Abstract

Indonesia menjadi salah satu negara yang memanfaatkan tanaman sebagai obat alternatif untuk menangani penyakit yang diderita masyarakat. Daun benalu jeruk nipis banyak mengandung senyawa aktif yang dapat menjadi antibakteri. Tujuan penelitian adalah menguji aktivitas antibakteri fraksi dan senyawa aktif daun benalu jeruk nipis (Dendrophtoe petandra (L.)Miq.) terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dan Escherichia coli. Penelitian ini menggunakan sel bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dan Escherichia coli sebagai objek dan menggunakan beberapa konsentrasi dari fraksi n-heksan benalu jeruk nipis. Penelitian menerapkan metode eksperimental laboratorium secara in vitro yang bersifat eksploratif analitik melalui teknik fraksinasi cair-cair (FCC) dengan pelarut n-heksan, etil asetat dan metanol yang diuapkan menggunakan Rotary evaporator dan teknik pengeringan menggunakan hair dryer. Skrining fitokimia bertahap dilakukan untuk mengidentifikasi flavonoid, alkaloid, saponin, tanin, terpenoid, steroid, dan triterpenoid yang ditandai adanya busa dan terbentuknya cincin berwarna. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa berat fraksi yang diperoleh menggunakan pelarut n-Heksan = 1,32 gram (3,38%), etil asetat = 32,76 gram (83,94%), dan etanol air = 4,95 gram (12,68%). Hasil uji skrining fitokimia diperoleh pada ekstrak (4 senyawa kimia), fraksi n-heksan (2 senyawa), fraksi etil asetat (4 senyawa) dan fraksi etanol air (2 senyawa kimia). Hasil uji aktivitas antibakteri diperoleh diameter zona hambat fraksi n-Heksan pada E.coli (9,25±1,15) dan S.aureus (9,41±0,52); etil asetat pada E.coli (10,67±1,15) dan S.aureus (10,33±0,52). Hasil uji konsentrasi hambat minimum fraksi n-Heksan 80.000 ug/ml pada E.coli (12,33±0,95) dan S.aureus (12,75±0,52), dan 625 ug/ml pada E.coli (7,29±0,18) dan S.aureus (0,00±0,00).Kata kunci: antibakteri, senyawa aktif, daun benalu jeruk nipis, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli

Abstract

Background. Breast cancer is one of the four types of cancer among women and is the most frequently diagnosed in most countries. Breast cancer occurs due to DNA damage and genetic mutations affected by exposure to estrogen, inheritance of damaged DNA, or pro-cancer genes such as BRCA1 and BRCA2. Therefore, a family history of ovarian cancer or breast cancer increases the risk of developing breast cancer. The embryo of the breast develops around the age of 6 weeks of pregnancy. Similar to breast development, fingerprint patterns also develop during the 6-13 weeks of pregnancy. Thus, the genetic message contained in the genome occurred during that period and was reflected in the dermatoglyphic pattern.Methods. The literature search was systematically used using PubMed, Cochran, Google scholar, and other Gray literature between 2010-2020. Of the 69 publications identified, 21 met the criteria and were included in the review. The review is carried out following the provisions of PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review).Results. This systematic review showed fairly consistent findings in breast cancer patients who tended to have more whorl fingerprint patterns and larger ATD angles. For radial loops, ulnar loops and arches were minor compared to the control group potential as an initial screening tool in at-risk groups.Conclusion. Long-term and follow-up studies with larger sample sizes in various ethnicities are needed to validate dermatoglyphics in anthropometric measurements as a promising marker of breast cancer.

Abstract

Some Muslims have used cupping therapy and occupies a popular position among other alternative therapeutic methods. Modern medical research evidence also confirms the benefits of the therapy recommended by the Prophet. Many medical experts know the efficacy of cupping therapy in treating disease. According to the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), in 2013, Indonesia was ranked seventh with diabetes. Cupping therapy plays a role in stimulating blood circulation in the muscles, thereby increasing the metabolism of nutrients and glucose consumption by the muscles. The increased sensitivity of insulin receptors was helping to reduce blood glucose levels. This effect is like the effect of exercise and physical activity on blood glucose levels. This study aims to determine the effect of cupping therapy on blood glucose levels.

Abstract

Saat ini telah banyak penelitian yang menggunakan tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus), namun informasi terkait profil eritrosit pada hewan coba tersebut masih sangat sedikit, khususnya pada tikus putih yang diberi diet vegetarian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis profil eritrosit tikus putih pasca diet vegetarian. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan eksploratif analitik melalui ekperimental laboratorium invivo dengan desain posttest-only design with nonequivalent group. Total sampel tikus putih adalah 28 ekor yang dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok dan diberikan diet selama 6 minggu. Sampel darah tikus putih diambil melalui area sinus orbital dan dilakukan analisis jumlah sel darah merah, kadar hemoglobin, persentase hematokrit, indeks MCV, MCH dan MCHC. Hasil menunjukkan jumlah sel darah putih, kadar indeks MCV, MCH dan MCHC tertinggi pada kelompok tikus putih diet vegetarian tipe quasi, yaitu masing-masing 7,58 x 106 sel/µL, 53,7 fL, 18,6 pg/sel dan 34,5 g/dL. Kadar hemoglobin dan persentase hematokrit tertinggi pada kelompok tikus putih diet vegetarian tipe lacto-ovo, yaitu masing-masing 15,84 g/dL dan 47,88 %. Nilai-nilai komponen profil eritrosit pada tikus putih dapat disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor, meliputi usia, perilaku aktif, kondisi lingkungan pemeliharaan dan komposisi nutrisi dalam pakan yang diberikan.

Abstract

Gaya hidup sehat menjadi hal penting yang perlu diperhatikan dan dijadikan prinsip dalam menjaga derajat kesehatan. Namun, kesibukan harian dalam memenuhi membuat masyarakat kurang memperhatikan diet dan pola aktivitas fisik yang baik dan benar, sehingga berpotensi menimbulkan penyakit yang dapat dinilai salah satunya melalui total leukosit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis respon akut total leukosit tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) pada variasi diet vegetarian pada olahraga berat. Metode penelitian berupa eksperimental in vitro melalui pendekatan eksploratif analitik dengan menggunakan desian pre-posttest design with nonequivalent groups. Penelitian ini menggunakan hewan coba tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) sebagai sampel dengan pemberian tiga tipe diet vegetarian dan diet standar. Pengukuran total leukosit dilakukan sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan olahraga berat berupa berenang hingga lelah. Data setiap kelompok dianalisis secara statistik menggunakan uji-t. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perubahan signifikan total leukosit pasca olahraga berat pada kelompok diet vegetarian tipe quasi p=0,028 (p<0,05), lacto-ovo p=0,007 (p<0,05) dan diet standar p=0,045 (p<0,05), sedangkan diet vegetraian tipe vegan tidak menunjukkan perubahan total leukosit yang signifikan pasca olahraga berat p=0,752 (p<0,05). Kesimpulannya, perubahan respon akut total leukosit tikus putih pasca olahraga berat terjadi pada diet vegetarian tipe quasi dan lacto-ovo.

Abstract

The shift in eating patterns generally in urban communities where the composition of food consumed tends to be higher in fat and low in fiber. Bad sleep quality due to heavy work, is also a risk factor for various health problems such as hypertension, obesity, insulin resistance and dyslipidemia; we call it metabolic syndrome. Many studies have shown that the number of morbidity and mortality due to metabolic syndrome increases significantly. Community service activities in the form of counseling about raising public awareness about metabolic syndrome, especially people in the village of Talang Petai. Aim of this activity is to increase awareness to carry out prevention and health care activities through dietary arrangements, sleep patterns, increasing physical activity, and immediately check into a health service if there are signs and symptoms of disease. The results of this activity, there is an increase in public knowledge about the dangers and how to promote and prevent metabolic syndrome. Henceforth, it needs to be done continuous community service activities so that health status can be increased.

Abstract

Efforts to increase preventive awareness of non-communicable diseases in millenials. Diabetes mellitus is a non-communicable disease that causes metabolic disorders. The etiology of diabetes mellitus is including heredity, viruses that cause pancreatic beta cell damage, diet, obesity, activity patterns, environment and sleep habits. Community service activities aim to increase adolescent knowledge of the prevention of non- communicable diseases, especially diabetes mellitus. Activities carried out in the form of counseling about the signs and symptoms of general symptoms and risk factors for non-communicable diseases and its complications, independent analysis of sleep quality, body mass index), measurement of upper arm circumference and analysis of blood glucose levels. The results of this activity obtained an increase in adolescent insight about non-communicable diseases (especially diabetes mellitus) and increase knowledge about promotive and preventive from this diseases. Continuous service activities are needed to be carried out to the adolescents so that public health can improve.

Abstract

The tendency to increase the number of motorized vehicles can result in decreased air quality. The increasing number of motorized vehicles on the streets of major cities with various brands and types will increase the consumption of fuel oil and cause the effects of air pollution, which is one of the serious impacts of disrupting male reproductive health. Promotive efforts with discussion and question and answer lecture techniques were carried out to communities with serious exposure to vehicle exhaust emissions, namely online motorcycle taxi drivers. As many as 30 online motorcycle taxi riders have received benefits and solutions to improve the degree of male reproductive health.

Abstract

Kesibukan seharian membuat banyak orang melakukan olahraga secara tidak tepat, yakni hingga mencapai kelelahan, termasuk pada kelompok yang menerapkan diet vegetarian yang saat ini trend dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh latihan hingga lelah terhadap jumlah eritrosit dan hemoglobin tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) dengan variasi diet vegetarian. Penelitian ini merupakan ekperimental laboratorium secara in vitro yang bersifat eksploratif analitik dengan desain posttest-only design with nonequivalent groups. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 28 ekor tikus putih yang dikelompokkan menjadi 4 kelompok, yaitu kelompok dengan diet vegetarian tipe quasi, lacto-ovo, vegan dan standar. Jumlah eritrosit dan hemoglobin diukur sebelum dan setelah intervensi latihan hingga lelah. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan latihan hingga lelah terhadap jumlah eritrosit pada kelompok diet vegetarian tipe quasi (p=0,028) dan kelompok standar (p=0,045). Selain itu, terdapat pengaruh signifikan latihan hingga lelah terhadap kadar hemoglobin pada kelompok diet vegetarian tipe lacto-ovo (p=0,041) dan vegan (p=0,038). Kesimpulan bahwa latihan hingga lelah mempengaruhi jumlah eritrosit tikus putih dengan diet tipe quasi dan standar, serta mempengaruhi kadar hemoglobin dengan diet vegetarian tipe lacto-ovo dan vegan.Kata kunci: eritrosit, hemoglobin, latihan hingga lelah, vegetarian
