Abstract

Abstract

Because it is considered as a product of androcentric culture that can bring up misogynists, some feminist Christian theologians reject the hegemony of the use of the word "Father" as a calling for God. They considered that Mother was also worthy, even should be prioritized, to call God. Unfortunately this proposal seems to have been born from a less positive interpretation of the word Father in the Bible. Through this article, I prove that the title Father for God in the Gospel of Matthew does not contain the misogynistic nuances. On the contrary, through comparative studies, the construction of the proper theology of Matthew's gospel and feminist theology is actually based on the same socio-religious background that is fighting against proper theology which proclaims a transcendent and hierarchical portrait of God. Both emphasize an immanent God. With this similarity, God as Mother should not be the antithesis of God as Father, but both are complementary.

Abstract

Many scholars are reluctant to recognize the theological commonality among the wisdom literature. However, the concept retribution may connect the texts since it becomes their common question. Yet, their perspectives on retributive theology are diverse; in fact, they seem contradictory. This leads to the research question that I wish to address, i.e., how to understand the tension between these writing when they speak about the retribution. this essay will examine the concept of retribution in the OT, comprehend its meaning in the wisdom traditions, and compare it to other OT traditions.

Abstract

In general, the idea of an almighty, exalted, great, and infinite is attribute used to explain the name of God, and receives important attention in Christian theology. But it has a problem when the idea of an omnipotent God is related to God's suffering, specifically confronted with classical Christian theology which accepts God's omnipotence in absolute terms with the idea of Divine Impassibility, an understanding that recognizes that God cannot suffer. Therefore, this paper is the result of a study of the problems that arise from the two ideas, using descriptive qualitative methods. Through research conducted found a solution to connect both of these ideas, with a Practical-Christological approach, to see the suffering of God from the viewpoint of the cross. Then the results of the study conducted proposed the idea of Divine Passibility, that God can suffer as a form of love for humans. Thus, the idea of God's power and suffering is not a contradiction, but the two are interconnected.

The Lord’s Supper is a rite in the church. That rite is a remembering action of Jesus' incarnation, from His birth to His death and His resurrection. Usually, the Lord's Supper takes place and time in worship in the church. But during the Covid-19 pendemic the church was faced with the dilemma of carrying out the rite of the Lord’s Supper. So, this paper would like to explore and give an understanding of the alternatives to the implementation of the Lord's Supper when facing Covid-19 pendemi as it is today.
