Abstract

This article was written to describe the study of the effect of the use of techniques pair check and initial knowledge of students on their writing skills in SMAN 1 Bangkinang that can be used as an alternative solution to the inaccuracy of the techniques used by teachers in teaching. The research is experimental penelitianquasi with a 2x2 factorial design, with cluster random sampling techniques. Acquisition datadari test prior knowledge and writing skills were analyzed by t-test and two-way ANOVA. The results showed that (1) the learning outcomes of students who were taught with techniques pair check is higher than the learning outcomes of students who are taught the technique of individual check, (2) students with prior knowledge of high-taught with techniques pair check to get a better result than in students are taught the technique of individual check, (3) students with prior knowledge Low taught the technique of pair check get better results than students taught by using the individual check, (4) there is no interaction between the two techniques and knowledge early on skills write.

Abstract

Think, pair, share strategy is one of speaking strategies that can be used by the teacher. this strategy is a great way to help the students to figure out how to speak english well. it gives students to opportunity to discuss their ideas. it is important because students start to construct their knowledge in discussions and also to find out what they do and do to know. this research was an experimental research. it was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Koto Kampar hulu which located on kampar regency. the population of this research is the second year students of sma negeri 1 koto kampar hulu. the sample of this research are class xi. 1 as experimental group which consits of 23 students and class xi. 2 consist of 19students as control group. this research focuses of think, pair, share strategy on students speaking ability. The instrument of this research is speaking test in from of speaking performance. the results of these tests were taken as data of this research. the data collection technique that writer used to analyzed data is t-test.

Abstract

At the beginning of this study, IVB grade students in 022 primary schools in Kampar face some problems in mastering English vocabulary. Some vocabulary learning model has been applied to improve their vocabulary. However, the study failed to increase their vocabulary. These circumstances affect their learning outcomes. Because of the lack of vocabulary, most of them do not reach the predetermined KKM. Therefore, this study was conducted. The purpose of this study was to clarify whether the use of children's songs can increase the students' vocabulary and to identify the factors that influence changes in their vocabulary for the use of a children's song. This research was carried out with the design of classroom action research during two cycles. The results showed an increased level of positive vocabulary. Their ability to give meaning to a vocabulary that have been studied increased from 70 in cycle 1 to 87 in cycle 2. their ability in spelling also increased from 57 in cycle 1 to 86 in cycle 2. Then, their ability in using vocabulary appropriate to the context of the sentence also increased, from 75 in cycle 1 to 84 in cycle 2. In addition, the factors affecting changes in vocabulary they also identified, namely the use of a children's song that is interesting, learning activities for the use of the children's song gives way to the them to pay attention to spelling, meaning, and how to use koskata in the right context and learning activities also provide an opportunity for repetition of new vocabulary.

Abstract

This research discusses the elements of instructional design in model writing. In this model present guidelines for writing instructional design and technical elements in models writing. Instructional design models provide for a systematic approach of implementing the instructional design process for a specific educational initiative. The instrument is observation and test. The instructional models are followed by process of selected models of the Dick and Carey systems approach and description for each model will serve as the foundation and supporting points required for comparing and contrasting process of the models. The result is find some element that is Conduct instructional analysis, Analyze learners and contexts, Write performance objectives, Develop assessment instruments, Develop instructional strategies.

Abstract

The students reading comprehension can be measured by test. One of them is by giving the text with consisting blanks, or a summary cloze test. This research is a descriptive research which describe the ability of the fourth semester students of English Study Program of FKIP of University of Riau in providing word(s) to complete a text. After analyzing the data of the students ability in providing word(s) to complete a text, the writer comes to the conclusions that the mean score of students is 58.7. It means that the level of ability of the fourth semester students of English Study Program of FKIP of University of Riau in providing words to complete a text is in mediocre level and most of them (23 out of students or 62.2%) are in good level.

Abstract

This study describes and concluded that the existence of teaching reading narrative texts for high school students using varied techniques have touched the substantive area. 3-2-1 techniques are cooperative learning techniques have been reconstructing the individual instruction that has been applied in schools. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of learning techniques and reading motivation of students to learn English results. This research used experimental method with 2x2 factorial design and conducted in SMAN 1 Bangkinang Opposite, Riau with a sample of 2 classes. Results of the analysis of the data reveals that: (a) students who are taught by the 3-2-1 technique showed better results than students taught using conventional techniques, (b) students who have high motivation techniques taught by 3-2- 1 shows the results of the study as well as students who are taught by using conventional techniques, (c) students who have low motivation taught using 3-2-1 techniques showed better learning outcomes than students taught using techniques conventional, and (d) there is interaction between the use of techniques learned by the students' reading motivation. However, the results of different values between the experimental group with the control group to measure achievement in this study that the 3-2-1 technique has a better effect than with conventional techniques. On the other hand, students 'reading motivation affect students' reading results.
