Abstract

The communication model is a simple description of the communication process that occurs both individually and in groups. The use of this communication model is considered effective in the success of communication because the message delivered can be received by the target. In this case, what happened at Pacet 1 Public High School implementing virtual learning by utilizing the media as an intermediary, this communication model also has obstacles that occur when communicating between teachers and students such as broken sounds, missing pictures, and so on. This study aims to determine the teacher and student communication model in improving non-academic achievement through virtual learning. This study used the Shannon and Weaver communication model theory. The informants here are the headmaster of SMA Negeri 1 Pacet, the supervising teacher for the competition, and several students. Data is collected by observation, interviews, and documentation. Data validity was carried out using triangulation techniques. The results of this study indicate that in the Shannon and Weaver communication model, communication requires Information Resources (SDI) which then forms messages to be communicated through intermediaries such as smartphones using internet channels. but in the process of communication, the virtual is not free from interference (noise). And the authors see that the communication process used by teachers and students at SMA Negeri 1 Pacet is quite effective and efficient so that it can hone children's creativity.

Abstract

Communication is a necessity for every individual. Communication between men and women can form a gender identity. Especially in Indonesia with a patriarchal culture, gender is still deeply rooted in society. This gender creates various differences between men and women, one of which is in communication. In order not to form gender stereotypes, these communication differences need to be understood by each individual, both men, and women. The difference in communication between men and women also needs to be understood by counselors so that the counseling process can run effectively. Therefore, we try to explore how gender bias in communication is viewed from the perspective of guidance and counseling. This research was conducted using a descriptive design with a qualitative approach. Data was collected through a systematic literature study, a questionnaire method conducted via an online form to the general public, as well as semi-structured interviews with students and guidance and counseling teachers at the UPI Pilot Laboratory High School. The results of data analysis show that the ability to communicate in men and women tends to be proficient, both in the private and public spheres. Most of them are also considered capable and open in communicating both with the same sex and with the opposite sex. Efforts made by guidance and counseling counselors/teachers to be able to improve student's communication skills, namely through classical guidance services and individual services.
