Abstract

The problem in this study originated from observations the authors met in the field, it can be seen that the Solok Regency wrestlers always fail in the opportunity to perform the slamming technique against their opponents. This is thought to be due to weak leg muscle strength. This type of research is correlational. To obtain data on leg muscle strength, the leg dynamometer test and the ability to throw a kayak were used with a dummy doll. The data obtained were analyzed by simple product moment correlation. Based on the data analysis, it was found that there was a significant relationship between leg muscle strength and the ability to throw a ball at the wrestling athlete in Solok Regency, where rcount (0.93) rtab (0.468) at a significant level (0.05). Leg muscle strength can determine the success of the throwing technique in wrestling.

The hypothesis of this research are: 1) There is the effect of massed practice exercises on free shots. 2) There is a distributed practice effect of exercise on free shots. 3) There are differences in the effect of massed practice exercises and distributed free practice of firing the son of a junior basketball club athletes Warrior Club Kepahiang District. The population in this research is the son of club basketball athletes Warrior Club Kepahiang District totaling 70 people, because according to the needs of this research, the junior son of an active athlete exercises, the samples used were 20 people with a purposive sampling technique sampling. After the pre test all the samples were divided into two groups by the total ordinaly pairing techniques. Both groups consisted of massed practice group practice and distributed practice. Each group consisted of 10 persons. The experiment consisted of 18 sessions, a week exercise conducted as many as four times. The duration of the exercises in each season is 90 minutes. The test results of pre-post test which was recorded is the result of free shots in after 10 shot attempts. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that: 1) There is significant effect of massed practice exercises on free shots which average 4.10 (pre test) to 5.40 at post test, where t = 3.88 ttable = 2.26. 2) There were no significant effects of distributed practice on free shots an average of 4.20 (pretest) to 4.40 at post test, where t = 0.80 ttable = 2.26. Thus, the first and the third hypothesis received while the second hypothesis is rejected.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between limb muscle explosive power and blocking skills in volleyball athletes in Dehasen Bengkulu. This research is a quantitative correlational study using a correlation test which aims to determine the relationship between the independent variable and the dependent variable. The population in this study were all Dehasen Bengkulu volleyball athletes, totaling 35 people. The sample used is as many as 19 people. The correlation coefficient of leg muscle explosive power on volleyball athletes' blocking skills of 0.9239 is positive, meaning that the greater the score obtained, the stronger the relationship between the two variables. The significance test of the correlation coefficient was carried out by means of the value of rcount with rtable at = 5% with N=19 obtained rtable of 0.456. Because the correlation coefficient between rx.y = 0.9239 r(0.5)(19) = 0.456, it means that the relationship between limb muscle explosive power and blocking skills is significant.
