Abstract

According to the observations by researchers that communication from business leaders to their subordinates still shows the boundary between leaders and subordinates. This phenomenon is the reason in this study. Information received by employees received in advance by a senior assistant manager of business development, The information received by employees is also not intact, because in this field of business development if there is a message to be delivered by the leader then the first person receiving the message is a senior assistant manager. The purpose of this study is to find out how the leadership’s downward communication strategy in improving employee work effectiveness at PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia I (PERSERO), as well as any factors that become obstacles to the downward communication strategy of business development leaders. This study used situational theory on this reaserch. The researcher selected the business manager’s senior manager as a key informant, and five additional informants to strengthen the validity of a study. The results of this research process, the researchers found that with the instruction of task, openness, trust, information, feedback carried out by business leaders to their employees had been well implemented.

Abstract

Participation of people are needed to have political participation in the village’s election. Because participation are means for development and proceeded to the political democracy. The subject in this study is “ how participates society in the village elections in the village of Orahili village” and “ Any factor of what drives society can participate in the head of the village election in Orahili village in 2014”. Research results and discussion explains the participation at Orahili village very high participation in the village’s election activities, the first conclution that level of awareness community begins to grow and the second, people are looking for an experienced leader in government to be sure to smister and serve the public without limit.

Abstract

This research tries to examine how the perception of society that is formed on local community which located at SAR Medan operation conducted search operation of missing person in Sibayak Mountain. The theory used in this research is the theory of perception, Society and Performance. The method used in this research is qualitative method in the form of descriptive study.  Data analysis that researchers use is data analysis made by Miles and Huberman. Research subjects in this study involving 3 local people who are in the area they were selected using sampling snowball techniques treated through interviews. Abstract

The role of the Office of Social Affairs in addressing the problem of sexual violence against children as a place to provide public complaints about the problem and duty to help resolve the problem. A child is a person under 17 years of age and unmarried, where the child is someone who must be protected, nurtured and fostered to achieve prosperity. Sexual violence is a real action related to intimacy or sexuality that results in victims suffering physically, materially, mentally, or psychologically. In its role in overcoming the problem of sexual violence against children, the Social Service is tasked with assisting victims, witnesses, and perpetrators who are still children from the investigation stage to the trial. The social service also has obstacles in solving the problem of sexual violence against children in the form of budget problems and sectoral ego. Abstract

The Purpose of this tudy is to study public communication strategy to build image and trust of prospective Jemaah hajj and umroh at PT. Siar Tour Medan. This study has been motivated because the implementation of the hajj and umroh so far ineffectice and inefficient. It has influenced service quality to customers. Methode that used in this stdy is qualitative and used descriptive analysis technique. This study used public relation by RUSLAN Theory known as PENCILS and the image that created through fourth components explain by SOleh Soemirat and Elvinaro Ardianto in the book dasar-dasar Public Relation such as perception, cognition, motivation and attitude.

Abstract

Pilkada is a means to realize the sovereignty of the people in government, therefore Pilkada must be held in a quality manner with the broadest participation of the people. The purpose of the study was to find out how the Gerindra Party's strategy in winning Dahlan Hasan Nasution Ja'far Sukhairi Nasution as the Regent and Deputy Regent of Mandailing Natal District as well as the obstacles experienced during the campaign. The type of research used in this study is a qualitative research method. And the theory used in this research is Henry Mintzberg's theory, James Brian which includes, strategies as plan, ploy, pattern, position, perspective. Approaching community leaders, academics, village heads, mass organizations and visiting every time there is a crowd in the community are the main points that are carried out. with the systemic campaign, the community is convinced that the couple is a worthy partner to be chosen to be the leader in their area so that the pair is able to obtain 56.67% of the votes.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the existence of public opinion about the issue of discourse of Lake Toba tourism destination as a global Toba Caldera Geopark by UNESCO which was pioneered by the Central and Regional Government through the website kompas.com. the problem in this study is how Student / Student opinion about the issue of discourse of Lake Toba tourism destinations as a global UNESCO Geopark Caldera. The research objective was to find out public opinion about Danau Toba tourism as a global UNESCO Geopark Caldera. To obtain this data used descriptive quantitative research method with analysis of respondents' distribution tables. The research technique was carried out by distributing questionnaire to 60 respondents who were active students of USU's Communication Department. The results of the study that public opinion is combined with the research conceptual framework, namely the AIDDA theory consists of attention, interest, desire, decision, action to produce public opinion on the issue of Lake Toba tourism destination discourse as global UNESCO Geopark Caldera.

Abstract

Early childhood education is directed to facilitate the child's healthy growth and optimal development in accordance with the values, norms, and expectations of the community. The aim is to form quality children, ie children who grow and develop according to their level of development. This research is in the form of descriptive qualitative approach that is describing the data obtained from the field and explain it in words. This study aims to determine the role of Dewantara Kindergarten in improving the quality of early childhood education in Titi Kuning Village, Medan Johor District. Based on the data that has been collected can be seen from several factors, namely, norms, concepts, and individual behavior that has been used to see how the role performed by Dewantara Kindergarten. all factors went well, So with the role of kindergarten Dewantara, Titi Kuning Village, Medan Johor District, it can improve the quality of early childhood education.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out interpersonal communication in the assimilation of the Javanese and Tamil Groups in the dead alley, to find out the assimilation of Javanese tribes and Tamil tibes in Sei Serayu Buntu Alley, Medan Sunggal sub-district, North Sumatera, and to find out what factors were the barriers and supporters of the assimilation of Javanese and Tamil tribes. This study uses the assimilation theory. In collecting data, research conducted face to face interviews with four informants, including two Tamil informants, and two Javanese informants. This study uses skinative research with descriptive analysis. The results of this study are that there is a mixed marriage between the Javanese and Tamil tribes as well as a factor of tolerance and cultural similarity between the two tribes.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the marketing communication strategy undertaken by Brothers Cafe in building brand image for visitors in Medan and its supporting factors and obstacles. The research method is a descriptive qualitative data collection technique with methods of observation, interviews, library research, and documentation. The results of marketing communication strategy research conducted by Brothers Cafe to build brand image, present European-style concepts with a western theme, present a unique menu with an international standard, conduct event programs on holidays, utilize social media such as Instagram and others, work with communities and companies Other companies and factors that support marketing communication strategies in building brand image for visitors in Medan are promotional activities in building brand image for visitors, including locations in office centers, and office buildings, providing facilities, comfortable decoration, presence Special discount for customers who become members. The inhibiting factors of the Brothers cafe marketing communication strategy in building brand image for visitors in Medan are issues such as adulteration, nutritional problems, halal and haram, everyone's tastes are completely different, operational costs rise at any time, sufficient business competition strict. The conclusion obtained by the marketing communication strategy that Brothers cafe did in building brand image for visitors in Medan through promotional activities.
