Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease that often results in death. Every year millions of people continue to suffer from TB. Moncongloe  Village is a village where the prevalence rate of TB disease is quite high and one of the problems is related to knowledge. Therefore, the community service activity this time is to provide education about TB disease and an understanding of the importance of the role of the family in preventing transmission of TB disease. The method used through health counseling using leaflets, discussions or questions and answers. Apart from that, a blood pressure check and joint exercise were also carried out in the Moncongloe Bulu Village office hall, Maros Regency. The results of this activity are proven to be very much needed by the surrounding community who look very enthusiastic when given health education materials, so it is hoped that they will be able to provide additional references to the community

Abstract

Stroke is a major health problem for society. Almost all over the world, stroke is a serious problem with higher morbidity and mortality rates than cardiovascular disease. A sudden stroke can cause physical and mental disability as well as death, both at productive age and the elderly, 80% of strokes are non-hemorrhagic strokes (NHS). This stroke is caused by many risk factors such as hypertension, cholesterol, obesity, DM, increased hematocrit, according to an initial survey conducted by the service team, we see that patient and family knowledge is still very lacking regarding how to prevent and treat NHS, therefore it is important to hold counseling. This service was carried out in the RSP ICU Room. Ibn Sina YW-UMI. The dedication method is by Lectures/Counseling, Discussions and Questions and Answers. As a result of the dedication, we got the patient's family enthusiastic and active in asking questions so that they are committed to avoiding stress, stopping smoking, exercising, controlling blood pressure, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, they say their knowledge has increased about stroke.

Abstract

Eyes are one of the five senses that are useful for getting various kinds of information. While at school, this function plays an important role considering that the teaching and learning process is accepted through the five senses. This is in contrast to the current situation where the pandemic prevents children from attending school face to face. The intensity of learning through gadget media makes parents worried because children will tend to spend more and longer time with these devices so that it can have an impact on children's eye health. Early detection and periodic examination of children's eyes can reduce these problems considering the eye is one of the vital functions of the body. Through visual inspection using the Snellen Chart card, it can detect the function of visual acuity in children. This Community Service Program uses an outreach method at the beginning of the activity by educating students about the importance of maintaining eye health, followed by taking turns checking vision. The target in this program is 102 students accompanied by assistance from teachers and school health workers. Based on the results of the examination, some students (59%) had normal vision and they were very enthusiastic when the education was given. Thus, periodic visual inspection in the school environment is very important to facilitate the learning process in children.
