Abstract

Teachers need to have innovations in teaching Arabic conversation through the right method in order to obtain maximum results. This article aimed to describe the application of the role playing method in Arabic conversation at MTs Gayam Kadur Pamekasan. Researchers used a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis. Some of the obstacles in learning conversation with role playing were that the teacher did not understand it well, differences in student abilities, lack of teaching materials, and it takes a lot of time and a large space. The application of role playing has a high level of effectiveness if it is supported by the ability of teachers and student motivation in addition to a pleasant learning atmosphere.

Abstract

Arabic students need to have proficiency in using Arabic grammar both syntactically and morphologically. This article aimed to measure student grammar proficiency and analyze error answers to the Arabic language education students of Institut Agama Islam Al-Falah As-Sunniyyah Kencong Jember, class 2018-2019 with objective test instruments taken from Learning al-Jazeera.net website. This article used a qualitative approach with documentation as a data collection technique. A total of 54 samples found an average grammar proficiency of students in that batch of 54.5%. These results indicated the students' ability to occupy the upper intermediate level. Understanding grammar functionally and observing its syntactic effects needs to be emphasized in learning so that students can construct or analyze sentence structures correctly.

Abstract

Learning Arabic-speaking skills is a must for Arabic learners. Several methods are often practiced in learning to speak Arabic. Educators need to pay attention to the typology of their students so that they can choose the right method. This research-oriented was to evaluate the relevant methods for studying Arabic communication. In this article, the researcher used a qualitative method with data sources from the literature documentation. The results of this research found that there were advantages and disadvantages to each method that was used to train students' speaking skills. Success in using the method depended on the competence of educators in applying it, supporting media, and teaching materials that were appropriate to the context of the learner. To achieve Arabic-speaking skills, a combination of various elements in learning is needed.

Abstract

Sociolinguistics is a science that discusses the use of language in society and how language can be embedded in social relations in society, the social background of a speaker and the meaning of what is conveyed, and issues that touch the character and social identity of a speaker. The existence of a social environment is one aspect that determines success in teaching foreign languages. The purpose of this article was to specifically explain the role of sociolinguistics in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers. Researcher used descriptive qualitative approach by reviewing indepth sociolinguistic theories in playing a role in learning Arabic to non-native speakers. The results of the research showed that sociolinguistic theories had strong correlation in teaching Arabic for non-native speakers. Sociolinguistics can be used as a guide in preparing learning tools and solving practical problems in teaching Arabic.

Abstract

Teachers have a vital role in the success of student learning at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 1 Jember. Teachers need to have competence in teaching and educating. The purpose of this article was to describe the teacher's role as a source of knowledge, motivator, and learning model. This study used a phenomenological qualitative approach. Data collection methods were observation, interviews, and documentation. Research findings indicated that teachers hold most of the parts in the success of the teaching and learning process. The success of student learning was highly dependent on the role of the teacher. The teachers act as a source of information that they apply interested teaching-learning process and show students how to learn creatively and effectively.
