Abstract

The objective of this Community Service Program (Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat/PKM) was carried out as an implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly in the aspect of community engagement oriented toward empowering students within the school environment. The primary focus of the activity was to enhance motivation, creativity, and human resource (HR) planning skills among students of SMKN 1 Ciruas as an effort to foster an entrepreneurial spirit from an early age. This program was designed based on the students’ real needs, as they still faced low learning motivation, lack of self-confidence, and limited understanding of how to develop career plans and utilize their potential to face future challenges. The implementation methods employed expository and inquiry-based approaches. The expository method was used to deliver fundamental concepts of human resource planning, motivation, creativity, and basic principles of entrepreneurship. Meanwhile, the inquiry method encouraged students to think critically through group discussions, case studies, brainstorming business ideas, and simulations of career planning. The integration of these two methods enabled students to acquire theoretical knowledge while also gaining practical experience relevant to their personal development needs. The results of the program indicated an improvement in students’ understanding of the importance of individual-level human resource planning, including the ability to recognize personal potential, set short-term and long-term goals, and design career development strategies. Students’ learning motivation and interest in entrepreneurship also increased, as evidenced by their active participation in discussions and their confidence in expressing creative business ideas. In addition, students’ creativity developed through exercises in designing simple product or service concepts relevant to their surrounding environment. The impact of the program was not only felt by students individually but also by the school, as it contributed to the growth of an entrepreneurial culture and opened opportunities for continued collaboration between the school and higher education institutions. Overall, this PKM activity successfully made a tangible contribution to improving the quality of human resources at SMKN 1 Ciruas, particularly through strengthening motivation, creativity, self-planning skills, and entrepreneurial spirit. This program is expected to become a sustainable initiative that supports students’ readiness to enter the workforce or to start independent entrepreneurial ventures. Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the academic self-efficacy of Madrasah students through the internalization of positive language as a form of religious coping. The program was developed based on previous research findings indicating that religious coping through positive self-talk contributes significantly to the improvement of adolescents’ self-efficacy. Preliminary observations conducted at MA Darussa’adah revealed that many final-year students experienced low academic confidence, particularly in relation to pursuing higher education, due to perceived limited opportunities and socio-economic constraints.Using a community-based participatory approach, this program implemented a series of guided activities focusing on positive self-talk integrated with muhasabah (self-reflective religious practice). Language was positioned as an internal cognitive and affective tool that helps students regulate emotions, reconstruct self-perception, and strengthen belief in their academic abilities. The activities included reflective discussions, affirmation exercises, and guided muhasabah sessions designed to internalize positive and faith-based language patterns. The results of the program indicate an observable improvement in students’ academic self-efficacy, reflected in increased confidence, more positive self-statements, and stronger motivation to pursue higher education. This community service initiative demonstrates that the internalization of positive language within a religious coping framework can serve as an effective strategy to empower Madrasah students academically and psychologically. The program also highlights the potential integration of linguistic, educational, and religious approaches in community-based interventions for adolescent development.

Abstract

ASEAN Economic Community era has intensified multilingual business communication, particularly the use of Mandarin in multinational companies. This condition highlights the importance of professional Mandarin–Indonesian translation competence for local employees. However, limitations in professional translation skills are still evident, especially in mastering technical terminology and applying contextual translation strategies relevant to workplace demands. This community service program aimed to strengthen profession-oriented Mandarin translation competence among employees of PT LBM Energi Baru Indonesia in Kendal Regency, Central Java. The implementation methods included seminars, workshops, hands-on practice in translating professional documents, and mentoring on translation techniques and strategies, particularly technical terms in chemistry and company administration. Evaluation was conducted through process observation and assessment of participants’ translation performance. The results indicated improvements in participants’ understanding of contextual translation techniques, accuracy in term selection, terminology consistency, and confidence in bilingual workplace communication. Literal translation errors and meaning mismatches decreased after the mentoring sessions. These findings demonstrate that practice-based training is effective in enhancing professional translation competence and is essential for preparing local human resources to meet the demands of global business communication.
