Abstract

AbstractLearning activity is an essential activity in all of the process education that engages two active agent, they are teacher and students. Teacher as an educator and instructor is one of the determinants for success in each effort education. Qualification of teacher in conveying material that can attractive enthusiasm and motivation of students for their learning is one of achievement that show level of teachers‟ professional itself.One of form of teacher management that can be done for increasing teachers‟ professional to achieve quality of learning is Lesson Study. Lesson study is “model of profession instruction of educator through learning as collaborative and continue rest on principles collegialities and mutual learning in community study. With lesson study, the teacher can ease to increase teaching quality and professionalism. Thereby, it can increase learning and produce the students has high quality.

Abstract

Constructivism approach is a concept that many talk about mathematic and is expected to become the intellectual foundation to develop and analyze mathematical learning problems. Pendekatan constructivism is one of the alternative settlement and expected as an activity undertaken in mathematics learning in order to become better and more effective so that students will achieve better result. In applying the approach of constructivism in mathematic learning, the teacher really have to pay attention to the environmental conditions for students and student’s readiness to learn, because it is as a means of interaction for them, and require attention eamest for theacher.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve students' cognitive abilities in the implementation of the mathematics learning process by using problem posing strategies. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) in collaboration with teachers in Mathematics. This research was conducted at Padangsidimpuan Middle School 7. With research subjects class VII-1, amounting to 28 people. Data collection instruments used were tests. CAR procedures start from the planning, action, observation and reflection stages. This research was conducted in 2 cycles, each cycle having 2 meetings. The results of this study indicate that the cognitive abilities of students of class VII-1 SMP N 7 Padangsidimpuan increased by using the Problem Posing strategy. Because the increase in students' cognitive abilities through tests given during the learning process took place from the first cycle of the first meeting from 53.57% to 57.14% the first cycle of the second meeting and the second cycle of the first meeting from 75% to 85.14% the second cycle of the second meeting . In accordance with the indicators of the action of this study the results obtained have passed the predetermined average value of the average value of 75 until the second cycle of meeting 2 which is 77.92 with the percentage of students who complete 85.72.

Abstract

Learning math is a process or activity of teachers in teaching mathematics to students, to create the ability, potential, interests, diverserse talents so that the interaction optimal airning at obtaining a variety of learning experiences better and meaningful. A teacher should be able to apply innovative instructional strategies that can improve the spirit of the students in learning, so students will not feel bored with the material  that has been taught so as to achieve maximum learning results.Cooperative learning model talking stick is an interesting mathematical model of learning and makes students more axcited and interested in learning so that student learning outcomes for the better. Students become more active in presenting their opinions and respond to his opinion. In addition, with the stick rolling with the accompaniment of music, then learning of mathematics more fun.

Abstract

The background of the problem in this research is the difficulties of students in studying and understanding the concept of two-variable linear equation system (SPLDV) in class VII SMP Negeri 7 Padangsidimpuan. From the above background, this study aims to determine the level of difficulty of students to understanding the concept of two-variable linear equation system, to know the factors that cause student learning difficulties and how the teachar’s efforts overcome the student’s learning difficulties.This research is a qualitative research. The sources of this research are students and teachers of VII mathematics class at SMP Negeri 7 Padangsidimpuan. Then the instrument in this  research is observation, interview and test.Base on the result of the study of mathematics learning difficulties to the understanding of the concept of two-variable linear equation system (SPLDV) is that students do not understand the concept of algebra calculation, in other words the students still do not understand the counting operation on the algebra. Carelessness done by students in answering the matter of system linear equations of two variables, it is because students rush or see other students wrong. Error principle of operation count on system of linear equation of two variable often happened done student especially student not pay attention to sign of negative and positive. Factors causing student learning difficulties are caused by two external and internal factors of students. The dominant factor that cause the difficulties of learning the students is the motivation of students who are less in learning mathematics. While the efforts made by mathematics teachers in overcoming the difficulties of students is to focus more on the understanding of the concepts in learning mathematics, especially on SPLDV, member motivation to students and give special attention to students who have difficulty in learning the system of two linear equations

Abstract

The background of the problem in this study is the students 'mistakes in solving mathematical questions of Algebraic material which are seen from the results of tests, interviews and the percentage of students' mistakes in solving operational problems in Algebra form.Based on the background of the research above, the purpose of this study is to find out the mistakes of students in solving the operational problems of algebraic form and the factors that influence students' mistakes in solving the algebraic forms of operating questions in class VIII MTsN Siabu.This research was conducted at MTsN Siabu. Data analysis was carried out in the form of descriptive qualitative analysis, namely analyzing and presenting facts systematically. The technique used to collect data is tests and interviews. Furthermore, this study has primary data sources, namely class VIII MTsN Siabu and secondary data sources, namely the teacher of mathematics study class VIII MTsN Siabu.The results of this study are the types of mistakes made by students in solving operating problems algebraic forms are strategy errors, translation errors, conceptual errors, calculation errors, and sign errors. Then the causes of errors made by students in completing algebraic forms of operating questions are internal factors and external factors.

Abstract

AbstractEducation aims at person’s potency development process. Here, potency turns to competence. The competence is a mirror of person’s ability and skill for work. Teacher needs to know students’ talents, and smartness. The smartness is a reachable thing. Additionally, it is not only a thing person was born with, but it might be gained through supported situation like closed-relation communication.There should be free time and opportunity for students to develop their own sense, creation and practice. Accordingly, mathematic students should stand alone to study through their potency. Being a primary subject, mathematic is not simple subject to study. Therefore, mathematic teacher should be creative and innovative. In conclusion, the teachers should have good technique and method to improve students’ multiple intelligences based on local and social characters for nation character.

Abstract

The background of the research is students’ comprehension of two dimentional figure was low. It caused learning meadia that used by teacher was less varied and it cannot attract students’ attention in learning. So, students’ have difficulties to retell a concept that they have learned with classified characteristic of plane figure, determine circumference and area of plane figure. The purpose of this research was conducted to know the effect of using Software Geometer Sketchpad V4 toward students’ figure concept comprehension at VII class of SMP Negeri 11 Padangsidimpuan.The theories that used in this research is Bruner Theory about the important of comprehension about the best way for student’s to learning concepts or in mathematics principle was constructed a representation from the concepts itself, and Ausubel theory is about learning meaning concepts.This research is quantitative research with experiment method used Pretest-Posttest Control Group Desain. The population in this research is students at VII Class SMP Negeri 11 Padangsidimpuan that has total class is 3 class, with 70 students. The researcher taken the sample used cluster random sampling techniqueis 43 students. Sample in experiment class that give treated are 23 students and control class that untreated are 23 students. Data processing and data analysis is done with used formula Uji t.Based on normality test and homogeneity test from the both of classes were normally distributed and homogeneous. The Test of t-test is obtained from the result of hypotheses that show Tcount = 3,603 Ttable = 2,015, so Ho was rejected and Ha was be ajjected. It concluded there is a significant effect of software geometer sketchpad V4 toward students’ two dimentional figure comprehension concept at VII Class of SMP NegeriPadangsidimpuan.

Abstract

In general the low learning achievement of students due to the problems that arise in the learning process. Seeing the reality of it is one of the important agenda for the teacher is to create is to create a learning environment in math. The achievement of learning achievement required an appropriate delivery methods that aim can empower students, both in terms of academic and social skills, and in the end students got knowledge, can understand the concepts being taught, and students can solve the problem with an open nature,  so that the porpuse of education can be achieved. Guide of note taking method is the correct method to improve students achievement in math. Guide note of taking method is a method that as fairly simple and fun which are used to aid students in making notes or important points when delivering course material will be provided.

Abstract

Abstract Nowadays, 21st-century learning requires students to develop higher-order thinking skills, one of which is the ability to solve a problem. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of using the Problem Based Instruction model with the help of Cabri 3D Software on students' problem-solving skills. The method used in this research is an experimental method with a quantitative approach. While the design in this study used a pretest-posttest control group design, using an instrument in the form of a test. The target subjects in this study were students of class VIII MTs Muhammadiyah - 8 Siabu. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique used is inferential statistics in the form of a t-test. The results showed that the calculation of the t-test obtained t count = 2,708 and continued by looking at the table based on the sample size of 48 people, (the experimental class consisted of 23 people while the control class consisted of 25 people) at a significant level of 5% found t table = 2,012 then t count (2.708) > t table (2.012), it means that t is in the reception area. So it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of the Problem Based Instruction model with the help of Cabri 3D software on students' problem-solving abilities on the subject of spatial construction. The research implication is that the application of technology is needed to design innovative and credible thinking and student experiences in responding to the challenges of the 21st century, especially in problem-solving skills. Keywords: Cabri 3D Software, Problem-based instruction model, Problem-solving skills. Abstrak Dewasa ini, pembelajaran abad 21 menuntut siswa dalam untuk mengembangkan kemampuan dalam berpikir tingkat tinggi salah satunya seperti kemampuan dalam memecahkan sebuah masalah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan model Problem Based Instruction berbantuan Software Cabri 3D terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sementara desain dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pretest-posttest control group design, dengan menggunakan instrumen berupa tes. Sasaran subyek pada penelitian ini merupakan siswa kelas VIII MTs Muhammadiyah - 8 Siabu. Adapun, teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah statistik inferensial berupa uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perhitungan uji-t yang diperoleh thitung = 2,708 dan dilanjutkan dengan melihat pada tabel berdasarkan jumlah sampel 48 orang, (kelas eksperimen terdiri 23 orang sedangkan kelas kontrol terdiri 25 orang) pada taraf signifikannya 5% ditemukan t tabel = 2,012 maka t hitung (2,708) > t tabel  (2,012), artinya t berada di daerah penerimaan. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan adanya pengaruh signifikan model Problem Based Instruction berbantuan Software Cabri 3D terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa pada pokok bahasan bangun ruang. Implikasi penelitian yakni penerapan teknologi dibutuhkan untuk mendesain pemikiran dan pengalaman siswa yang inovatif dan berkredibel dalam menjawab tantangan abad 21 ini khususnya dalam keterampilan pemecahan masalah.Kata kunci: Keterampilan memecahkan masalah, Model instruksi berbasis masalah, Software Cabri 3D
