Abstract

For the Bugis community in the Bugis Karangantu Banten village, death has a rite that is heavily colored by Islamic teachings. This is because death is the transition of human life from the real world to the mysterious realm, and Islam is believed to be a religion that can answer all mysterious problems after death. However, there are still some forms of ritual that appear to be inherited from pre-Islamic traditions. There are two unique rituals from the death rites of the Bugis Muslim community on the coast of Karangantu Banten, which are not found in the death rites of the Muslim community of Banten in general. First, the Mapasili rite which is performed on the 3rd day, and second, the Matampung rite which is generally performed on the 7th or 40th day, or after several months or one year has passed depending on the readiness of funds from the family of the deceased to perform the rite. this is because it costs a lot of money, such as a celebration or wedding ceremony. The Matampung rite is the biggest rite along the death rite for the Bugis people on the Karangantu coast, Banten

Abstract

Comprehensive understanding of prophetic text which is correlated with anthropological phenomena is difficult to achieve. This occurs because there are a number of reading subjectivity and scientific traditions that have been hegemonized by the domination of authoritative communities and their interests. Likewise, what happened to the phenomenon of humiliation (the Chinese nation and its civilization), instead of obtaining a source of prophetic text that placed the nation on an egalitarian anthropological degree with other nations, it received sharp attention because of its strong correlation with the text "Yes, Juj and The demonic ma'juj ”. While it is known that the Chinese nation has contributed a lot to Islamic civilization, until it is enshrined in one text which is sadly debated. This paper presents a view of the entity of the Chinese Nation and its action in the corridor of the revelation text to find out its ambiguous position between the factor of harmony or destruction. The method used in this paper uses an explanatory method, where several hypotheses are tested and then affirmed or negated.

Abstract

Colonial exploitation that occurred in the 19th century in the archipelago. Creating conditions that can encourage people to carry out social movements that are dominated by continuous economic, political and cultural conditions and have led to the disorganization of traditional societies and their institutions. The entry of the Dutch in the 19th century began to cause enormous problems for the people of Banten, because the changes made by the Dutch government changed the system of government created by the Sultanate of Banten. From the traditional government structure switched to the Modern (European) government system. This has a negative impact on the structure of people's lives. Banten Ulama with the spirit of jihad, the spirit of anti-Islam, sometimes even the spirit of Nativism and Revivalism, became the driving force for various social movements that flourished in the 19th century. Throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries this movement was a historical symptom of the indigenous peasant society. Almost all of these social movements occur due to high tax collections and heavy work that puts pressure on farmers. So that in this case, the kiai's leadership in carrying out the movement against the invaders is all based on the same motivation and conditions, namely maintaining aqidah and worship. Against munkar, polytheism and kufr which are carried out in the framework of munkar ma'ruf nahyi deeds. Everything is based on sincerity to fortify Islam from the influence that damages Islamic aqidah, worship and mu'amalah. This is clearly manifested in the history of struggle which was marked by Ulama throughout the archipelago

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) Know that the Indonesian nation has been colonized by the Dutch for a period of centuries. (2) Knowing the arrival of the Dutch, they wanted to shock their power in Indonesia. (3) Knowing the causes of the Batak War. (4) Knowing the impact of the Batak war on the spread of Christianity in Batak North Sumatra. Research Methods: This study used a literature study data collection and then found the following facts: Various policies implemented by the Dutch aimed to seek profit from the spices in Indonesia so that they could provide profit for the Dutch, while the people of Indonesia who were ruled suffered severe suffering. Apart from pursuing a policy of seeking maximum profit in their colonies, the Dutch also implemented a political policy of Pax Netherlandica to support missionary activities. The policies made by the Dutch in order to perpetuate their power in Indonesia led to a reaction of resistance by the people against the Dutch policies that tormented the Indonesian people. The spread of colonialism carried out by the Dutch controlled Indonesian territories such as Java, Madura and Sumatra. The resistance was led by local leaders who were mostly worried about the politics of Pax Netherlandica which undermined their power. There was resistance by the Indonesian people and their leaders, one of which was the Tapanuli resistance or Tapanuli war or Batak War which lasted for 20 years led by Sisingamangaraja XII.
