Abstract

The need for air cooling is currently considered important, especially for cooling meeting rooms and auditoriums. Thus the cool and comfortable air conditions can be presented. This research was conducted to determine the air cooling load in the Ivet University Auditorium. The method used is to calculate the amount of heat that comes from outdoors and indoors. The amount of heat from the room is the heat from the sun's heat that propagates through walls, roofs, glass windows and doors. The heat that comes from inside the room is sourced from humans as occupants, lights, and other electronic equipment. From the results of data analysis it can be determined that the cooling load of Ivet University Auditorium is 11,1100 Watts or equivalent to 379073 Btu / hr. The total AC power needed to cool the room is 42 PK.

Abstract

Reliquefaction plant is a machine system that have function to maintain pressure in the cargo tank. And has an important role in the process of cargo handling to keep cargo in a liquid state. The problems that occur in the reliquefaction plant will result in a decline in the performance of the cargo handling process which will result in hampered vessel operational activities. The observation was carried out at LPG / C GAS WALIO which is a ship owned by PT. PERTAMINA. The source of the data obtained by the author is obtained by direct observation at the research site and direct interviews with gas engineers and engineers at the research site. In addition, data sources are also obtained from manual books on the ship. The results of the study stated that the decline in cargo handling performance in the gas reactivity process was caused by several factors including: less than the maximum compression of the cargo compressor, lack of the amount of sea water circulated into the system and the lack of vacuum in the cargo condensor. These things result in not achieving the ideal temperature on the chargo and the process of reliquefaction takes a long time.

Abstract

The need for electrical energy in Indonesia is increasing every year so other alternative energy sources need to be found. Waste is a major problem for residents of many cities, along with the rate of population growth which has an impact on the increasing amount of waste generated. To explore the potential of new renewable energy, namely the construction of a Waste Power Plant (PLTSa). Potential of waste energy in Jatibarang Landfill sourced from 16 sub-districts of Semarang City Region has a large amount of waste production, so that in this study research needs to be done on the use of waste as an alternative energy source to be utilized as Renewable Energy (EBT) to be managed into electrical energy that is useful for the community. From this study the electrical energy that can be utilized for PLTSa in 1 year for the next 5 years (2017 - 2021) is 84,627.02 Mwh / year in 2017, then 82,308.43 Mwh / year in 2018, after that 83,627.97 Mwh / year in 2019, then 83,179.35 Mwh / year in 2020, and finally 83,434.88 in 2021. The average output power of generators is 9,525.63 kW as potential electrical energy from waste waste.

Abstract

Pronunciation can be an important aspect of learning to speak. When the pronunciation is wrong, it may interfere with the listener's understanding of the message. The students also experienced some difficulties in pronouncing some words, especially in vowels and consonants. The purpose of this study was to determine the pronunciation errors of seafaring students of Polytechnic Bumi Akpelni Semarang, and to find out the most dominant error. The author classifies pronunciation errors into four categories based on Dulay, Burt & Karshen's theory. This study uses qualitative research, and content analysis as a method of analyzing and interpreting data from speaking transcripts of KPN Polytechnic Bumi Akpelni Semarang students. There were 16 students who were the research subjects. The author analyzes the pronunciation of students' mistakes from their transcript of their speech. The results of this study are, there are 46 data consisting of 28 (60%) misformation, 12 (26.1%) additional, 6 (13%) negligence and 0 (0%) misordering. The most dominant error is misformation error and there is no misordering error in this study. In fact, students sometimes pronounce English words correctly spontaneously, even though they don't know how to pronounce correctly and only use their feelings.

Abstract

The air condition in residential or office buildings needs to be sought so that the conditions are fresh and comfortable for the residents. Indonesia with a tropical climate has hot temperatures and high humidity levels. For this reason, the application of air conditioning systems is needed. The study was conducted by survey to record the size of the house, the area of ventilation, the number and size of air conditioners used, the temperature of the use of air conditioners, and the monthly electricity bill. Data is processed to obtain specific data on the adequacy of ventilation, the level of ACusage, the temperature of AC usage, and the level of AC electricity usage. The results of this study are that 77% of residential houses have ventilation areas that meet minimum requirements. Houses that use AC as much as 60%. Almost all air conditioners are used in sleeping rooms. AC users mostly choose cool comfortable temperatures, which is 55%. As for whochose the temperature of the use of air conditioners in optimal comfortable conditions by 35%. While those who choose warm temperatures to comfort in the use of AC as much as 10%. The average electricity bill due to the use of AC is 34% of the total residential electricity bill.

Abstract

The invasion of new species, even new diseases, in an environment can threat existing species and environmental balance. As the COVID 19 pandemic, that the virus spreads so fast, through physical contact. As to the spread of COVID 19, the movement of marine biota that enters and exits along with ballast water used by ships has long been regulated in a convention of IMO. In the regulation it is clear that the deadline for ships to have ballast water treatment is September 2017, but after 3 years have passed, have these rules been implemented in Indonesia? From the results of the interviews of several domestic broadcasting companies there are have already run the convention and have not completely equipped their vessels with WBT. In this article we will discuss theregulation / policy basis of the government, and the technologies that can be applied and meet the standards.
