Abstract

The degree of public health in a country can be reflected in the infant mortality rate. In Indonesia, infant deaths, especially during the neonatal period, are the highest cause of Low Birth Weight (LBW), which also affects the quality of human resources itself and risks a slowdown in the country's economic growth. The study aims to see whether smoking, prenatal coverage, supplementary feeding, childbirth in health facilities, and the risk age of pregnant women <20 and >35 years have a significant heve probability chance of Low Birth Weight (LBW) incidence in Indonesia in 2019-2022. The research data used is secondary data derived from BPS RI and Kemenkes RI reports using logistical regression analysis methods. The results obtained were smoking consumption, prenatal services, and supplementary feeding are non-significant have probability, as well as childbirth in health facilities and pregnancy age of mothers at risk <20 years and >35 years of significant have probability chances against BBLR in 34 Indonesian provinces in 2019-2022.

Abstract

This research explores the social and ecological impacts of hydropower development in the Kerinci Seblat TNKS, an important conservation area in Indonesia. Although hydropower is promoted as a green investment solution for meeting national energy needs, there are conflicts between environmental interests, economic growth, and improving community welfare. Few previous papers have examined and studied in depth the effectiveness of conservation policies involving local wisdom and community welfare in the context of infrastructure development. This paper uses the literature review method and the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) approach to analyze the socio-economic impacts and environmental conflicts related to hydropower development. The search shows that hydropower development has the potential to damage ecosystems and cause social tensions, so an inclusive and adaptive policy approach is needed. This paper indicates that conservation policies that integrate the perspectives of local communities to achieve sustainable development without sacrificing ecosystems and social welfare.

Abstract

Mangrove ecosystem have a complex functions including ecological functions and economic, socio-cultural functions. This ecosystem has unique resources and is vulnerable to habitat degradation. Decreased habitat quality and area area usually occurs due to several factors. These factors can come from natural factors and human activity factors. Natural factors that affect habitat degradation include accretion, abrasion, and sedimentation. Habitat degradation factors that come from human activities include encroachment, illegal logging, coastal development, and the creation of ponds. The mangrove area on the coast of Mendahara District, East Tanjung Jabung Regency was identified as experiencing habitat degradation. The goals of this research are to assess the sustainability of the mangrove ecosystem in the coastal area of Mendahara District, East Tanjung Jabung Regency, and to conduct a leverage analysis on the sustainability of the mangrove ecosystem in the coastal area of Mendahara District, East Tanjung Jabung Regency. Four dimensions—environmental, economic, social, and institutional—are analyzed using the RAPFISH technique. It will be validated using the Monte Carlo approach in order to calculate the stress value and R2 value after it has been evaluated. The leverage analysis method is used to identify key characteristics. According to the analysis of this study, the mangrove ecosystem in the coastal region of Mendahara District, East Tanjung Jabung Regency, is reasonably sustainable in the institutional, ecological, and economic dimensions, but less so in the social dimension. The leverage analysis of 36 attributes revealed 7 sensitive attributes that have an impact on the sustainability of the mangrove ecosystem in the coastal region of Mendahara District, East Tanjung Jabung Regency. The seven sensitive features that were found are the diversity of fauna, changes in coastlines, the availability of government funds, government help, community management of mangroves, social conflict, and law enforcement.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of digitalization capability, entrepreneurial spirit, andgovernment support on the success of small and micro enterprises in Jambi City, focusing onthe Sahabat Sehati UKM community. The main issues faced by MSEs in this communityinclude low digital literacy, a lack of strong entrepreneurial spirit, and suboptimal governmentsupport in sustaining business development. This research uses a quantitative approach withdata collected through questionnaires distributed to 150 MSEs actors in the culinary, fashion, and service sectors. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling based on PartialLeast Square with the Smart PLS 3.0 application. The results show that digitalization capabilityhas a negative and insignificant effect on MSEs success, while entrepreneurial spirit andgovernment support have a positive and significant effect. Moreover, government supportstrengthens the relationship between digitalization capability and MSEs success but does notstrengthen the relationship between entrepreneurial spirit and UKM success. These findingshighlight the importance of more structured digital empowerment programs and moresustainable government support in MSEs development. Abstract

This study analyzes tourism event development strategies for strengthening the local economy in Kuala Jambi Subdistrict, Tanjung Jabung Timur Regency. Employing a qualitative approach with primary data (FGDs involving researchers, Jambi University academics, Regional Development Planning Agency, Youth-Sports-Culture-Tourism Office, Regional Secretariat’s Economic and Development Division, Research and Development Agency, Cooperative Office, Trade and Industry Office; in-depth interviews with Tourism/Culture/Trade Division Heads) and secondary data (Regional Tourism Development Plan, strategic documents, annual reports from Tourism and Trade/Industry/Cooperative Offices), fieldwork was conducted from July to September 2024. Findings reveal three flagship annual events: Bedak Sejuk Duano Festival (showcasing Duano ethnic cosmetics traditions), Kampung Laut Festival (highlighting mangrove crab harvesting), and Anak Pesisir Festival (coastal children’s cultural games), alongside the national-scale Kenduri Swarnabhumi event (2022) which significantly boosted MSME revenues. SWOT analysis identified core strengths in cultural uniqueness (score 3.875/4) and institutionalized community participation (with government grant support), but critical weaknesses included inadequate infrastructure, limited human capital, and ineffective promotion (score 2.625). Key opportunities centered on digitalization and private partnerships (score 3.25), while primary threats involved destination competition and climate vulnerability (score 3.63). Priority strategies derived from the SWOT matrix: 1)Leveraging cultural assets for ecotourism-based product diversification and digital promotion; 2)Addressing weaknesses through capacity-building training, infrastructure upgrades, and homestay development (9 registered units); 3)Penta-helix collaboration (government-community-private sector-academia-media) for event sustainability. Critical policy recommendations include: establishing a Tourism Collaborative Forum, institutionalizing technical mentorship with sustained grant allocation, integrating infrastructure into the Regional Medium-Term Development Plan, and fostering MSME-private partnerships for product certification.
