Abstract

The focus of this research is to examine more deeply the meaning of Esse and Ens in the political construction ahead of the 2024 elections in Indonesia. The author places social media analysis as an important part of the political construction of the 2024 elections by way of a philosophical review of Thomas Aquinas and Martin Heidegger. The purpose of this research is to express the idea of Esse and Ens in social media regarding the hot issue of the 2024 election. The main objective is to criticize the philosophical meaning of Esse and Ens behind the news circulating in the community. Social media plays a vital role in studying and observing the political development of the 2024 elections in Indonesia. The concept of Esse and Ens provides a sharp injection that election construction is also related to the philosophical meaning of metaphysical studies. Social media can ultimately be seen as something that exists (Ens) and an understanding of 2024 election politics (Esse). The research method used is a critical reading of several sources in the form of articles from various journals on Esse and Ens, literature books on the role of social media in the complexity of modern life. The finding of this paper is that the role of social media in the form of Ens affects the lives of Indonesian people. So that with a significant influence it makes the understanding of the politics of the 2024 elections stronger and more correct. Because the review of Thomas Aquinas and Martin Heidegger becomes real and rooted in the social life of Indonesian society.

Abstract

The low representation of women in the Indonesian DPR (People's Consultative Assembly) indicates a problem with the electoral system. Women's concerns cannot be translated into policy if they are not directly involved in decision-making. The study aims to identify the factors that contribute to the low representation of women in the DPR, specifically examining the operation of indirect and direct election technical variables. The research uses a literature review approach to understand the concepts of the electoral system, democracy, the party system, and affirmation policies. The findings reveal that the affirmation policy, which focuses primarily on the election formula, is insufficient to guarantee women's representation in the DPR. Other technical variables are considered detrimental to women's representation. Despite the implementation of the affirmation policy, the number of women in the DPR has not reached a critical mass from the 2004 to 2019 elections.

Abstract

The influence of politics on the bureaucracy or commonly known as the politicization of the bureaucracy is one of the phenomena that often occurs in government bodies. After the regional head elections, the desire to reorganize civil servants or the state civil apparatus within the scope of regional administration can increase. This thesis aims to identify and analyze the interests of regional heads in politicizing the bureaucracy in the implementation of ASN mutations after the regional head elections took place in the Bungo Regency government environment. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach to answer research question. The theory used is the theory of bureaucratic politicization by Barbara Geddes. The results of this study indicate that the Bungo Regent's interest in the bureaucracy is to want a loyal bureaucratic machine so that it is then able to fulfill its interests in realizing the vision and mission in terms of developing Bungo Regency and also other interests such as maintaining its power.

Abstract

Poverty is, no doubt, a social phenomenon that cuts across all races, tribes and countries of the world. Where the difference lies is in the varying degrees of poverty in comparative terms, from one country to another. Particularly, the staggering level of poverty in Nigeria is a pointer to perilous times ahead, factoring in the dominant concepts of globalization and liberalization in global economics. The international poverty line was increased from $1 to $1.90 in September 2015, inadvertently pushing more Nigerians below poverty line. The extreme level of poverty in Nigeria is attributable to factors such as bad governance, unequal distribution of the nation's wealth, unemployment, injustice and marginalization, corruption, lack of education, among others. This study adopts structural-functionalism as the analytical framework to examine the effects of various interventions by international civil society organizations in Nigeria, on the level of poverty and the attainment of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In addition, the qualitative method is used to collect data while content analysis was applied on data gathered through secondary method. The study observes that, for the level of poverty to reduce drastically in Nigeria, there is need for good and effective leadership, strong institutions, as well as public-private partnership in public delivery.

Abstract

This research examines use of literary works as a means of political literacy, specifically as a response to computational propaganda as a major challenge in the politics of the 21st century. Various previous studies regarding political literacy put emphasis on formal institutional approaches through formal education in schools which have numbers of problems, such as time, limited access, and state indoctrination. This research explores how reading texts helps citizens to read social phenomenon by reviewing theories regarding political literacy and critical literacy by using interpretive content analysis method which involves author's interpretation. The analysis shows the harmony between the narrative in the novel "Bungkam Suara" with various studies on computational propaganda and "Bungkam Suara" as counter-narrative to computational propaganda by raising readers’ awareness of their relation as netizens to the computational propaganda. Therefore, literary works can serve as an alternative in political literacy by providing different perspectives and building citizens' critical thinking over politics.
