Abstract

Intellectual disabilities were people who have a level of intelligence so low (below normal) that they needed help in carrying out activities. People with intellectual disabilities can strike sexual violence because of the stigma about disabilities are a-sexual creatures, especially intellectual disabilities. Therefore, the community restricted access to health information, especially sexual matters. Besides that, there were several obstacles in conveying health information to people with intellectual disabilities due to the limitations of mental retardation understanding the contents. This is also supported by the lack of media that is used to deliver material to intellectual disabilities people. The purpose of this research is to produce a puzzle that can protect people with intellectual disabilities from sexual violence. Research and development with a qualitative approach. Using interview, document study and observation methods. The research subjects consisted of eleven people consisting of six teachers of SLB-C TPA Jember, one Headmaster of SLB-C TPA Jember, three psychologists of Garwita Institute and one media expert. Data collection tools are interview guides, observation guides, handphones and stationery. The knowledge about sexual violence and puberty of most informants was still lacking. The informants agreed that girls with intellectual disabilities have a problem with their puberty period and sexual violence. The teachers always give education about puberty and how to protect themselves from sexual violence. The informants also agreed that girls with intellectual disabilities need a puzzle that has message education about puberty and sexual violence.

Abstract

Stunting is the impaired growth and development resulting from poor nutrition, repeated infection, and inadequate psychosocial stimulation. Children are defined as stunted if their height-for-age is more than two standard deviations below the WHO Child Growth Standards median. Purwomartani is a village with the highest prevalence of stunting in Kalasan (27.66%), Sleman, Special Region Yogyakarta. The aim of the study was to determine factors that are associated with the incidence of stunting in Purwomartani. Â Observational analytic research was conducted with a case-control design. Data was taken from the Nutrition Monitoring data of Kalasan primary health centre in 2018. Cases were children aged 6-24 months who experienced stunting (n=37). Control was children aged 6-24 months who are not stunted (n=37). Three respondents were excluded from each group.  A total of 68 data was analyzed. The results of the study showed that the majority of those who are stunted are in the age groups 13-24 months and the gender was female. Variables related to the incidence of stunting were father's education (OR = 3.429; CI = 1,176-9,994), maternal education (OR = 3,519; CI = 1,270-9,750), birth weight (OR = 5,250; CI = 1,509-18,268) and breastfeeding history (OR = 3.378; CI = 1,246-9,157). Variables that were not related to the incidence of stunting are family income (OR = 1,486; CI = 0,540-4,084), maternal age (OR = 1,170; CI = 0,390-3,512) and birth interval (OR = 2.2750.799-6.476). Â Factors related to stunting were father's education, mother's education, birth weight and history of breastfeeding.

Abstract

The Special Province of Yogyakarta tended to be high at 21.2% for the proportion of the population aged over or equal to 10 years who smoked every day. One of the districts in the Yogyakarta Special Region that has a policy on non-smoking areas is Bantul Regency. The regulation regarding the non-smoking areas is regulated in the Bantul Regent's Regulation No. 18 of 2016 concerning Healthy Areas Non-Smoking (HANS). This study aims to determine the structure of the bureaucracy and disposition in the implementation of a Healthy Smoke-Free Area in Schools. This research uses the descriptive qualitative method. Data analysis using data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions.  The results of interviews about the bureaucratic structure in the implementation of the HANS found that there were no smoking procedures for smokers in schools. General rules are included in the school code of conduct in the form of a slogan/smoking ban. The disposition aspect possessed by the school could not be said to be good in the implementation of the HANS, it was evident that there were still school residents who still smoked in the school area and found cigarettes put in the school area. The conclusion of the research is that the bureaucratic structure does not yet exist and the disposition factor cannot be carried out properly so that it is expected that there will be a follow-up from the Government of Bantul Regency to be able to socialize Bantul Regent Regulation No. 18 of 2016 concerning Smoke-Free Healthy Areas in the school environment involving the role of the Health Office, BNNP and/or the Police and develop a culture of reporting and providing guarantees for reporters, as well as making special regulations for school residents who have a smoking habit.

Abstract

The social and emotional development of young children is affected by many stimulating factors, and one of those factors is early childhood education. However, not all pre-school children have the opportunity to attend early childhood education. This study was aimed at comparing children social and emotional development of those who attend and do not attend early childhood education. This comparative study was carried out using a cross-sectional approach among 72 participants divided into 2 groups: 36 participants who attend early childhood education and 36 participants who do not attend early childhood education. Accidental sampling technique was applied to select samples, Non-parametric statistical test employed was the Mann Whitney test. The comparison value of children attending and not attending early childhood education was P-value 0.000; the emotional comparison value was P-value 0.040. It means there were differences in social and emotional development between children who attend early childhood education and those who do not attend early childhood education. It can be concluded that early childhood education can help stimulate the development of children. Parents should pay more attention to their children social and emotional development, whereas if parents cannot be the medium to support children’s social and emotional development, they should engage their children in early childhood education.

Abstract

Personal hygiene is one's effort to maintain cleanliness and health to obtain physical and psychological well-being. As many as 50% of students in Islamic boarding schools experience diseases related to personal hygiene including scabies and pediculosis capitis. Poskestren is a manifestation of community-based health efforts within the boarding school environment, with principles from, by and for pesantren residents, which prioritizes promotive and preventive services without neglecting the curative and rehabilitative arrangements with the development of local puskesmas. Thus the poskestren is one of the references in health development in Islamic boarding schools which should be able to overcome health problems. However, with the presence of the boarding school health post, diseases related to personal hygiene in Islamic Boarding School X, Bantul Regency have yet to be completely resolved. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between students' perceptions of the role of the boarding school health post with the personal hygiene of students in Islamic Boarding School X, Bantul Regency. This study uses an observational analytic method with a cross-sectional approach. The population of this study were all 56 students living in Islamic Boarding Schools X and the sampling technique used was total sampling. Respondents who met the criteria totalled 51 people. Data were analyzed by the Chi-square test. Statistical test results show that there was a relationship between promotive efforts with the application of students personal hygiene (ρ = 0,000) and there is no relationship between preventive efforts (ρ = 1,000), curative (ρ = 1,000), and rehabilitative (0.840) with the application of santri personal hygiene. There was a relationship between perception about the role of poskestren promotive efforts with the implementation of personal hygiene of students and there was no relationship between perception of the role of health post boarding school with the application of personal hygiene of students in Boarding school  X, Bantul Regency
