Abstract

Interaction between cultures can basically be translated into various cultural policies that emphasise the reality of religion, plurality, and other cultures in society. Interaction of various cultures does not mean that people are forced to accept something new that does not exist in the context of their lives. However, the interaction process is expected to give birth to awareness of the two different groups to provide space for mutual understanding without radical (read: violent) rejection. The research uses a qualitative method - an exploration of scientific journals and online media that discuss Jogja Hip-Hop Foundation with a scientific approach to intercultural communication. The aim is to identify in depth how Jogja HipHop Foundation can bring acculturation values between Javanese and American cultures, and examine the interaction between Javanese and American cultures through the Hip-Hop music tradition represented by Jogja HipHop Foundation. The result is that the use of Javanese language by JHF aims to instil the principle of respect and the American cultural model, which is known to be identical with the worldly, is able to combine with the distinctive Javanese culture, and can be enjoyed by young people.

Abstract

Many methods have been developed by commentators in interpreting the Quran, resulting in diverse methods of interpreting the Quran. One of them is Dr. Halo-N, who created the concept of Quran interpretation in his book Al-Fathun Nawa. This research aims to examine the method of interpretation in the book Al-Fathun Nawa authored by Dr. Halo-N. The research uses a qualitative-descriptive method, while the type of research used is a study of figures. The results of the research show that Dr. Halo-N's method of interpretation is based on the concept of the Quran interpreting the Quran. It is a method and concept of interpreting and translating the verses of the Quran that he believes can explain the meaning of the verses and their logic without including other evidence and sources to avoid doubt. Meanwhile, the characteristic of his interpretation is scientific, as Dr. Halo-N discovered theories through correlation points he referred to as the 2D HMBC spectrum. The characteristic of Dr. Halo-N's interpretation is that the book Al-Fathun Nawa is a work that combines aspects of religion and science.

Abstract

This study discusses the relationship between ulama and umara' in the 17th century, namely sheikh Nuruddin Ar Raniry and Sultan Iskandar Tsani. This study was compiled using historical research methods with library sources in the form of books, research reports, articles and journals related to this research. The results of this study are: first, conceptually theologically, ulama and umara' are not separate. Ideally, umara has the characteristics of a clergyman. Second, the relation of ulama and umara' in the case of Sultan Iskandar Tsani and Syekh Nuruddin Ar Raniri is an integralistic-symbiotic relationship so that it has implications for strengthening da'wah and society.
