Abstract

The Research to analyze the structure of manganese ore sinter processes occurring in the area Kiawai Sub Distric of Gunung Tuleh Regency of west Pasaman. In this research use XRF and XRD characterization tool. The results showed a transformation in the structure. Changes in the structure of the manganese ore minerals may occur as a result of warming temperatures. Structural changes that occur are tetragonal pyrolusite structure with a unit cell a = b 4.4000 Å and c = 2.8700 Å to the cubic bixbyite structure with a unit cell a = b = c = 9.4091 Å and then to the tetragonal hausmannite structure a = b = 5.7630 Å and c = 9.4560 Å. On the other hand also occur that the incorporation of bixbyite with a Rhodonite. Changes in the unit cell obtained by unit cell a = 7.6140 b = 11.8480 and c = 6.6990 the new braunite structure becomes tetragonal unit cell with  a = b = 9.4200 and c = 18 670

Abstract

Final waste processing site of Padang City is located on Air dingin, Kelurahan Balai Gadang, Koto Tangah Sub – distrik has 8 leachate holding pond. At 8 leachate holding pond flowe in to river next to final processing site. Most of residents around the final processing site use water fromriver and well around waste processing site as a source of clean water for daily life. This research aims to know composition ofheavy metal in sedimen of leachate pond, river sediment and gutter sediment of final waste processing site Air Dingin, Padang City. The sample used in this research are 4 samples of leachate pond sediment, 1 sample of gutter, 1 sample of riversediment which have been measured magnetic susceptibility values. The measurement result XRF will show content of elements contained in the samples. Determining the content of heavy metal using determined by matched measurement result with periodic table. The measurement  result using XRF further made in to table and graph. The measurement result using XRF show that heavy metal contained insample of leachate pond sediment are Titanium (Ti), Vanadium ( V), Cromium ( Cr ), Manganese ( Mn ), Iron ( Fe ), Cobalt ( Co ), Zinc ( Zn ), Rhadium ( Rh ), Neodinium ( Nd ), Eopium ( Eu ), Iterbium ( Yb ), Indium ( In ) and Zirconium (Zr). At measurement composition of sediment sample is acquired that heavy metal similar to result of leachate sample measurement, only Iterbium (Yb), Indium (In)  not foynd, where as on sediment sample of gutter also there is heavy metal that similar to composition sample of leachate and only Indium (In) not found.  The heavy metal that dominant find on sample as leachate sediment, river sediment, and gutter sediment is iron with percentage 33.664 % and rhadium with percentage 30.587 %. Heavy metal at final waste processing site Air Dingin suppose get in through metallic waste, chemical waste such as vehicles waste, waste of iron and steel, battery alectric devices, insecticide residuethat not classified weel. Abstract

Earthquake would cause ground acceleration. To the ground acceleration can be measured by using intensity meter p-alert instrument. Instrument compiled of sensor, modem, hub D-Link, and display. This research to describe the constituent components and data analysis. The sensor used in instrument is triaxial MEMS accelerometer ADIS16223 and digital signal processing component used microcontroler MaximMAX7219 with RJ45 data communication. Data analysis of  peak ground acceleration for five times earthquakes use P-Alert Early Warning software

Abstract

The identification of slip surface in Bukit Lantiak Padang Selatan  has been done. The aim of this research is to know the shape of slip surface, depth of slip surface, and angle of slip surface. Data were collected by Automatic Resistivity Multielectrode in 4 lines with Schlumberger configuration. Interpreted of data was done with Robust Constraint Inversion. The result of this research shows that slip surface is Translation slip. Depth of slip surface are 12,8 m and 4,5 m. Angles of slip surface are 34,980 and 25,940.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect variations composition of Palm Empty Fruit Bunch (EFB) and wood dust on the physical properties and mechanical properties of particle board. Particle board is made from EFB fiber and wood dust and added 30% adhesive. each particle boards have various compositions. In this study, the independent variable in the form of variations in the composition of the EFB fiber and wood dust that is 20: 80%, 40: 60%, 50: 50%, 60: 40%, 80%: 20%. The dependent variable in the form of physical properties such as moisture content, density, and mechanical properties such as flexural strength and compressive strength.. In general the values obtained physical and mechanical propertiesare density, flexural strength, compressive strength which is optimal in the variation 50% EFB : 50% wood dust, but the moisture content obtained optimal value at variation 40% EFB: 60% wood dust. All fulfill the SNI standard except for the value of the flexural strength

Abstract

Have been obtained solid-state electrolyte based on chitosan by the casting technique from a solution containing  of chitosan, montmorillonite, LiClO4 and plasticizer by using two different types of plasticizers are: ethylene glycol and glycerol. This study  purpose to know what is the concentration of ethylene glycol and glycerol as plasticizer can be obtained solid-state electrolyte based on chitosan with ionic conductivity and mechanical properties are optimum for rechargeable battery applications.  Ionic conductivity properties were characterized by  using LCR meter, mechanical properties were characterized by  mechanical tests, and microstructure using optical microscopy. The results showed that the optimum composition obtained in 50% ethylene glycol with an ionic conductivity of 1,26 x 10-3 S/cm, tensile strength of 41,59 MPa and 77,5% elongation. At the optimum conditions obtained in glycerol concentration of 25% with an ionic conductivity of 2,51 x 10-3 S / cm, tensile strength of 32,14 MPa and 69,3% elongation. Of both plasticizer, glycerol give better ionic conductivity and films produced by using glycerol are smoother and it`s texture looks more evenly, while ethylene glycol gives better mechanical properties.

Abstract

Waste management in Indonesia is still mixed, between organic and inorganic materials and also have very high landfill waste. Increased precipitation will adversely affect the trash heap, where organic materials in the garbage will decay and will produce liquid waste. In order to manage waste properly at the end should require a final disposal (TPA) so that leachate generated from the decomposition of garbage can be channeled properly in pools shelters located in landfills is called leachate pond. In this research, the characterization of magnetic minerals leachate TPA Air Dingin Kota Padang. This study aims to look at the morphology and elemental composition of the leachate at six points on the leachate pond and river sampling, and sewer landfill. Characterization of magnetic minerals is done using a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) aims to look at the morphology , followed by Energy Dispersive spectroscope (EDS) aims to determine the elemental composition . This study used 10 samples taken from six points leachate ponds and 4 points of the river,  and sewer . Leachate, rivers , and gutter first extracted with methanol using bath soap which aims to separate the magnetic and non-magnetic minerals. Magnetic mineral morphology analysis using SEM known , that the leachate, rivers , and ditch  generally spherical mineral and square and there are many rengkahan . In addition, the size of grains of magnetic minerals belong to the group multidomain ie measuring >20 µm . The results of EDS analysis showed some dominant element in the leachate , rivers , and gutters are Fe , O , Ti , Mg , Al , C , and Si

Abstract

In this article will be discussed about data interface of  two-dimensional vibration detection using fluxgate sensors. Making the interface uses two programs are the program MPLAB X IDE V1.70 and Visual Basic programs in C #. MPLAB X IDE V1.70 program is used to program the analog data into digital data and program the data to be able to be connected via USB to a personal computer. Using the Visual Basic programming language C # aims to display digital data on personal computer in real time graphical form and the data stored in the xls extension. This research is a laboratory experiment. Data interface results will be displayed in the form of a graph consisting  of  vibration detection by fluxgate sensor vertically and horizontally. Extension xls stores data in excel format with the data stored in the form of the maximum scale and the delivery time of data from the vibration detection by fluxgate sensor. The personal computer interface signals for analog data that has been converted into digital data in PIC 18F4550 microcontroller

Abstract

Zeolite is an adsorbent is used to improve the purity of bioethanol from sugar cane. Bioethanol produced  by the sugar cane using of the fermentation procces and distillation procces obtained the highest levels of only 90%, and with repeated distillation the content of bioethanol does not increase. It necessary for an alternative method immersion of zeolite into bioethanol for 24 hours. Zeolite with varying size  of 50 mesh, 80 mesh, 100 mesh, 200 mesh was into the bioethanol content of 90% and produced bioethanol content of  91,3%, 92%, 93,3% and 94%. Bioethanol content 94% is also done the same thing and produced of 95%, 95%, 95,5%, 95,5%. In general, an increase in the levels of bioethanol in the size grains of zeolit used.
