Indonesian Journal of Performing Arts Education (IJOPAED) merupakan jurnal bidang Pendidikan Seni Pertunjukan. Jurnal ini bertujuan untuk mempromosikan penelitian dan kajian pada pendidikan seni pertunjukan terintegrasi (lingkup pedagogi drama, tari, musik). IJOPAED menyambut naskah-naskah yang belum diterbitkan guna memajukan publikasi ilmiah terkait Pendidikan Seni Pertunjukan baik dalam area pendidikan dasar, menengah, kejuruan, maupun pendidikan tinggi, serta pendidikan yang sifatnya non-formal (sanggar dan studio seni). Pertimbangan utama adalah menyajikan naskah dengan metode kualitatif, kuantitatif, dan campuran, serta ulasan kebijakan-regulasi ataupun laporan best practice. Penciptaan karya seni pertunjukan yang dilengkapi dengan beberapa kajian kependidikan yang kuat juga dapat dipertimbangkan.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine the effectiveness of creative music to improve students' musical abilities in learning music. The research method uses this type of classroom action research conducted in 2 cycles. The research was conducted at SMP Sunan Averroes Sleman Yogyakarta for three months. The object of the study was 13 students of class VIII. Sources of data used in this study are the results of observations and test results of musical abilities. Data analysis techniques were carried out qualitatively, which were identified to see the achievement and improvement results in each cycle. The results showed that creative music activity could improve students' musical abilities in learning music based on the analysis. This increase was evidenced by observations and the acquisition of students' musical abilities in cycle I to cycle II. Based on the observations' results, it can be seen that the average score of students' musical ability in cycle I was 29.5, while in cycle II was 40.1. Based on this average value, it is known that the increase in students' musical abilities is 10.6. So based on this data analysis, it can be said that creative music activities in learning music can improve students' musical abilities. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan musik kreatif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan musikal peserta didik dalam pembelajaran musik. Metode penelitian menggunakan jenis penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilakukan dalam 2 siklus. Penelitian dilakukan di SMP Sunan Averroes Sleman Yogyakarta selama 3 bulan. Objek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas VIII yang berjumlah 13 anak. Sumber data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah hasil observasi dan hasil tes kemampuan musikal. Taknik analisis data dilakukan secara kualitatif yang diidentifikasi untuk melihat hasil pencapaian dan menyempurnakan di setiap siklusnya. Berdasarkan analisis, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas musik kreatif dapat meningkatkan kemampuan musikal peserta didik dalam pembelajaran musik. Peningkatan ini dibuktikan berdasarkan hasil observasi dan perolehan skor kemampuan musikal peserta didik pada siklus I ke siklus II. Berdasarkan hasil observasi dapat diketahui bahwa nilai rata-rata kelas kemampuan musikal peserta didik pada siklus I sebesar 29,5, sedangkan pada siklus II sebesar 40,1. Sehingga berdasarkan nilai rata-rata tersebut diketahui peningkatan kemampuan musikal peserta didik sebesar 10,6. Sehingga berdasarkan analisis data tersebut dapat dikatakan bahwa aktivitas musik kreatif dalam pembelajaran musik dapat meningkatkan kemampuan musikal

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this article is to show how Indonesia has experienced a tremendous change in its approach to acting in the last 20 years, but it has not been for the better. The modern era of film and television has led to a misleading perception among the Indonesian people regarding the art of “acting,” thereby resulting in an unfavorable attitude toward the craft. This misleading perception stems from the effect of traditional Indonesian theater to its modern counterpart without any adjustments to cater to the millennial generation of Indonesians. The paper explores the roots of this misleading perception. It starts with the problem of applying Indonesian cultural policy, catering to such diverse artistic expressions in Indonesia, educating the artists, all the way to providing the specific educational infrastructure for the arts. The article provides examples of past theater and film productions to point out the problems of modern versus traditional acting styles, the challenges of translations of classic and contemporary western plays into the Indonesian language, the difficulties to apply such rigid interpretations by prominent Indonesian writer to contemporary Indonesian acting styles. The article shows that only by improving and implementing sound Indonesian cultural policy, developing and managing specific educational infrastructure for the arts, and creating a new acting method or re-considering the pre-existing ones, the Indonesian theatre, film, and television will be able to move forward.

Abstract

AbstractThis article aims to examine the phenomenon of Indonesia's talent search arena using a postcolonial perspective. Various talent search programs in Indonesia are imported products, which can be interpreted as an effort to globalize Indonesia. This has indirectly changed the Indonesian people's mindset and culture, one of which is the taste of music, which prefers westernized songs. Postcolonial can be interpreted as a form of analysis unit that can be used to study the form of the new cultural colonial phenomenon, primarily carried out by the west towards nations in the developing (eastern) category of regions. The form of colonialism that occurred was no longer physical colonialism. However, colonization was carried out through language texts, culture, and the development of a negative image of the east by the west, hegemony as a form of power practice. The postcolonial approach in looking at the phenomenon of the talent search arena in Indonesia can provide an overview of how western culture enters Indonesia and hegemony through television media. This form of hegemony is represented in the talent search event, which is full of westernized nuances. The meaning of western culture can be conveyed to the audience and constructed within the audience.AbstrakArtikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji fenomena ajang pencarian bakat di Indonesia, dengan menggunakan perspektif poskolonial. Berbagai program ajang pencarian bakat di Indonesia merupakan produk import, yang dapat dimaknai sebagai upaya untuk mengglobalkan Indonesia. Hal tersebut secara tidak langsung telah mengubah pola pikir dan kebudayaan masyarakat Indonesia salah satunya seperti selera musik, yang lebih menyukai lagu bernuansa kebarat-baratan. Poskolonial dapat dimaknai sebagai sebentuk unit analisis yang dapat digunakan untuk mengkaji bentuk fenomena penjajahan kebudayaan model baru terutama yang dilakukan oleh Barat terhadap bangsa-bangsa yang ada di kategori wilayah yang sedang berkembang (timur). Bentuk penjajahan yang terjadi tidak lagi penjajahan secara fisik, namun penjajahan dilakukan melalui budaya, teks bahasa, dan pembangunan citra negatif tentang timur oleh barat, menghegemoni sebagai bentuk praktik kekuasaan. Pendekatan poskolonial dalam memandang fenomena ajang pencarian bakat di Indonesia dapat memberikan gambaran tentang bagaimana budaya barat masuk ke Indonesia dan menghegemoni melalui media televisi. Bentuk hegemoni tersebut direpresentasikan dalam acara ajang pencarian bakat yang sarat akan nuansa kebarat-baratan, sehingga makna kebudayaan barat tersebut dapat tersampaikan kepada audience dan terkonstruksi dalam diri audience.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to uncover and describe several learning methods applied to learning Rumeksa Dance at Sanggar Dharma Yuwono Purwokerto. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. Data collection techniques are using observation, interviews, literature study, and documentation. In this research, the data sources were the teachers and students who took part in the Rumeksa Dance lessons at the Dharma Yuwono Studio. The data validation technique used was a triangulation of data sources and methods. In this study, triangulation of sources done by checking data sources from the head of the studio, teachers, and students to find out the learning process of Rumeksa Dance, while the triangulation method was done by checks the correctness of data derived from the observation and interview methods. Furthermore, the data obtained is processed and analyzed by data reduction, data presentation, and concluding. The results showed that the learning process of Rumeksa Dance used the lecture method, demonstration method, imitation method, drill or practice method, peer tutor method, and outdoor study method. The use of this method is appropriate because the learning process can be done well. Besides that, students can master the material and performed the Rumeksa Dance correctly.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap dan mendeskripsikan beberapa metode pembelajaran yang diterapkan pada pembelajaran Tari Rumeksa di Sanggar Dharmo Yuwono Purwokerto. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu dengan cara observasi, wawancara, studi pustaka, dan dokumentasi. Sumber data dalam penelitan ini adalah pengajar dan peserta didik yang mengikuti pembelajaran Tari Rumeksa di Sanggar Dharmo Yuwono. Teknik validasi data yang digunakan yaitu triangulasi sumber data dan metode. Triangulasi sumber dalam penelitian ini dengan cara mengecek sumber data dari ketua sanggar, pengajar, dan peserta didik untuk mengetahui proses pembelajaran Tari Rumeksa, sedangkan triangulasi metode mengecek kebenaran data yang berasal dari metode observasi dan wawancara. Selanjutnya data yang diperoleh diolah dan dianalisis dengan reduksi data, penyajian data, pengambilan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses pembelajaran Tari Rumeksa menggunakan metode ceramah, metode demonstrasi, metode imitasi, metode latihan atau drill, metode tutor sebaya, dan metode out door study (pembelajaran di luar kelas). Penggunaan metode tersebut sudah tepat karena proses pembelajaran dapat dilakukan dengan baik, selain itu, peserta didik dapat menguasai materi dan menarikan Tari Rumeksa dengan benar.

Abstract

AbstractCharacter education in Indonesia is being re-implemented to shape students to have intellect and character and can be taught through art education, one of which is Javanese opera. Langen carita is one of the arts that is intended to shape children's character as a continuation of children's art education. Langen carita is a form of the sariswara method in which there are literature, songs/music/karawitan, stories and solah bawa in short operas or children's plays (ages 10-14 years). Langen carita has also developed as a performing art with many historical stories, chronicles, or daily life, including Patine Arya Penangsang. This study aims to describe the values of character education in the language of the play Patine Arya Penangsang. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method by studying, analyzing, expressing, and describing character education values in performing art. Data collection techniques used literature study, interviews, observation, and documentation, which were then validated using triangulation. The results showed that Langen Carita entitled Patine Arya Penangsang has values of religious character education, tolerance, discipline, creativity, love for the country, responsibility, leadership, self-confidence, never giving up, cooperation, obedience, perseverance, patience, courtesy, and sincere. AbstrakPendidikan karakter di Indonesia sedang diterapkan kembali untuk membentuk siswa memiliki akal pikiran dan budi pekerti dan dapat diajarkan melalui pendidikan seni, salah satunya dalam bentuk opera jawa. Langen carita merupakan salah satu kesenian yang ditujukan untuk membentuk karakter anak sebagai lanjutan pendidikan seni dolanan anak. Langen carita adalah bentuk dari metode sariswara yang di dalamnya terdapat sastra, tembang/lagu/musik/karawitan, cerita dan solah bawa dalam bentuk opera kecil atau sandiwara anak (usia 10-14 tahun). Langen carita juga berkembang sebagai seni pertunjukan dengan banyak cerita sejarah, babad atau kehidupan sehari-hari, salah satunya patine Arya Penangsang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter dalam langen carita lakon Patine Arya Penangsang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan mengkaji, menganalisis, mengungkapkan, dan menggambarkan nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter di dalam suatu kesenian. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan studi pustaka, wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi, yang kemudian divalidasi menggunakan triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa langen carita berjudul Patine Arya Penangsang memiliki nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter religius, toleransi, disiplin, kreatif, cinta tanah air, tanggungjawab, kepemimpinan, percaya diri, pantang menyerah, kerja sama, patuh, tekun, sabar, sopan santun, dan ikhlas dalam unsur drama, tari, dan musik.

Abstract

Abstract The research was based on learning Langen Mandra Wanara Javanese opera in the Langen Mudha Mandra Budaya community in Bantul, DIY. This study aims to identify and describe the art learning process descriptively. What is being studied includes the components of learning and the Javanese opera learning process Langen Mandra Wanara. Data were collected using observation techniques, interviews, literature study, and documentation. The research data validation used triangulation techniques. The results showed that (1) Javanese opera learning Langen Mandra Wanara used an integrated art-based learning model between drama, dance, and music; (2) There are support and appreciation from various society levels around it. This effort is a learning for the younger generation and the community in preserving the Javanese opera Langen Mandra Wanara in the Yogyakarta Special Region.Abstrak Penelitian  dilandasi pembelajaran opera jawa Langen Mandra Wanara di paguyuban langen mudha mandra budaya di bantul, DIY. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan proses pembelajaran seni secara deskriptif. Adapun yang dikaji meliputi komponen pembelajaran dan proses pembelajaran opera Jawa Langen Mandra Wanara. Pengumpulan data penelitian dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, studi pustaka, dan dokumentasi. Validasi data  penelitian menggunakan teknik triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, (1) pembelajaran opera Jawa Langen Mandra Wanara menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis integrated art, antara seni drama, seni tari, dan seni musik (nembang); (2) Terdapat dukungan dan apresiasi dari berbagai lapisan masyarakat di sekitarnya, upaya ini merupakan pembelajaran bagi generasi muda dan masyarakat dalam melestarikan kesenian Opera Jawa Langen Mandra Wanara di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta.
