Abstract

Background Each year, over 2 million children die of pneumonia, it means that 1 in 5 people in the world under five die of pneumonia and almost all (99.9%) deaths from pneumonia occur in developing countries (least developed). Order to determine the relationship of sex and DPT immunization status with the incidence of pneumonia in children under five (ages 1-59 months) at Tanjung Baru sub-district Puskesmas UPTD East Balfour. Method This research use analytical survay with cross sectional approach. The study population was all children under five who seek treatment at the health center UPTD Tanjung Baru during the study, with a sample of 73 people. Data analysis using univariate analysis and bivariate analysis using distribution table and Chi-Square statistical test, with 95% confidence degree. Results univariate analysis, of 73 respondents obtained 26% of respondents who suffered from pneumonia and 74% who do not suffer from pneumonia, 28.8% of respondents with male sex and 71.2% of respondents with female sex, 12.3% Respondents with incomplete DPT immunization status and 87.7% of respondents with complete DPT immunization status. The bivariate analysis results indicate no relationship sex with pneumonia (p value 0.003) and there was a DPT immunization status relationship with the incidence of pneumonia (p value 0.008). Keywords:  DPT immunization status incidence of pneumonia, sex

Abstract

The number of stroke patients in Indonesia from year to year continues to increase. Stroke in Indonesia is the number three killer after infectious disease and coronary jatung. The purpose of this study is to determine Relationship of Total Cholesterol level with Incidence of Stroke on Patients who treated at inpatient ward Dr. M. Yunus Hospital Bengkulu. This study used survey analytic design with cross sectional method. Population in this study were all stroke patients who treated at Inpatient Ward Dr. M. Yunus Hospital Bengkulu in 2016 with the amount of 355 people who contain of 138 haemoragic stroke and 217 people with non haemorragic stroke. Sample in this study was 78 people who contain of 30 people patients with haemorragic stroke and 48 people with non haemorragic stroke obtained with proporsional simple random sampling technique. Collecting data in this study used secondary data who obtained from medical record at Inpatient Ward Dr. M. Yunus Hospital Bengkulu. The results of this study : there were 48 people (61,5%)  with non haemorragic stroke; there were 36 people (46,2%)  with high cholesterol levels, and there is significant relationship between total cholesterol level with Incidence of Stroke on patients who treated at Inpatient Ward Dr. M. Yunus Hospital Bengkulu with moderate category relationship. It was expected that health workers in Stroke Inpatient Room of RSUD M. Yunus Bengkulu especially nurses in order to provide more complete nursing care, especially in stroke patients. Keywords: cholesterol levels, patient, stroke

Abstract

Good utilization of Integrated Health Services Post was very influential on monitoring the growth and development of  under five children under five. This study aimed to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitude of mother with the utilization of  Integrated Health Services Post by mothers of under five children in working area Ratu Agung  Community Health Center Bengkulu. The type of this research was Analytical Survey and used Cross Sectional design. The population of  this study  were all mothers who had 7-23 months children amounted 512 mothers. Sampling technique was Proportional Random Sampling. The total samples were  84 samples. Data used in this study are primary data through the distribution of questionnaires given to mothers. Data analiysed by using Chi-Square (χ2) and Contingency Coefficient (C) statistics test. The result of the research were  44 mothers (52,4%) had enough knowledge, 56 mothers (66,7%) had favorable behavior, 53 mothers (63,1%) utilized Integrated Health Services Post, and there was significant relationship  between knowledge and attitude of mothers with the usage of Integrated Health Services Post in the working area of Ratu Agung Community Health Center Bengkulu with medium category. Ratu Agung Community Health Center can increase the knowledge of the community by doing education about the importance of Integrated Health Services Post so that community, especially mothers with under five  children can understand the importance of Integrated Health Services Post and can visit regularly every month.                                                                               Keywords :  attitude, knowledge,  utilization  of   integrated  health  services  post

Abstract

One effort to improve the quality of human life can be done through efforts to improve health including reproductive health. This study aimed to study                      the relationship between mass media exposure and family environment with reproductive health in girls of class XI in SMA Negeri 10 Kota Bengkulu. The type of research was Analytic Survey. The study design was Cross Sectional. The sample of the research was all girls of class XI in SMA Negeri 10 Kota Bengkulu which amounts to 87 girls. Sampling technique used is Total Sampling. Data collection techniques used primary and secondary data. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis. Bivariate analysis using Chi-Square test.                   To know the closeness of the relationship was used statistical test Contingency Coefficient (C). The results of  the study showed that of 87 girls, 71 girls (81.6%) got information from the family environment, 76 girls (87.4%) were exposed to mass media, 73 girls (83.9%) had health healthy reproduction, there was no significant relationship between mass media exposure and reproductive health of girls, and there was a significant relationship between the family environment with reproductive health of  girls with weak relationship categories. It was suggested to the school to be able to conduct counseling and seminar related to reproductive health for young women. Keywords: family environment, mass media, reproductive health

Abstract

The impact and dangers  of  Pulmonary Tuberculosis  incidence is causing death. In Bengkulu province in 2011 there were 1.565 cases of  pulmonary  tuberculosis in 2012  there were 1,670 cases of pulmonary tuberculosis in 2013 there were 2.671 cases of pulmonary tuberculosis and in 2014 there were 2.014 cases of pulmonary tuberculosis this showed that pulmonary tuberculosis was still high. The purpose of this study was to study the relationship of PMO role with                         the success of the treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis patients in working area of Sukamerindu Public Health Center Bengkulu. The type of research used was                 an analytic survey, with Cross Sectional research design. Population in this research was all patient of pulmonary tuberculosis in working area of  Sukamerindu Public Health Center Bengkulu which had treatment 5 months amounted to 36 people in 2015. Samples taken by using total sampling which amounted to 36 people. Data analysis was done by univariate and bivariate analysis using uni Chi-Square (χ2). The results of this study were 41 patients with pulmonary tuberculosis,  20 people (55.6%)  had good role of  PMO, and there were 30 people (83.3%) who had successful treatment, there was a significant relationship between the role of PMO with successful treatment of patients with pulmonary tuberculosis with moderate category. It was  suggested to the related institution to improve and supervise the cadre of  (PMO) so that the success of   the treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis will  increasing. Keywords : drug  supervisor (PMO), successful  treatment, pulmonary  tuberculosis  patients

Abstract

High risk of pregnancy are signs that indicate a danger that may occur during pregnancy that if not reported or detected can cause maternal death. This study aimed to study  factors related to knowledge of  high risk sign of third trimester pregnancy in working area of Tebing Tinggi Public Health Center Sub-district of Empat Lawang Regency. This research used cross sectional design. Population in this research was all third trimester pregnant woman in working area of Tebing Tinggi Public Health Center Regency of  Empat Lawang. Sampling technique used accidental sampling. Data collection in this study used primary data. Collected data were analyzed by using univariate and bivariate analysis by using chi-square test. The result showed that there were 19 mother (43.2%) with enough knowledge, 25 mother (56.8%) with age 20-35 years old, 20 mother (45,5%) with secondary education, 20 mother (45.5%) with multiparas parity, there was   a significant relationship between maternal age and knowledge of  high risk sign of third trimester pregnancy with moderate relationship category, there was a significant relationship between maternal education with knowledge of  high risk sign of third trimester pregnancy with relationship category moderate, there was a significant relationship between pregnant mother's parity with knowledge of high risk sign of third trimester pregnancy with moderate relationship category. Keywords: age, education, knowledge, parity

Abstract

Use cooking oil for everyday cooking very often used it makes the majority of community especially the food trade is highly dependent on cooking oil. Cooking oil serves as a conductor of heat, savory flavor enchancer, and adding value calorie fried foods. This study aimed to determine the relationships of knowledge, attitude, and use of cooking oil at taders around University Esa Unggul. This research is an analytical survey  with cross sectional Study design. The data were obtained using questionnaire. Data processing using Chi Square Test with a confidence level of 95% and α = 0,05. This study conducted in Desember 2016 till Febuary 2017. This study population all traders in Universitasy  Esa Unggul with sample 45 peoples. There is a relationship between knowledge an use of cooking oil p value 0.011 (p0.05)  and there is a relationship attitude and use of cooking oil p value 0.024 (p0.05). Abstract

Breastfeeding supplements are recommended at 6 months of age. Under the age of  6 months the baby's digestive system does not have an enzyme to digest the food. As a result of complementary feeding of milk may aggravate the work of  the baby's organs, baby's intestine also can not work perfectly so it can cause diarrhea, colic and allergic reactions. This study aimed to study the relationship of mother's knowledge and family support with complementary feeding practice (MP-ASI) in infants 6 months in working area of Pasar Ikan Public Health Center Bengkulu. This study used a type of Correlational Descriptive using Cross Sectional research design. The population in this study was  all breastfeeding mothers with babies 6 months of age in  working area of Pasar Ikan Public Health Center Bengkulu. Number of  samples were 42 mothers. Sampling technique in this research used Accidental Sampling. Data collection in this study used primary data obtained directly from respondents using questionnaires and secondary data. Data analysis was done univariat, bivariate with Chi-Square test. The results of the study were : of  42 mothers, 26 mothers (61.9%) gave early complementary feeding practice, 23 mothers (54.8%) had less knowledge, 27 mothers (64.3%) received poor family support, there was significant association between  maternal knowledge and early complementary feeding practice with moderate-relationship category, and there was a significant relationship between family support and early complementary feeding practice with moderate-relationship category. Keywords:  complementary feeding practice, family support, knowledge

Abstract

This study was based on the still high nutrient deficiency of  elderly in                  the working area of  Bentiring  Community  Health  Center   Bengkulu. This study aimed to study the relationship between education and knowledge with                        nutritional  status of  elderly in  Elderly  Integrated  Service  Post  working  area  of   Bentiring  Community  Health  Center Bengkulu. The  research type was Analytical Survey and the desain of research was Cross Sectional. The population of  this  study  was  all  elderly who visited  Elderly Integrated  Service Post                in  the  working  area  of Bentiring Community  Health  Center  Bengkulu                   in January to April 2017 which amounted to 52 elderly. Sampling technique in this research used   Total  Sampling. The data collected in this study used primary data and secondary data with data analysis technique done by univariate and bivariate analysis with Chi-Square test (c²) through SPSS 16 program. The result of  this research were : from 52 elderly,  there were  35 elderly (67,3%)  with basic education, 27 elderly  (51,9%)  who had  less knowledge, 20 elderly  (38,5%)  had  less  nutritional  status, there was significant relationship  between  education  with  nutritional  status of  elderly  with  medium category, and there was a significant relationship between knowledge with nutritional status  of  elderly with close category. It was expected to Bentiring Community Health Center Bengkulu to improve health services to the elderly by providing nutrition education and medical  examination  for  elderly.  Keywords : education, elderly, knowledge, nutritional status, elderly

Abstract

The antenatal care (ANC) is an examination of pregnant women during pregnancy to prevent complications and prepare for healthy births. This study aimed to study the factors related to ANC among  pregnant women in  working area of Citra Medika Public Health Center Lubuklinggau. The type of  this study used was Deskriptif Correlation with Cross Sectional design. The population in this study was all postpartum mothers in working area of Citra Medika Public Health Center Lubuklinggau amounted 151 mothers. Sampling technique was Total Sampling. This study was conducted during month of July-August 2017 at Citra Medika Public Health Center Lubuklinggau. Analysis data in this study used univariate and bivariate analyses with Chi-Square statistical test. The results of the study were: 77 mothers (51.0%) did not complete their ANC visit,  91 mothers (60.3%) were middle education, 78 mothers (51.7%) aged 20-35 years old, 104 mothers (68.9%) with multipara parity. There was a significant correlation between maternal education with ANC visit  with closeness of the relationship was medium category, there was a significant correlation between maternal age with ANC visit with closeness of the relationship was medium category, and there was                 a significant correlation between parity with ANC visit with closeness of                                  the relationship was medium category. Keywords:  age, ANC, education, parity
