sedangkan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi dan wawancara pada masyarakat Jember.

Abstract

Culture has become a national cultural heritage, where culture is not only seen from the physical side as a beauty but more than that is the philosophical values contained in it. Dance and traditional musical instruments must be introduced and taught early. The orphanage children have the right to receive education and training to receive traditional, also they are including the next generation who must preserve education in Indonesia. The method used is by conducting counseling, training, and mentoring techniques. This program lasts for four months with the potential results obtained, namely in the distribution of scientific, social and educational articles through learning by videos.

Abstract

Kreasi kuliner pada suatu daerah dapat menandakan suatu bentuk identitas kelompok masyarakat yang memiliki ciri khas yang unik. Adanya gelombang migrasi secara massif etnik Jawa dan Madura yang tersebar di wilayah Keresidenan Besuki pada Orde Baru, melahirkan akulturasi budaya pada wilayah Kota Jember yaitu budaya Pandhalungan. Budaya ini juga mempengaruhi pada aspek kuliner, salah satunya adalah Wedhang Cor. Modernitas mempengaruhi selera kuliner seseorang, namun wedhang cor sebagai minuman tradisional masih ramai pengunjung. Wedhang Cor merupakan minuman khas dari Kota Jember dimana minuman yang merupakan campuran dari rempah-rempah pilihan dan memberikan rasa hangat dan menyegarkan di tubuh. Minuman ini memiliki penikmat dari berbagai kalangan, karena dianggap memiliki keunikan rasa dan juga khasiat yang menyehatkan tubuh karena memiliki komposisi seperti jahe, susu, dan ketan hitam yang diaduk menjadi satu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan wedhang cor menjadi symbol budaya Kota Jember (2) Mengidentifikasi filosofi dibalik minuman wedhang cor mengetahui filosofi dari salah satu minuman khas Jember. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kecamatan Sumbersari, Kabupaten Jember dengan menggunakan teknik metode penelitian kualitatif, dengan perolehan data dan informasi melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa wedhang cor memiliki filosofi yang mendalam tentang relasi dan juga falsafah kehidupan bermasyarakat yang direpresentasikan melalui minuman/wedhang, hal ini mencirikan masyarakat pandalungan yang memiliki sikap terbuka, mudah beradaptasi, dan ekspresif.
