Abstract

The research was to knowing effectivenes of sand Sea-cucumber (Holothuria scabra) flour to maskulinization fish of cupang (Betta splendens) are held in Desember 2011 until February 2012. The research method used experiment method with design of experiment are complete random device (RAL). The research consits of three treatment are treatmen of B (dose of sea-cucumber 10 mg/l), treatment of C (dose of sea-cucumber 20 mg/l), treatment of D (dose of sea-cucumber 30 mg/l), while control consist of treatment of A (dose of sea-cucumber 0 mg/l) and treatment of E (17α-metiltestosteron dose 10 mg/l) with 3 times restating. Treatment of sand sea-cucumber flour are given for larva fish of cupang wich old age 4 day with soaking during 6 hour. Observed parameter are the male sex ratio, pass of life and environmental factor are the temperature, pH, Oxygen content dissolved and carbondioxyde content dissolved, while data are analyzed with ANAVA resulth and further rested by LSD at 5% level of confidence. The results of experiment showed that teh highest percentage of male fish at treatment of D (dose 30 mg/l) are 66,66% and the lowets of treatment of A (dose 0 mg/l) are 39,77%. From these results it can be concluded that the sand sea-cucumber flour hae given to test larva effectiv to maskulinization fish of cupang female become male.Keyword: Betta splendens, Sand sea-cucunber flour, 17α-metiltestosteron and maskulinization

Abstract

The study was conducted to determine the density and distribution of mangroves in Coastal Bivalvia in Pantai Cermin Bedagai Serdang, Sumatra Utara Province, in January to February 2012. The study used survey methods, field data collection using a plot that is placed on a transect. Determination of observation stations done purposively sampling at three observation stations in the area intertidial. The data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that four types Bivalvia found that Anadara sp, Pharus sp, sp Geloina and Perna viridis. The highest density found in the type Pharus sp with a mean density of 2.75 indv/m3. The lowest densities found on the type of Anadara sp with a rate of 2.07 indv/m3. Bivalvia distribution patterns on patterns of uneven distribution.Keywords: Bivalvia, Density Distribution.

Abstract

This study aims to increase the activity and student learning outcomes through the implementation of cooperative learning model by giving answer to the question and getting the class X2 Benai SMA N 1 academic year 2011/2012. This research is a class action, which was conducted in January-February 2012. Subjects were high school students X2 N 1 Benai class numbering 36 people, consisting of 16 men and 20 women. Parameter studies are student activities and learning outcomes which consists of studying the absorption and completeness. Average student activity on the cycle I is 74.87% (enough) and increased in the second cycle is 81.28% (good). Average absorption of students in the cycle I is 78.94 (enough) and the second cycle which had an average of 80.42 (good). Thoroughness of student learning in the cycle I was 91.67% (excellent) and 97.22% (excellent) on the second cycle. I cycle a group award in any super group 4 and 3 great group and the second cycle of all groups received a great award. From the research results can be concluded that the use of cooperative learning models by giving a strategy question and getting answer can increase the activity and students' high school class X2 N 1 Benai in the academic year 2011/2012.Keywords: Activities, Cooperative learning, Learning outcomes, The strategy giving question and getting answer.

Abstract

This study aimed to enhance scientific attitudes and biology student learning outcomes Senior High School Class XI IPA 2 Kuantan Lower School Year 2011/2012 through the implementation of Cooperative Learning Model with the Quick on The Draw Strategy. This research is a class action that was undertaken in January-March 2012. Research subject is a class XI student of SMAN 2 Kuantan Downstream IPA totaling 21 people consisting of 4 students and 17 students. The parameters in this study is a scientific attitude, learning outcomes, and teacher activities. The research instrument consisted of the study and data collection instruments. The procedure consisted of the planning stage, the stage of the exercise of, the stage of observation and reflection stages. Techniques of data analysis consisted of a scientific attitude of students and student learning outcomes. Average of the scientific attitude in the cycle I is 71.73% (enough) is increased in the second cycle with an average of 86.41% which is the scientific attitude (very good). The average student absorption cycle is 65.52% I (quite) and increased in the second cycle with an average 84.81% (good). Thoroughness of student learning in the cycle I is 57.14% (complete) and 42.86% (not complete), and the second cycle increased to 100% (complete) and 0% (not complete). I cycle a group award for all the groups get great rewards. In the second cycle of all the super honored. I cycle activity with the teacher on an average is 95.56% (very good) in the second cycle increased to 100% (very good). From the research concluded with the application of models of cooperative learning strategies Quick On The Draw can improve the attitude of biological science and learning outcomes of students in Class XI IPA SMA Negeri 2 Kuantan Lower School Year 2011/2012.Keywords: Cooperative Model, Learning Outcomes, Quick On The Draw Strategy, Scientific Attitude.

Abstract

There was applied the Class Action Research (CAR) in order to increase student’s scientific attitude and Biology study result of class VII.C in MTs Hasanah Pekanbaru by applying Cooperative Learning model GQGA. This research was conducted in May 2012. The measuring parameter in take focus on student’s scientific attitude that have 7 indicators and their study results that are the student’s intake, The student’s study accomplishment individually, team reward, and student’s and teacher activities. The rate of scientific attitude in cycle I is 61,92% (low) and increases in cycle II become 83,98% (good). Student’s capability in cycle I is 66,07 (standard) and increases to 72,53% (standard). The student’s study accomplishment can be seen from their daily evaluation test in cycle I is 75% (accomplished) and increases in cycle II become 89,28% (accomplished). The team reward in cycle I are 1 group in super team, and 4 in good team. In cycle II, 2 groups in super team, and 3 groups in good teams. The conclusion of this research can be taken that the cooperative learning mode of GQGA can increase the student’s scientific attitude and their Biology study result of class VII.C in MTs Hasanah Pekanbaru, Lesson Year 2011/2012Keywords: Biology Study Result, Giving Question And Getting Answer (GQGA), Scientific Attitude.

Abstract

A research was conducted to find out the effect of papaya latex (Carica papaya L) toward the mortality of Aedes albopictus larva, in Laboratory of Biology Faculty of Education Teacher Training and Education University of Riau in November 2011 to April 2012. The method used in this research was experimental method to the preparation of a random sample consisting of 5 treatments which are repeated for 3 times. The number of larva are 10. Parameter observed is Aedes albopictus larva mortality as long as 96 hours, LC50 value and toxic response of Aedes albopictus larva which could be showed by body movement, posture and body color of larva. The data of this research was analyzed by probit and deskriptif analysis. The supporting parameters is temperature and pH of the medium. The results of the research showed that the papaya latex (Carica papaya L) could make the mortality of Aedes albopictus larva. Mortality of Aedes albopictus larva in concentration 27 ppm was 100% in 24 hours, in concentration 18 ppm was 100% in 72 hours, mortality of Aedes albopictus larva in concentration 12 ppm and 8 ppm was 80% and 50% in 96 hours. LC50 value in 24 hours was 26.30 ppm, in 48 hours was 20.41 ppm, in 72 hours was 14.12 ppm and 96 hours was 9.12 ppm. The roxic response of Aedes albopictus larva showed the mobility of the less agile, larva body roll, the larva's body parallel to the surface of the water and the color of pale white body. From the result of the research can be concluded that the papaya latex can potentially lead to death of Aedes albopictus larva and the concentration recommended for application to the environment is 9.12 ppm in 96 hours.Keywords: Aedes albopictus larva, Papaya late.

Abstract

This study aims to improve motivation and learning outcomes with the application of biological science cooperative learning model Team Assisted Individualizations (TAI) in a class VIIa SMPN 4 Kunto Darussalam FY 2011/2012. The research was conducted in January-February 2012. Subjects were students in grade 4 Kunto Darussalam VIIa SMP totaling 34 students consisting of 17 students and 17 students. Parameters is motivated by categories: challenge, curiosity, participation, and control, learning outcomes consisting of absorption, the thoroughness of learning and group awards, student activities and teacher activities. The average student motivation prior to the application of learning models, namely TAI 53.12% (average) increased after the application of learning models with an average TAI is 83.00% (high) and the absorption of students in the cycle I is 83.53% (both ) increased in the second cycle to 85.74% (good). Thoroughness of student learning in the cycle I is 70.59% and in the second cycle increased to 94.12%. I cycle a group award for the award and a great group of super 2 4 groups. In the second cycle there are two groups of super honored, three groups received a great award, and one group received both awards. Student activity in the cycle I is 66.24% (or less) increased in the second cycle is 75.75% (enough). I cycle activity with the teacher on an average of 100% (very good) as well as in the second cycle is 100% (very good). From the results of the study concluded that the application of cooperative learning model TAI can increase the motivation to learn science and biology students in grade 4 Kunto Darussalam VIIa SMP Rokan Hulu FY 2011/2012.Keywords: Cooperative Study Team Assisted Individualizations (TAI), Learning Outcomes, Motivation,
