This study aims to determine whether there is an influence on students' mathematical creative thinking abilities who are taught using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model with students using conventional learning. This research was carried out at SMK Putra Anda Binjai in the 2019/2020 academic year. The method used in this research is quasi-experimental. Sampling was done by purposive sampling. The research sample consisted of 60 students consisting of 30 students in the experimental class and 30 students in the control class. The research instrument given was in the form of a test consisting of 5 description questions. Based on the results of the study, the average score of students taught by the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model was higher than the average score of students taught by conventional learning. This can be seen from the average value of the experimental class 60.00 and the average value of the control class 51.00. The results of the calculation of data analysis using the t test with a value of t_count t_table (0,306 1,671) with degrees of freedom dk = 30, with a significant level of 0.05. Thus H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means that the students' mathematical creative thinking ability in the experimental class is greater than the mathematical creative thinking ability of students in the control class. This means that there is an effect of using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model on the mathematical creative thinking ability of class X students of SMK Putra Anda Binjai.

Education helps prepare students to have various abilities and skills that can help them to face and solve real-life problems. One of the skills that every student must possess in order to become a highly qualified human resource is the ability to think critically. The results of the initial research conducted found that out of 30 students who took the critical thinking ability test, only 3 people could answer 2 questions with perfect answers from the 4 questions given. The rest, there are those who answer 1 question, there are even students. Unable to answer all the questions correctly. Students are very difficult to identify the process / mathematical concepts contained in the problem situation given, asked, and check the adequacy of the data, so that students are not able to perform the stages of analysis, evaluation, and inference correctly. This shows that students' critical thinking skills are still low. Whereas critical thinking is one of the important skills to be developed in 21st century learning. This research is a quasi-experimental or quasi-experimental research with a quantitative approach. In this study, the research sample was thirty-five students majoring in science at one Madrasah Aliyah in the city of Medan. To see whether there is an increase in logical thinking ability, a pretest-posttest one group design is used. Then the data that has been collected is analyzed using descriptive statistics. The average critical thinking ability of students increased well. The increase in the mean value of the pretest and posttest does not describe a better ability increase, the n-gain value describes the condition of increasing students' critical thinking skills after receiving TAI learning. The average value of increasing students' critical thinking skills is included in the increase in the high category. Therefore, it was found that the Accelerated Learning (AL) Learning Model can be used as an effort to improve students' mathematical critical thinking skills.

This article was a qualitative research with using phenomenology approach. The researchers were the main research instruments in this study in order to analyze the type of informatics engineering studenet’s learning obstacles in calculus subject, its causative factors and the ways to overcome the students’ learning obstacles. Researcher as the lecturer used test, questionnaire, observation sheet and interview technique to collect the data. The subject of this study was 47 students of informatics engineering study programme, while the object of this study was the students’ learning obstacles. According to the data analysis results, the findings of this study are: (1) the type of informatics engineering studenet’s learning obstacles in calculus subject are in the principle, concept, operation and fact; (2) the causative factors of informatics engineering students’ learning obstacles in calculus subject are: less using of learning media, using incorrect methods, less of study needs, the lowerness of students’ intelligence, the lowerness of students’ motivation in learning mathematics and the lowerness of students’ prior mathematical knowledge; and (3) to overcome the informatics engineering students’ learning obstacles in calculus subjectare: rearrange learning schedule at home, give guidance to the students, using variatif methods, using clear learning methods and multiplicate the supportive learning facilities.

The purpose of this research is to produce statistical textbooks using the SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution) application as self-education for students who meet the criteria of validity, practicality and effectiveness. This research is a development research that uses the ADDIE development model which implements an Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate stage. The results obtained in this study are the quality of textbook development results from the results of material validation analysis with a percentage of 90%, design validation analysis with a percentage of 88.9% fulfilling very valid criteria. The results of the questionnaire analysis show that the textbook meets the very practical criteria. Based on the results of the analysis of the lecturer assessment questionnaire with a percentage of 90%, the results of the small group trial questionnaire analysis with a percentage of 79.50%. Thus, statistical textbooks using the SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution) application meet the valid and practical criteria.

The ability to solve problems is part of the purpose of learning mathematics in junior high school, but the reality that occurs in the field is not the case. This can be seen from the lack of trained students and find it difficult to work on the stages of problem solving so that students' mathematical problem-solving abilities are still relatively low. Therefore, Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model is used by using questions based on local culture. This study aims to look at differences in the improvement of students' mathematical problem-solving abilities between those through the PBL learning model using questions based on local culture and students who use conventional learning in class VII. The method is Quasi Experimental Design with the Random Sampling Cluster technique, VIIB class as the experimental and the VIID class as the control. Data processing is performed by the formula N-gain, then hypothesis testing is done using the t test. From the results of data analysis shows that there are significant differences in the improvement of students' mathematical problem-solving abilities between those who go through the PBL learning model by using questions based on local culture and those using conventional learning.

The background of this research is the writer's curiosity to the Graduates of Mathematics department at IAIN Padangsidimpuan. This article will describe the competencies of graduates of Mathematics department after they work. This article will also describe whether the Mathematics department has been able to prepare graduates' competencies in facing the challenges of the job market. The results of this study indicate that 95% of graduates are already working. Most of the graduates work in the education sector as mathematics teachers at various levels of public and private schools. It can be said that the place where they work is in accordance with their skill background. However, many of them still receive a very low salaries. Many of Ther salaries are under one million. For them, it does not matter, the most important thing for them is they can work and they can apply their skills. Most of them are not too long to get the first job after graduated their studi, because before they graduate from their collage, they have started to look for a job.

This study aims to improve students' mathematical reasoning on the subject matter of cubes and blocks through the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach. This is motivated by the low mathematical reasoning of students at the time of learning.This research is a type of Classroom Action Research using Kurt Lewin's model which consists of two cycles, each cycle consists of four steps, namely: planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection instruments used in the form of tests and observations. This research was conducted in class VIII3 of SMP Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan in April 2019. The results of this study indicate that the action hypothesis is accepted. Mathematical reasoning ability of students showed an increase in the pre-cycle of students' mathematical reasoning completeness was 21.74% (5 people), in the first cycle of meetings 1 and 2 students' completeness was 47.83% (11 people) and 60.87% (14 people). In the second cycle of meetings 1 and 2, the students' completeness was 73.91% (17 people) and 86.95% (20 people). The percentage of mathematical reasoning completeness of the students above has reached 80% of the number of students, so this research is said to have been successful. For further researchers, it is hoped that they can use the results of this study as a study for conducting further research on the application of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach to wider materials on cubes and blocks.

This research purpose to many students are slow to understand the material being tauht, the students is not yet actively expressing his or her opinion, apt to silent, so it is difficult to know whether or not the students is familiar with the material and teacher learning use the methods of speaking and giving duties to the students later at the end of the assignment and being assembled and inspected by the teacher. So efforts by researchers in resolving the above problem by applying the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model. This research purpose to know the increasing students cognitive capability through the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model on linear two-variable equations systems in class VIII MTs private Baharuddin Angkola Muaratais district. This research applied classroom action research (CAR). Classroom action research is discuss process by cycle system. This research done two cycle, every cycle comprise with two meeting. Instrument of collecting date are test and observation. The study subject was class VIII MTs private Baharuddin in 2020/2021 year of 34 students 19 sons and 15 daughters. Studies show that the first test of the completed number of students is 6 people at 17,65%. After application of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model there is an increase in the students’ cognitive abilities at each meeting. In the first cycle of the first meeting the average completed of students by 69,67 with the percentage of completeness of 32,35%, the first cycle of the second meeting the average completed of students by 76,88 with the percentage of completeness of 50%, in the second cycle of the first meeting the average completed of students by 83,15 with the percentage of completeness of 70,59%, the second cycle of the second meeting the average completed of students by 90,09 with the percentage of completeness of 85,29%. The students target of achievement is 75%, then this research can be terminated. So it could be concluded that students’ cognitive abilities could increase through a Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model on linear two-variable equations systems in class VIII MTs private Baharuddin Angkola Muaratais district.

The purpose of research in mathematics learning is to obtain the needs of lecturers and students of Tadris Mathematics IAIN Curup, to plan the development, design, design, design, effectiveness of ethnomathematics-based learning to make an innovative mathematics laboratory. This type of research is a mixed method that is a combination of quantitative and qualitative research. The Plomp model phase consists of an investigation phase, a design phase, a realization/construction phase, a test phase, an evaluation, and a revision and implementation phase. This research was carried out on Tadris Mathematics students of IAIN Semester IV Academic Year 2018/2019 The results of the perception questionnaire of Tadris Mathematics lecturers and students showed 72% of students and 100% of lecturers stated that the mathematics learning used so far was not appropriate. Initial design planning for the development of ethnomathematical-based Geometry Transformation teaching materials.Study book design with 5 (five) chapters consisting of 42 pages and a bibliography. The results of RPS/SAP validation with an average of 3.24 categories are quite good with slight revisions, 3.15 textbook categories are good enough so that they can be used with slight revisions and LKM with an average of 3.03 categories are quite good with revisions. The results of the practicality of the book obtained an average of 4.38 in the good/practical category, the practicality of the LKM with an average of 4.45 in the good/practical category and the practicality response of learning mathematics with an average of 91.7% which means it is very practical. The results of the effectiveness of learning mathematics obtained from observations of lecturer activities assessed by observers, obtained 84% of lecturer activities according to RPS.

This article aims to analyze the difficulties in learning mathematics of students in the Tadris/Mathematics Education Study Program during the online learning process in the Group Theory course during the Covid-19 Pandemic. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The research subjects were students of the fifth semester of Tadris/Mathematical Education, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training at IAIN Padangsidimpuan who took the Group Theory course. The research data was taken from a questionnaire on learning difficulties in mathematics which was distributed to students. The results of the data analysis showed that students experienced some difficulties in learning mathematics during the online learning process. The learning difficulties faced by these students are; 1) 88.86% of the difficulties faced by students in terms of technical problems affecting the wifi signal/network; 2) 75.43% of the difficulties faced by students in terms of students' inability to understand Group Theory material through online learning both in terms of defining, giving examples to providing proof of Group Theorem and solving problems in Group Theory; 3) then 78.04% of interactions during the online learning process that are less focused; and 4) 74.09% of students experience difficulties in terms of assignments and teaching materials in online learning.
