Abstract

Although significant progress has been made in cancer treatment in recent decades, the effectiveness of modern therapeutic approaches is often limited by their toxic effects on other organs. In addition, many people in the world have limited or unequal access to cancer treatment services. Therefore, utilizing information from traditional medicine systems to identify alternative methods to prevent and control cancer. The use of traditional medicine can lead to the discovery of new bioactive compounds and drugs that are available, safe and affordable. In Islamic medicine, cancer is known as a disease with many treatment options. Traditional Islamic medicine suggests several strategies for cancer control and treatment. Surgical manipulation, venesection, dietary adjustment, and use of natural medicines including solid, semisolid, and liquid dosage forms by oral and external routes of administration are among these methods. This literature study will presents cancer from the perspective of traditional Islamic medicine, its aetiology and management.

Abstract

The purpose of this literature review is to describe the differences of power, torsion, and fuel consumption output of an one cylinder motorcycle which given ignition system variances between CDI standart, CDI racing, standart spark plug, and iridium spark plug used three kinds of gasoline premium, pertamax, and pertamax plus. minimum fuel consumption can be obtained by reduce the ignition system which followed by appropriate octane gasoline usage in this case reduce the ignition system into CDI racing kurva 2 and standart spark plug using pertamax gasoline.

Abstract

Metaphor is one of the figurative languages that takes two different things by identifying one with another. By using metaphor, it helps speakers or writers to give a clear description through comparison or contrast. Music is the attribute of sound in every background of human. To investigate the form and the meaning of metaphor found in the lyrics of the songs of Adele aims at the readers, especially the students of English Literature Major to use lyrics of the songs as a media in studying meaning. The method which is used in this research is descriptive method. In collecting data, the writer focused on identifying the words, phrases or noun. The result shows in terms of the identified metaphors, the writer found that the lyrics of the songs can be categorized as metaphor nominative subjective, metaphor nominative objective, metaphor predicative and metaphor sentence. The parts of sentences identified as metaphors are analyzed based on Lakoff is theory about tenor and source. Tenor refers to the underlying idea or principal subject of metaphor while source conveys the underlying; the borrowed idea, or the thing that has been resembled. The result of this study shows that the metaphor contains a certain meaning based on the context and each of them refers to a certain object of tenor and source.

Abstract

Some Muslims have used cupping therapy and occupies a popular position among other alternative therapeutic methods. Modern medical research evidence also confirms the benefits of the therapy recommended by the Prophet. Many medical experts know the efficacy of cupping therapy in treating disease. According to the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), in 2013, Indonesia was ranked seventh with diabetes. Cupping therapy plays a role in stimulating blood circulation in the muscles, thereby increasing the metabolism of nutrients and glucose consumption by the muscles. The increased sensitivity of insulin receptors was helping to reduce blood glucose levels. This effect is like the effect of exercise and physical activity on blood glucose levels. This study aims to determine the effect of cupping therapy on blood glucose levels.

Abstract

Joint inflammation characterized by swelling of the joints, redness, heat, pain and movement disorders. Arthralgia causes the elderly to have difficulty in carrying out activities that are burdening the joints of the body. Wet cupping therapy is a complementary therapy that has a working principle of vacuum, injury and blood-sucking in certain areas so it can cure the disease. This study was to identify the effect of cupping therapy on pain intensity in elderly patients with arthralgia in Malang. It was a quasy experiment research with pretest-posttest with control group approach. The sample in this study was 30 elderly then divided into two groups, i.e. 15 elderly in the wet cupping therapy group and 15 elderly in the warm compress group. It used purposive sampling. The average pain intensity before moist cupping therapy was 7.47, and after wet cupping therapy 5.53. While the moderate pain intensity before warm compress was 7.00 and after warm compress 5.73. Wilcoxon test results moist cupping therapy obtained P-value 0.001 means there are significant differences before and after the wet cupping therapy. While Wilcoxon test results, warm compress got P-value 0.001 means there are substantial differences before and after the warm compress. Mann Whitney test result obtained P-value 0.383 means there is no significant difference of effect between the treatment group and the control group. There is an effect of cupping therapy and warm compress on pain intensity. Elderly can use wet cupping therapy as an alternative treatment to decrease joint pain intensity arthralgia.
