Abstract

Algae is rich in storage lipids and fats that can be converted into biodiesel. This study determined the algal oil from Lake Sebu, South Cotabato as biodiesel source. Samples were prepared at varying treatments and ratio with n-Hexane. The algal oil was extracted and efficiency % were determined. FFA% and Acid Number of the oil extract were identified using chemical titration. FTIR was used for Chemical characterization while GC-MS identified fatty acid and other organics. With the constant volume of solvent and by changing the mass of dried algae, the percent yield of oil increases as the solvent to algae ratio increases. Therefore, biomass ratio with n-Hexane should be 1:3. The IR spectra of the oil extract indicated the presence of functional groups such as amine and carbonyl group of amides, methylene, methyl, and alkene. While, GC-MS showed that the fatty acids found can be a potential biodiesel.

Abstract

Current studies in operating systems focuses on either security or on reliability. However, current or modern OS platforms call for answers that match both styles of requirements. If we build not only best applications but also middleware and OS in a similar way, we can construct systems that not only are inherently stable however also can resist attacks from malicious programs and face up to errors. In this paper, we conduct an exploratory study on Modern OS reliability and security. We examine many real OS failure facts collected from distinct administrative and real time environments and present the results which show a number of the primary reasons of OS failures.

Abstract

The increase in industrial waste, especially those containing Pb and Cd, which is discharged into the environment results in more polluted environment conditions. Polluted enviornment is very dangerous for the survival of living things. This technique use living things to reduce environmental pollution, making it safe for living things. Bioremediation can be carried out by in-situ and ex-situ methods with several bioremediation mechanisms, including biosorption, bioaccumulation, bioleaching, and bioprecipitation. The use ex-situ techniques in bioremediation is easier to do, especially if it is carried out to remediate soils under controlled conditions in the laboratory.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the characteristics of the MoM inflation rate in cities in Indonesia. In addition, it also compares the distribution of the monthly inflation rate for the 2009–2014 period with the 2014-2019 period in cities in Indonesia. The method used to identify the characteristics of the MoM inflation rate is by using summary of statistics, while to compare the distribution of the monthly inflation rate for the 2009–2014 period and the 2014–2019 period, the two-sample Kolmogorov-Smirnov test is used. Characteristics of the month to month (MoM) inflation rate in cities in Indonesia for the period October 2009 to March 2019 was presented. Furthermore, the comparison of the characteristics of the MoM inflation rate from October 2009 to September 2014 (period 1) and the period from October 2014 to March 2019 (period 2) was also shown. The cities of Banda Aceh, Kendari, Yogyakarta, Jakarta and Sorong had an average characteristic of inflation each month which tended to be low in February, March, April and September.Six cities had significantly different characteristics during period 2 inflation rate compared to period 1.

Abstract

Human body temperature is a very important parameter in monitoring health conditions. The differences in temperature can occur due to routine or the occurrence of health problems. Furthermore, many diseases are related to human body temperature and require monitoring. This study proposes the development of health technology for a wireless body temperature monitoring system. The results of the test show that the prototype system has succeeded in sending measurement data to the computer and Android systems. The calibration results also show conformity with standard measuring instruments.
