Abstract

Inventory forecasting is crucial in effective supply chain management and cost reduction. However, traditional forecasting techniques face significant challenges due to the complexity and variability of demand patterns. This study explores the use of K-means clustering, a data-driven approach that can improve inventory forecasting accuracy. By grouping inventory items based on their unique demand profiles, we can create personalized forecasting models for each cluster. This technique enhances demand estimation, helping businesses make informed decisions and optimize their inventory. Our research delves into the use of K-means clustering to identify patterns and similarities within historical demand data. This clustering process divides inventory items into groups with similar demand characteristics. By applying specific forecasting models to each cluster, we achieve greater precision in our predictions. The proposed methodology is rigorously evaluated using real-world inventory datasets, and the results demonstrate its significant superiority in forecasting accuracy compared to conventional non-clustered methods. This study offers compelling evidence and valuable insights for practitioners seeking to improve their inventory management practices through data-driven techniques.

Abstract

The amount of infrastructure development in Jakarta makes internal control of the implementation of design and build contracts for the construction of state buildings need attention. The problem in internal control is there are still some recurring findings and supervisory findings that are not detected by Government Internal Supervisory Apparatus (APIP) but found by external auditors, as well as delays in completing assignments. The problems include a limited number of technical auditors, uneven knowledge, and experience of construction supervision, overlapping assignments, and a report process that takes time. These problems can have an impact on the implementation of internal control, that is lack of achievement of internal control objectives and the potential for non-compliance with the construction process with laws and regulations, thus showing that internal control of construction is not running effectively and efficiently. To improve efficient and effective internal supervision of construction, it is necessary to standardize operational procedures (SOP) or work procedures for internal control of construction, especially for design and build contracts. This research aims to identify stakeholders and the roles and responsibilities of each party in internal control of building construction using design and build contract to improve efficiency and effectiveness. The results reveal a set of internal and external stakeholders as well as the form of organizational structure and the relationship of coordination and responsibility lines. The results of this research also emphasize the roles and responsibilities of each stakeholder so that each party fully understands the obligation to carry out internal supervision assignments for design and build construction.

Abstract

Dolomite is a natural mineral rock with the chemical formula CaMg(CO3)2. Pure dolomite contains 21.70% calcium and 13.04% magnesium. Dolomite has not been widely used in the industrial sector until now. One way to increase the economic value of dolomite rock is to utilize its magnesium content as a precursor to struvite mineral which is the raw material for slow release fertilizer. Under alkaline conditions, struvite minerals are formed at concentrations of Mg2+, NH4+, and PO43-. Struvite solution (MAP) can be prepared by reacting phosphoric acid, ammonium hydroxide, and dolomite as a magnesium source in a molar ratio of 1:1:1. In a continuously operated isolated column reactor, the pH ranged from 8 to 12, and the reactor inlet air velocity ranged from 0.25 to 1.25 L/min. The chemical elements of dried struvite were determined using XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence), and the morphology was analyzed using SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope). At the same time, the crystal phase composition was identified using the Rietveld XRD (X-Ray Diffraction) technique. Based on the results of XRF analysis, the highest magnesium content was found under operating conditions with pH 12, air rate 0.75 L/min, and magnesium content 15.5%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the physical and chemical characteristics of the soil used for unlicensed gold processing in West Sumbawa Regency. This research was carried out in Kuang Village, Taliwang District, West Sumbawa Regency in September 2023. The criteria for soil sampling location is that the activity of the spindle has been inactive for 5 years, using mercury as a material for gold extraction and is in the home environment. This study was conducted by quantitative descriptive method or direct observation in the field and soil analysis in the Laboratory of soil chemistry and Biology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Mataram. Furthermore, soil sampling was carried out using purposive sampling method or based on purpose with consideration of potential pollution. Based on the results, it can be seen that the physical characteristics of soil including clay with volume weight, specific gravity and porosity are quite dense soil with poor infiltration, while the chemical characteristics of soil include low fertility of both C-organic, CEC, soil pH, N and P soil. The concentration of Hg found in soil ranges from 1.42-15.83 ppm. In this case, mercury contaminated soil needs to be remediated using environmentally friendly materials, cheap and the availability of many in nature. Efforts that can be done is the use of green technology using phytoremediator plants and soil improvement materials, namely biochar. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct further research aimed at reducing the availability and mobility of mercury in the soil
