Abstract

Gender inequality remains a prevalent issue in society today, despite the Quran's clear articulation of equality between men and women. This study aims to analyze verses of gender equality in the Quran that employ the linguistic devices of fasl and wasl using Jürgen Habermas's critical hermeneutical approach. Gender verses refer to those that specifically address gender roles, rights, and obligations in a religious context. The study adopts a linguistic approach to explore how fasl and wasl are used to convey gender-related messages in the Quran. It employs a qualitative content analysis methodology involving literature identification, selection, and analysis in Arabic. Purposive sampling is used to select verses from Surah An-Nisa’ , one of the longest chapters addressing gender, particularly women. From 176 verses, several excerpts depicting gender relations are analyzed. The findings reveal equality in inheritance, kinship, receiving divine blessings, leadership, and equal rewards. These aspects represent social, economic, and humanitarian rights.

This article discusses the function of amulets. Quranic verses are used in people's daily lives. These verses are used as a medium to increase faith, provide psychological strength, and invite good luck. The verses used by the community also vary in terms of meaning and form. According to the community's view, Quranic verses can also be objects that attract sustenance and can repel evil jinns and devils.

Abstract

This research discusses the journalistic product of the burning of the Tawhid flag produced by Media Ummat (MU) owned by former HTI. Interestingly, the flag burning case was associated with the Prophet's flag, causing various public responses. This research raises questions about how opinion formation and ideological framing are carried out by ex-HTI through journalistic production. Data is collected by tracing the news produced by the publisher Media Umat online which is used as a primary source, while secondary sources are news, journal articles, books and relevant research that discusses the research theme. The data is then analyzed descriptively-analyzed related to the production of news published by Media Umat Online. This study found that views were built using 4 (four) ways, namely religious arguments, through the hands of others, legal narratives, and accusations of an authoritarian government. The ideological framing in question is that the flag that was burned was not an ex-HTI flag but the Prophet's flag. Therefore, Muslims must defend the Islamic propagation. The ideological framing was done to legitimize ex-HTI as defenders of Islam. Other findings show that although ex-HTI has disbanded, the group still exists by fighting against the government.
