Abstract

ABSTRACT Pictorial health warnings must be included in the packaging of tobacco products. It has been regulated by Health Minister of Republic Indonesia number 28 of 2013 about Inclusion of Pictorial Health Warnings and Health Information on Tobacco Product Packaging since June 24, 2014. The purpose of this study was to look an overview opinions regarding pictorial health warnings to Banyuwangi shop owners, shopkeepers and community. A cross-sectional study was conducted using secondary data from the policy evaluation survey, ban on outdoor cigarette advertising in Banyuwangi. The respondent was interviewed about the opinion consisted of 114 shop owners and shopkeepers who displayed cigarette advertisements and 131 community randomly selected. The results showed 86.9% of shop owners, 85.7% of shopkeepers and 87.8% of community agreed or strongly agreed with the pictorial health warnings and if the picture was enlarged, as many as 67.7% of shop owners, 61.9% of shopkeepers and 72.5% of community agreed or strongly agreed. 56.9% of shop owners and 28.6% of shopkeepers, and 40.5% community stated the pictorial health warnings didn’t make them not smoke. In addition, as many as 45.2% of shop owners and 42.9% of shopkeepers and 52.7% of community agreed or strongly agreed that cigarette packs were not displayed in stalls. 87,3% respondent agree that pictures of health warnings on cigarette packs but only 69,8% agree if the picture is enlarged. The picture is not enough to prevent people from smoking. Nearly half of the respondent agreed to ban the display of cigarette packs in stalls.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Rehabilitation for people with mental disorders (PMD) plays an important role in helping the healing process. Given the limited number of mental institutions, Islamic boarding schools participate in assisting in the handling of PMD. This study aims to: (i) Identify the religious activities conducted by Islamic boarding schools in the rehabilitation of PMD, (ii) Identify the benefits of spiritual therapy and religious activities in assisting the recovery of PMD. This is a mixed-method research conducted in three boarding schools that provide rehabilitation of the PMD in Yogyakarta, namely Nurul Haromain, Al Islamy and Tetirah Dzikir in February-March 2017. Data from 84 randomly selected respondents with mental disorders were collected using Daily Spiritual Experience Scale (DSES) and PSP (Personal and Social Performance) questionnaires to see the relationship between the spiritual level with changes in personal and social functions in PMD and analyzed using spearman rank correlation test. Qualitative data is conducted by Focus Group Discussion. Results show that there was a relationship between the spiritual level and changes in the personal and social functions of the PMD (p = 0.008; r = 0.286). In addition, most of the religious activities obtained by PMD were praying, reciting the Quran and dhikr. The perceived benefits of religious activities for the PMD were feeling healed from mental illness and the heart becomes more calm. Spiritual therapy in the form of religious activities has an important role for PMD in assisting healing and providing hopes. Activities and living in Islamic boarding schools may enhance PMD’s confidence and social function.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Prevalence of depression remains high worldwide and leads to high mortality and suicidal rate. In Indonesia, depression is still a serious problem and its prevalence is increasing every year. The incidence of depression in students varies by university. This study aims to describe the dep ression rate in students of Public Health Study Program at Universitas Airlangga Banyuwangi. This study uses a cross-sectional study design with descriptive studies. The respondents was 68 students of Public Health Study Program of Universitas Airlangga Banyuwangi, aged 17-21 years. Data is analyzed univariably. The results showed that of 68 respondents there were 57.4% of respondents who were depressed. Of the number of respondents who were depressed, 59% were in the young age category and 87.2% were female. Whereas if viewed based on the semester taken by respondents at the time of the study, the majority of respondents were in semester 2 that is equal to 41%, and most respondents had a GPA not cumlaude with a number of 59%. The conclusion of this study is depression prevalence rate of students of the Banyuwangi Public Health Study Program is higher than those who are not depressed. Better diagnosis and treatment of depressed students can help reduce suicide rates in adolescents

Abstract

ABSTRACT WHO has identified hypertension as a major cause of cardiovascular death in the world. Factors that increase risk includes age, being overweight, smoking, and alcohol use. Purpose: this study aims to analyze the relationship between Body Mass Index (BMI), age, and smoking habits with the incidence of hypertension in KUB Pondok Layar fishermen. Methods: This study was analytical with a cross sectional design in January 2019, the population was all members of the Pondok Layar KUB fishermen of 90 peoples. Total samples of this study are 49 respondents with Simple Random Sampling technique. Data were analyzed by Chi Square test. Results: The incidence of hypertension in Pondok Layar KUB fishermen based on blood pressure measurements was 24.5%, which is 18.4% at type 1 and 6.1% at type 2. The majority of fishermen had started smoking before the age of 18 th (62.5%), had been smoking for more than 15 years at 77.5%, and consumed more than 12 cigarettes in a day is 45%. Age variables (CI=95%; P=0.024; OR=0.141) and BMI (CI=95%; P=0.008; OR=0.170) had a significant relationship to the incidence of hypertension in KUB Pondok Layar fishermen. Smoking habits variable (CI=95%; P=0.383), age of starting smoking (CI=95%; P=0.546), smoking time (CI=95%; P=0.209) and number of ciga rettes smoked per day (CI=95%; P=0.118) did not have a significant relationship to the incidence of hypertension in KUB Pondok Layar fishermen. Conclution: There is a significant relationship between age and BMI on the incidence of hypertension in KUB Pond ok Layar fishermen. It is recommended that fishermen need to regularly control their blood pressure and weight so that hypertension can be prevented early

Abstract

ABSTRACT Happiness is something very desirable for every human being. They tend to want a quiet, comfortable life and make them feel safe. This study aims to determine the level of happiness of public health faculty students at Airlangga University PSDKU Banyuwangi. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach with the type of survey research. The sample in this study were 43 students of the Faculty of Public Health. The sampling technique in this study using simple random sampling technique. The instrument in data collection uses a happiness level scale that is modified from the Subjective Happiness Scale and Satisfaction with Life Scale. Statistical analysis techniques use non parametric. The results of the study showed that happiness in the Faculty of Public Health students was in the moderate category
