Abstract

The Indonesian Librarian Association (IPI) Organization of Riau Province is one of the organizations that support the quality of human resources in the librarian profession, with the existence of a professional librarians organization can help librarians in improving library management to the maximum. This study aims to determine how the Role of the Indonesian Librarian Association (IPI) of Riau Province in Developing the Quality of Librarian Human Resources. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research method. This research was conducted by interviewing the management and members of the Riau Province Indonesian Librarian Association (IPI) based on three indicators, namely (1) Scientific Activities, (2) Education and Training, and (3) Riau Smart Program. The results of the interviews show that of the three work program indicators, the Indonesian Librarian Association (IPI) of Riau Province has not carried out its activities properly. In the Scientific Activity Indicator, IPI of Riau Province has conducted 5 activities that lead to the development of librarians' human resources. In the Education and Training Indicator, IPI of Riau Province has conducted 1 activity that leads to the development of librarian's human resources. In the Riau Smart Program Indicator, the Provincial IPI has carried out 1 activity that leads to the development of library human resources. So it can be concluded that the role of the Indonesian Librarian Association (IPI) of Riau Province in Developing the Quality of Librarian's Human Resources has not been carried out to the maximum.Keywords: Role, Librarian, Quality, Human Resources, Indonesian Librarian Association (IPI) of Riau Province.

Abstract

A Library is an institution in the field of information provider services oriented to the needs of users. Five library laws put forward by S.R. Ranganathan (books are for use, every reader his book, every book its reader, save the time of the reader and the staff, library is a growing organism) has become one of the references in library collections development that are oriented to user needs. Implementation of five library laws according to Ranganathan are (1) Library collections must be regularly evaluated. The results of this evaluation can then be used as a reference in weeding activities. It is intended that each book can be used optimally. (2) A series of procurement procurement proseas that include user analysis, selection, selection, and procurement policies must be oriented to user needs. It aims to make every information that users need available in the library. (3) Accuracy in the processing and display management becomes important in information retrieval. It is intended that every book in the library can be accessed. (4) Libraries must provide easy access to users to get information as effectively and efficiently as possible. This is so that users do not waste time looking for collections in the library. (5) Libraries must adapt to the changing environment that is always developing. The development and fulfillment of a stable source of information aims to keep all parts of the library current and reliable.Keywords: S.R. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out how the information age community understands digital public space and how the role of the University of Lampung's digital library in creating virtual public spaces. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. This research builds on the critical theory of public space proposed by Jurgen Habermas and Henry Lefebvre. Data collection through literature study and interviews. Data analysis includes three stages namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion or verification. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the public space in the information society is interpreted as a space where there is an infinite process of interaction. The role of the University of Lampung's digital library in creating public spaces includes (1) Providing freedom of access to systems and content, (2) giving freedom of expression to users through communication facilities between users and managers (3) Providing equality for anyone to access and utilize digital library applications The University of Lampung (4) has a legal umbrella in managing digital libraries (5) has a shared commitment to turn the University of Lampung's digital library into an ideal public space. Keywords: Digital Library, Public Spaces, Information Society.

Abstract

In terms of information and collection dissemination in order to realize the service for users, tailor service-a service to work on a patchwork of any lack of information necessity by library users-can be used to fulfill the need. In reality, no matter how big or how many amount of collection a library, it is still unable to fulfill the need of their users for their necessity diversity of information. Hence, mutual sharing and cooperation in a library network will help and complete each other for any lack of information or collection in one of library within the network. The collection capacity will be able to support the success of University Tri Dharma especially in order to elevate each study program of every faculty or in every department of the university. The library last paradigm is service, whether the library has successfully providing the necessity service or not is uncertain if the pressure point and its collection capacity are veiled. Therefore, it is important to plot and evaluate collection capacity for the sharing purpose. This knowledge of the library collection capacity will also help to prepare for further cooperation with another library which has collection capacity too. However, the question is whether the library of Sunan Kalijaga Islamic State University has known its collection capacity? Abstract

The library is one of the places frequented by visitors with the aim of learning, reading, doing research, communicating and building relationships with others. Visitors who was came to the library come from a variety background. Ranging from children to the elderly, even from various regions and countries, and visitors with special needs or disabilities. Therefore, the function of the library as a learning tool must be able to serve various kinds of visitors so that it can be used as much as possible. To be able to serve a variety of visitor populations, especially for disabilities, adequate design is required. Like its design, its services, existing facilities, and library collections must be able to accommodate all visitors. Several studies have conducted to evaluate disability-friendly libraries. So that, this literature review journal conducted to collect and discuss previous research related to library evaluations in various disability-friendly places. In addition, researchers will also make a comparison of several library designs to its weaknesses and strengths they have to accommodate all visitor populations, especially for disabilities.Keywords: library, disability, service, facility

Abstract

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) has been declared as a pandemic. It impacts all sectors including the education field from the elementary to higher education level. The university students have to follow the academic activity online which of course needs information in the process. Therefore, the college library would have to keep performing its services. The services will also apply the standard health protocol and practice the social distancing appeal. Many innovations are conducted so the librarian should be flexible as to follow. Some of them may experience the effect such as becoming uncomfortable, feeling afraid and anxious, or even overstressed. Those would lead to the decreased performance. The aim of this research is to understand how to overcome the effect covid-19 pandemic condition to library service in the university library. Hence, this will help to solve the anxiety issue of the librarians. This research used library research methodology where the supporting data are achieved by understanding the environment and carefully look at the current situation. The result shows that the librarian stress is caused by their own self-perception. Therefore, it is necessary to manage self-control to avoid any difficulties in the future. In this case, the solution from Bill using long and short term methodology can be applied to overcome the work stress.Keywords: work stress, librarian, covid-19, library service
