Abstract

Sexual violence against children committed by child perpetrators is a serious issue in the criminal justice system in Indonesia. Currently, Indonesian criminal law does not specifically regulate a comprehensive handling mechanism for this case, thus causing problems in the application of fair law and providing optimal protection for children as victims and perpetrators. This study aims to analyze the urgency of establishing a special criminal law that handles criminal acts of sexual violence by children against other children. A normative legal approach with a conceptual approach, a legislative approach and a comparative approach and the theory of legal certainty are used in this study to explore the need for clearer and more responsive regulations. The results of the study indicate that the establishment of a special criminal law can provide better legal certainty, including appropriate protection and rehabilitation mechanisms for children as perpetrators and victims. This is important to ensure that the criminal justice system not only prioritizes punishment, but also protection and rehabilitation in accordance with the principle of the best interests of the child. The establishment of this special regulation can also strengthen the justice system to be more adaptive and responsive to the special characteristics of cases of child sexual violence.

Abstract

South Africa has one of the highest rates of sexual offences globally, making it a critical site for understanding the psychological effects of sexual offences trauma. This scoping review aims to explore the psychological consequences of sexual offences on women in South Africa. Using the methodology framework by Arksey, H and O'Malley, L (2005), this qualitative scoping review found about 17 652 articles from science direct and google scholar database of which only 10 articles met the eligibility criteria and 112 online newspaper articles from google search of which only 10 articles met the eligibility criteria with an emphasis on the South African context. The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) together with the inductive Thematic Content Analysis (TCA) were used to analyse the data. The study findings indicate that sexual offences expose women to various psychological effects both short-term and long-term consequences. This study revealed that victims of sexual offences experience intensive and varied psychological impacts such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression, suicidal thoughts, self-blame, shame, anger, sexual dysfunction, emotional suppression and sleep disturbances. It also highlights the ways in which societal stigmatisation and misconceptions of sexual offences intersect with the indicated psychological effects, often exacerbating the challenges faced by victims. The review emphasises the role of stigma and victim-blaming in prolonging the trauma experienced by victims. Further research is recommended to explore the long-term psychological effects of sexual offences and effectiveness of interventions programmes designed to help victims in their recovery journey.

Abstract

This journal article begins a comprehensive legal review of notaries’ responsibilities in dealing with unfair competition in notarial practice in Indonesia. The discussion is firmly rooted in the Indonesian legal framework, focusing specifically on the laws and regulations governing notarial practice and competition. It begins by tracing the history of notarial practice in Indonesia, highlighting important milestones in legislation such as the enactment of the Notary Law in 2004 which was later amended to become Law Number 2 of 2014. This provides a background that can be used to contextualize the issue of unfair competition. The role of the Indonesian Notary Association (INI) in enforcing these regulations and encouraging ethical behavior in the profession is examined. This article investigates the effectiveness of the Association in enforcing professional standards and its strategies in handling unfair competition cases. It also investigates the impact of unfair competition on the credibility of notarial practice and public trust in notarial services. It explores how unfair practices can damage the integrity of the profession and erode public trust. Through an in-depth analysis of case law, this article explains how these regulations are interpreted and applied in practice. This report presents a series of case studies that exemplify the challenges and dilemmas faced by notaries in navigating a complex competitive and ethical landscape. It also discusses the challenges and limitations inherent in the current regulatory framework. The committee critically evaluates the effectiveness of existing laws and regulations in preventing unfair competition and enforcing notary liability. It proposes potential reforms to enhance accountability and prevent unfair competition, drawing on comparative insights from other jurisdictions. The insights gained from this research are expected to make a significant contribution to the discourse on legal ethics and professional responsibility in notarial practice. They are also expected to inform policy-making and legislative reform in the sector. This examination of notary liability and unfair competition is critical to maintaining the integrity of the legal profession and ensuring public trust in notary services in Indonesia.

Abstract

Wealth management focuses on the management of wealth, specifically addressing Islamic wealth management in this research. The aim is to analyze the relevant literature to identify research trends in Islamic wealth management. Data was obtained from Crossref Search covering the years 2019-2024, using Harzing’s Publish or Perish (PoP) software, which was analyzed using bibliometrics with VOSviewer. The research findings from the network visualization underscore the importance of modern aspects in Islamic Wealth Management (IWM), such as profitability and intellectual capital, reflecting the increasing trend of digitalization, particularly amid the pandemic. These findings suggest that wealth managers in the Islamic finance sector should adapt digital approaches to reach a broader market segment, especially the younger generation. Policy recommendations include the necessity for support for responsible and sustainable investments, as well as the development of regulations that ensure wealth management aligns with Sharia principles. This research contributes to understanding how IWM can adapt to contemporary challenges while maintaining a commitment to social justice and economic sustainability.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the existence of Pandawara Group in influencing the participation of the younger generation in environmental issues. This study also aims to invite the community to do greening. Thus we can maintain our sustainability by building a community group to maintain the sustainability of nature in Indonesia, and most importantly reduce the use of hanging plastic waste. One of the causes of flooding in every part of Indonesia, and around 36.50% of flooding in Indonesia is caused by garbage that clogs every river in every river in Indonesia, thus inhibiting the flow of river water to the beach or ocean. And in this study we will discuss one by one.

Abstract

The problem that will be studied in this journal is the relationship between reading interest and reading comprehension ability of class XII students at Al-Azhar Medan's Leading High School. The method used is a qualitative research approach by interviewing class XII students. This research was conducted in class 12 of Al-Azhar Medan's Leading High School. The population in this journal is 20 students. The purpose of this study was to determine how much influence reading interest has on reading comprehension ability. As well as completing assignments from the Pancasila Student Profile activity in the Merdeka Belajar curriculum. The results of the study indicate that there is a positive relationship between reading interest and the abilities of students in class XII of Al-Azhar Medan's Leading High School. This shows that the rise and fall of students' reading interest affects their ability to understand reading.

Abstract

The film "How to Make a Million Before Grandma Dies" tells the emotional journey of a character who struggles to achieve wealth before his grandmother dies. The purpose of this research is to understand how various elements in the film such as plot, character, theme, and setting work together to creating an in-depth and touching experience. The research method in this study uses qualitative research by watching the film several times and noting every important detail. This process involves observing how the storyline develops, how the characters interact, and how the setting supports the film's themes This research analysis shows that this film is very successful in combining intrinsic elements to form a strong and heartfelt story. The language style used is also very effective in building an emotional connection between the audience and the characters in the film This film not only provides entertainment, but also offers deep reflections on life and human relationships. Through this analysis, we can see how strong this film is in conveying important messages, making it a compelling and meaningful experience for collaborative audiences to create an engaging and meaningful cinematic experience.

Abstract

This research will study the heritage of historical buildings in the colonial era in Medan city. Among them are the London Sumatra Building, Bank Indonesia, Post Office, City Hall Building, and Tirtanadi Tower. In obtaining the data needed to conduct research, researchers conducted a historical research method consisting of four steps: (1) Heuristics, which is collecting historical sources that are interconnected with the topic of the research study. At this stage, the author prepares to collect historical sources in the form of documents, archives, books, documentation, interviews, and tracing photos, maps. Photo and map searches can be done for verification. At this stage, the author conducts source criticism to test whether the historical sources are authentic and credible. All historical sources that have been collected will be tested through internal and external criticism. Internal criticism is carried out to find the validity of the source, while external criticism is carried out to determine the extent to which the validity and authenticity of the sources obtained can be accounted for. After these two steps are carried out, all data that has been validated is then grouped based on the topic of study to be researched. 3. Interpretation. At this stage, the author interprets historical sources into a unified understanding or story about the event. (4) Historiography At this stage, the author reconstructs the events of the past with me.

Abstract

This article investigated the impact, causes, types of bullying and the measures employed by primary schools to curb bullying in the Tshwane South District in Mamelodi Township, Gauteng Province. The researchers wanted to learn more about the effects of bullying in underprivileged communities. Three schools took part in the study, which used a qualitative methodology. Semi-structured one-on-one interviews with instructors, learners, and school principals were used to gather data. There were fifteen participants in the study. The goal of the study was to learn more about the effects of bullying in underprivileged communities. Three schools took part in the study, which used a qualitative methodology. Semi-structured one-on-one interviews with instructors, learners, and school principals were used to gather data. Fifteen people participated in the study. The authors found that primary schools are challenged by the negative impact of bullying and that there are factors that cause bullying in primary schools. However, we conclude that there are several measures that can be used to curb bullying in primary schools.

Abstract

The purpose of this study were to analyze and prove the effect of electronic service quality, perceived risk, information quality, on loyalty through satisfaction and trust in BNI Mobile Banking users in Samarinda City. This study used a questionnaire with a sample of 160 BNI Mobile Banking users in the city. This research used a quantitative approach with path analysis which was processed with IBM SPSS Statistic 23.0 software and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with AMOS 5.0 software. Accidental random sampling was employed in this study, with a measurement scale using a Likert scale with a score of 1 to 5. The test instrument was validity and reliability test and the classical assumption tests such as linearity test, normality test, multicollinearity test were used. Then the estimation test and structural model fit test were carried out. Based on the structural model, it could be proven that there was a significant influence between the variables electronic service quality and Information Quality on Satisfaction; Electronic Service Quality, Information Quality, and satisfaction on trust; trust on loyalty for BNI Mobile Banking users in Samarinda City. Meanwhile, there was an insignificant influence between the variables perceived risk on satisfaction; perceived risk on trust; electronic service quality and satisfaction on Loyalty.
